You can't pay the Voice bill online via MyLaunchPad but you still can pay online via your personal internet banking. For mb2u user, you can pay to Maxis Mobile Sdn Bhd

QUOTE(barca96 @ Aug 31 2012, 12:39 PM) I've been on the RM88 4mb Streamx Unipack plan. From the words and sentence of your story: better don't install this Maxis FTTH 10Mbps plan because:Now the 24 month contract is ending. I heard that we can continue with it. Should I continue with the RM88 4mb Streamyx? Or go on and install my RM118 10mb Maxis plan? I'm really satisfied with this 4mb. It's more than enough for me as I only use internet for work. I hardly download and dont play games at all. It's really stable. Never give me any headache. Then when I look over at this Maxis thread, there seems to be a lot of problems with the router. I need stability. That's the most important. Don't know what to do. Maxis installer will come in mid September. I dont need IPTV. I still can cancel it but Im still on the fence. Is it worth it to pay RM30 extra for a 6mb more speed? But then get a potential headache.. And does the modem/router need to be next to the TV? Or can we put the modem/router wherever we want to like streamyx modem? 1) You really satisfied with current Streamyx 4Mbps, NEVER give you ANY headache 2) 4Mbps is more than enough for you as you only use internet for work, not a heavy downloader/gamer 3) You don't need IPTV 4) You don't have to pay extra RM30 per month If you still want to install this Maxis FTTH 10Mbps, the fiber modem and wireless Thomson router can be placed anywhere in your house during installation - be it in the kitchen, in your bedroom, in living hall or at car porch. It recommended to be installed near to Television so that easy for you later to install TV Set-top Box and connect that box to your TV for IPTV viewing purpose. In my opinion, if you don't use IPTV you may put the modem and router where you usually use the internet. Closer to to you means better coverage and speed for your wireless internet experience |

QUOTE(swimming @ Aug 31 2012, 05:46 PM) It's simply because VOIP using different VLAN compare to Internet. As long as your fiber cable is connected and VOIP vlan don't have any problem, your phone should work even during Internet is fail to connect.QUOTE(sparrowed @ Aug 31 2012, 06:39 PM) Current Maxis FTTH international routing very bad, so if you play online game with your friend located in international internet link it will give high latency and almost unplayable gaming experience. |

QUOTE(barney @ Sep 6 2012, 10:25 PM) yesterday i showed you guys my ridiculous speed but i didn't suspect it was maxis problem so i left it as it is hoping today would be better but it isn't. let me show you the result im getting OR maybe someone nearby you suddenly switch ON their WiFi access point which using same channel as your Thomson, so the interference caused your WiFi signal weaker. Please scan nearby WiFi using scanner (e.g. inSSIDer) and avoid using same channel as others.![]() before i got this speed it was good since almost 2 months i've been using. my desktop is placed in my room and it's running on wifi instead of wired. the reason why its on wifi because my maxis thompson wifi is located right in the middle of the house and my desktop is located at the back of my house which is my room and not too far away from the thompson modem. I live upstairs and the modem is downstairs in the middle of the house. when i 1st installed maxis FTTH it was good. from my room im getting 10mb up and down which i still has the speed test result. it was all good, torrent can get max, played d3 with no lag, direct download can get max speed. All the sudden on the 4th of September (which was 2 days ago) i wanted to watch the latest WWE raw episode which i normally download every tuesday after work because that's when someone should have uploaded the torrent. I've been a raw fan for a long time and since i got maxis FTTH , when ever i download raw new episode it would take me 20 mins or less for a 1.5gb file. So i downloaded the latest episode and realized it's taking very slow. speed was like 20-200k and no consistent. dont know why so i restarted the modem a few times to test and still the same result. did speed test and got crappy result. i didn't care, thinking it was just that day internet was lousy so my wwe raw new episode finished downloading after 4 hours ++. 2 days of continuous usage i find speed was still crappy. Others here are getting decent speed but i am not so i dont think its maxis or tm problem. took my phone did a speed test from where my desktop is and got crappy speed test. i did another test just right at the thompson modem and guess what....MAX SPEED! so i was troubleshooting, thinking how in the world did this happened suddenly when things was working normally in the past? what i can think of there is only 2 possibilities 1) either the Thompson modem wifi signal has weaken (which originally it's already week but for my case it was ok so i didn't bother changing it to another brand) OR 2) my PCI wifi card signal has weaken (it;s a dlink brand and i think its about 2 years old since i started using it and i think i bought the cheapest one at that time) a friend of mine who work in the networking field who sell those wifi modem said the signal can weaken if it's old already so i might want to change my PCI card to a stronger one like this one http://www.tp-link.com.my/products/details...model=TL-WN951N im sure it's signal to detect the wifi should be alot stronger than my current one. i have 1 more test to do and thats from my work laptop. will try and do a speed test from the desktop location and see how's the speed is. chances it will still be lousy. so anyone if you faces this kind of problem before? tq |

