Hello everyone. I'm just like some of you guys inside here. Curious about what is going to happen in the SRD. I've read many posts inside here about what is going to happen in the SRD but most of them are stories about those who have undergone the SRD as experienced or fresh Bachelor Deg. holder.

Now my case is that, I'm a Eng. Diploma holder. Worked for couple of years before with various work positions and now I'm applying for the post of Operations Technician in Shell.

I'm going for SRD this coming 19 July 2011 in Hilton,Kuching together with my fresh Diploma friends which were also my junior. So here I can see, experienced diploma holder and freshies will attend the same assessment together. Well, that's not the issue.

My issue here is, "is anybody out there have any tips/ideas/comments regarding the written test which is under the Technical Assessments".
They mentioned that they will test us on our basic engineering and mathematics questions. I'm wondering how basic is it?They asked us to bring along scientific calculator. The letter also mentioned that, only those who pass the written test will proceed to presentation and face to face interview. That's mean the early assessment is the most important part.

I've been thinking,if it is too basic, simple calculation you doesn't need a calculator isn't it? Unless if the questions need answers in at least 3 decimal points which also involve a little bit complex maths calculation operations.

Therefore, I do appreciate if any of you guys have been through all this before or anybody that know about the SRD for Diploma candidates because with your help, at least we'll have a picture of the questions and not to prepare for it blindly.

Its probably calculations that require squares and square roots, pressure calculations (psi/kPa) etc. Operations tech do need to know their numbers. If you know theorycrafting from DotA (saw your Butterfly +30 agi logo), you should be alright.

Probably? It seems like you are not so sure. How about for Degree written test? You have taken it before?I believe it almost the same for Diploma candidates. "calculations that require squares and square roots, pressure calculations (psi/kPa)" (anymore?). DotA doesn't need calculator.Item's price is not sell in decimal points. We just need know to count fast to farm for butterfly. That's different story.LOL

i just submit a resume in their shell website. quite confusing cos turn from malaysia to uk page.

however when is the shell recruitment day? totally no info from their page.

Just submit your resume in their website and wait. If there's any vacancy suitable for you or if you're a qualified candidate for the future SRD, they while notify you via email or phone. You'll know when or where the SRD is going to be held once you're shortlisted.

Hi all..

I just hv 1 question to ask, as a shell scholar I need to go through the srd according to what my scholarship coordinator said. But now the srd application is already closed and I dont know when it is going to be open again. Based on the contract, I have a 5 years bond with shell. What should I do now, I can't apply anywhere else and just wait for the next srd? sad.gif

Hi preakzz. In your case, I suggest you to wait for the next SRD and be alert so that you won't miss the application. The SRD will held anytime depend on their manpower needs. So be alert for future SRD. My tip is, bookmark their website in your browser. smile.gif
