Hey, when is your SRD?
Will you share your experiences on each exercise to help me out, I hear it has all changed for 2013 - I am applying UK but I am sure the keep it internationally consistent.
I have my telephone interview this week. Any tips for this interview? Do they include the capacity questions on a topic such as: Corporate Social Responsility, recruiting top talent, inclusiveness of diversity, global warming etc?

Your career help would be much appreciated.

Enjoy your day!!

Had a fun day at SRD yesterday biggrin.gif
It really was a one of a kind experience, both tiring but fun at the same time
They will ask you to evaluate on the answers you have given in other exercises prior to the interview. No biggie and you cant prepare for it. smile.gif

Hi hope you are well.

Could you give me a breakdown of your experience on the SRD?
What is the self reflection interview (put it into context on what Qs they asked)?
What is the E-tray about?
What is the Case study and Group discussion on?
What type of interview is it?

Also for the phone interview, did they ask u a capacity question on something like explaining corporate social responsility?

Your career help would be MUCH appreciated.

Cheers!

No offend, but during SRD, the recruiter said we should not reveal any of this to the shortlisted candidates, it will be unfair to the others. So, lets just keep it fair. After all, why would you need all this answer to pass the SRD ? I past my SRD with no information on the latest recruitment process. If you have the capabilities you will pass it, if u dun...well, work hard on it. Not in this way though.

However I can give u some general advise for the SRD, which is be who you are, remember what u did best in the past, and be confident, Good Luck smile.gif

Cheers !!

Hi,

I understand your concerns -
my only area of doubt is in the case study and group exercise as I see a lot of information on this and I do not no weather to put myself at the same advantage as everyone else by reading all that information or leave it as it would require a lot of reading. I am wondering if u you could share if it is in fact on the same topics (social investment and debating your idea how to spend on behalf of shell for the group exercise and then the short/med/long term action plans for drilling activity etc on Audki island??
No specific details or your answers are required just the kind of topic so I can practice similar case studies as I have had no experience in them before.

People also say to prepare for the 4 capacity questions on the telephone interview, I had a telephone interview before but I hear these are NOT included anymore.

In terms of the self reflection and every other task I am happy to just take it on the chin on the day.

Hi all,

I had my telephone interview for UK yesterday - I gave good responses (she did however tell me to speak slower!) ha.
I would say to remain on the exact topic as its quite easy to wonder off it slightly lol
It was on biggest achievement, worked in team, and changed my approach to solve problem - asked me how I could have done it differently, and why the approach I done was important. Nothing on capacity this year. I will find out within 10days, interview lasted 45mins.

I will keep you posted on progress, and if you could provide tips for SRD if I was to progress, that would be appreciated to enable me to best prepare.

Enjoy your weekend and good luck!

If you applied for the SGP, that would be the F2F interview, which is the second phase after you've passed the initial online assessment. I think his statement is pretty self-explanatory - they'll let you know whether you've passed or failed within 2 weeks.

To be honest, do buck up your initiative a little if you wish to pass the SRD. If you did not even read about the recruitment process on Shell's website, I'd say that chances are, you don't have much knowledge about Shell. Just a tip - read through the Shell Sustainability Report.

Good advice!... I had a phone call last week telling me i was going to get an answer this week for sure regarding progression to the SRD (job offered elsewhere). With this in mind I am going to start preparing incase they decide in my favour (if they don't then only a little effort that has been lost and not the end of the world lol!). I have read about stake holders and their importance and criteria shell use with regards to decision making. The enquiries I have (if you are able to spare some time to clarify and share your knowledge) is with regards to the "self-reflection" interview and final interview. First of all what is the general drift of these? self reflecting what and how does the final interview differ from the phone interview (i.e. technical i.e. fluid mechanics / personal i.e. best achievement or what?) lol.

I am assuming the online task is replying to emails and that the case study and group task it what all the other treads are about (Akudi island and social investment respectfully) - heard not just prep can be done on these just try best on the day but the other two I highlighted earlier I believe there may be some useful prep which can be done.

Much appreciated if I can get a response - enjoy your evening.

Jack H.