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Sep 18 2012, 02:21 AM) this is very misleading... I concurred the above said. Never overheat, always switch on from 1st day, normal room temperature, save money from buying any cooling fan. The real culprit is the maxis infrastructure itself. DotFYI, I hv no problem with over heating issue and da devices have sufficient ventilation/cooling power another most important fact is I never turn off my device since day 1!!!~ except for few reboot I just wan to inform u guys, u all hv been fool by Maxis CS!!! the device have no problem, it is Maxis themself... from wat i see, they have multiple issue at their load balancer, router, authentication server, p2p's-QoS throttle software, the stupid captive portal redirection to MyLaunchPad... and lots more at international link yes, we all are maxis's guinea pig... First batch is always suck |

QUOTE(dannychen @ Oct 21 2012, 09:22 PM) What is the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) for my Fibre Internet service? What happens if I exceed my FUP? and what is the speed of 10Mbps package after being managed because of quota exceed, when it has been implemented sooner or later? 10% of the package?Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is to ensure all customers can get good browsing experience and to prevent abusers from hogging the bandwidth, which can impact other user's experience. For the 10Mbps, the 100GB quota applies. If you have breached your allocated quota, your internet speed will be managed to ensure other users are not impacted. Your FUP will follow your subscribed package accordingly. Currently we offer unlimited quota download until further notice. source |

QUOTE(azizul9736 @ Oct 21 2012, 11:10 PM) Any one play PS3 here? Heard prevly having problem to go online with private iP, is it true? Anyone facing problem cause im thinking getting PS3 soon. Yes, in order to make your PS3 connectable from internet you must change from private IP to public IP. After that, you may use UPnP in Thomson or do manual application sharing under Tools menu (also known as NATting or port forwarding). PS3 term define this as NAT type 1 or 2.In PS3 term, you have 3 NAT option: -type 1 if you assign public IP to PS3 (put it in DMZ) -type 2 if you share PS3 port at Thomson router -type 3 if your PS3 is unconnectable from internet I hope this helps |

QUOTE(joellim @ Nov 17 2012, 02:10 AM) TS, please add this to the first page. I still can access that "GutterUncensored" site using normal Google IPv4 DNS 8.8.8.8 on my PC. My Maxis Thomson router configuration still unchanged with stock setting (Maxis DNS). I'm on public IP by the way. tqFor everyone who is trying to change the DNS, please do not use IPV4 DNS anymore. Maxis Home Fibre has switched to IPV6 therefore using IPV4 won't work. When going into Internel Protocol, choose the: Internet Protocal Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) Then key in a public IPv6 DNS for Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS. Example Google Ipv6 dns: 2001:4860:4860::8888 2001:4860:4860::8844 OpenDNS IPv6: 2620:0:ccc::2 2620:0:ccd::2 Hope this helps. I tried to change to 8.8.8.8 when I first got maxis home fibre but i couldnt access GutterUncensored (if you can visit this site means you are on an uncensored DNS, not Malaysia's heavily filtered DNS). Finally after trying unsuccessfully using many public DNS servers, I thought, what if Maxis has upgraded to IPv6? Straight away I key in google public DNS and voila! all the "censored" websites could be accessed openly and no more government filtering! |
