maybe you can try XM2... its a comfort tyre... long lasting...

i am choosing between XM2 and PS3 but will be going for PS3 later because i drive fast and whack a lot of corners doh.gif

other comfort i think will be Continental CC5, but i heard not that durable... maybe you can check out the tyre thread for more advices, more experts there smile.gif

Any idea what is the dimensions for XM2 and PS3? for 15inch or 16inch?

Hi, anyone here encountered before Vios near radio unit there produces weird noise, such as some small piece of stone or sand jumping around when the car moves through un-even roads.

Anyone here got this problem fixed so far? I believe many people face this as I remember last time someone used to feedback this at here as well.

do you guys do the waxing and polishing by yourself? what brand of was or polisher you guys recommend?

Added on September 17, 2012, 5:26 amSeriously, Toyota should gives better spec for Vios considering that range of selling price, now even the full spec G or the TRD spec also does not come with a basic simple USB capability, this is really omg shakehead.gif

What year is ur vios? NCP43 or NCP93?
Some ppl face this issue, just mention this problem to Toyota SC when u send for servicing.
*
this year car 2012..

ohh..so you have heard before that some other ppl also facing this problem as well? Any idea what the Toyota SC did to fix that?

I think only G spec will face this problem due to the dashboard integrated radio is having the panel in black color shining plastic material, suspecting that piece of thing is producing the noise when vibrating. Because other specs like J or E they have the same piece of panel as well but their material looks different and won't produce that kind of noise I guess.

With my previous Vios (M) i also faced with the same 1st gear issue for the first 2-3 months but after a few service round it seems to be ok already no more issue with the 1st gear and reverse gear...

as for the sound in the dashboard.. maybe can check at the glove compartment.. some people said this is the place where most of the sound is generated ( the glove compartment body hitting the dashboard body).... but my brother vios actually have a sound coming out from the dashboard (on top of the meter area) and toyota open up the thing and put something to where the sound originated....

my 2cent

*
hi kuman, the sound coming out from the dashboard (on top of the meter area) that happened to you brother's Vios, so eventually did Toyota SC manage to fix that problem after put something to where the sound originated?

I too had issues of dashboard sound, especially at the centre area. Whenever I press down in front of the meters, the sound disappears. Taken to SC a few times, they could not rectify the problem. Will be gone a few weeks, and after that, the sound is back.

Got fed up one day, decided to DIY. It is easy. The panels are easy to take out, they are attached with just push fit clips! Pull the bottom one first, the middle one behind the gearshift, then the 2 side panels and lastly the meter surround. Took me sometime to find out where the sound came from. Use a stick on felt pad to isolate the offending panel from the metal underneath and presto, no sound, after 1 year. There is actually a video on youtibe showing how to take out the panels.

Putting back was easy, just push in.
*
any tool needed? or just bare hands to pull and push the panel?

another question is, the bottom one and middle one behind gearshift are where you referring to?

deng... saw it already... a lot more functions and it's not integrated anymore doh.gif
*
just checked with them, they said they don't sell and install that new radio separately as accessories, they only provide it pre-installed upon placing order for the new vehicle. shakehead.gif

not only this latest 2-DIN radio, even the AVX and AVN DVD players also, they said they don't sell it as accessories, they only will install it for those who ordered during the new vehicle purchase.

I was choosing between the Grand Livina and Vios. Decided to go for the Vios after test drive, finding the interior of the Vios looks and feels better.

Went to the Toyota TTDI Showroom, operated by Crestmax Auto Sdn Bhd and paid a booking fee of RM500 yesterday evening. Have been asking around for a G Limited in Medium Silver (1F8) and only this dealer has stock.

Negotiated the promotion for RM7000 discount, RM600 Tint Voucher and a Smart Tag. Confirmed the delivery to be by the 20th December 2012. Fill in all the paperworks and now impatiently waiting!

I noticed that the RCO - Retail Customer Order that was given to me is a photocopied one. He filled in the original, photo-copied it then only write down the discount and free gifts on the piece of photo-copied one. Both of us, the SA and me then signed on the photo-copied one. I realised all of this when I am home, as I was rushing to finish the paperwork. Is this a normal practice by SA?
*
meaning the car selling price , after RM7000 discount, is RM82,613?

Highway wise still too light, but overall Kelisa is not bad, its a waste Perodua replaced it with Viva...

that i haven't drove before, RS250 is sweet tongue.gif

agreed that bars can only do limited changes... cornering still feels... not so right, i'll be changing 195/55R15 soon, lets see tongue.gif

i still prefer stock suspension because its comfortable... i've sat on my cousin's heavily modded Jazz... a lot faster rebound, most corners he didn't need to brake but it was uncomfortable... so i postponed the idea of changing my shocks until i can find one that's near stock comfort...
harder shocks don't go well in lights cars i supposed laugh.gif
*
change tyres only or plus rims as well? original rims can use back for 195/55R15 ?

share with us after you changed rclxms.gif

Collected my car finally. Found out the driving the car actually feels more "solid" compared to the previous generation.

Am going to tint and coat the car. Any recommendation where to go?

I just calculated mine yesterday, about RM0.15sen/km (BHP),
M7 Eco fully synthetic. Been driving more aggressively while FC remain the same......
2009 G spec. Stock condition.
How old is your Vios? If new need to break in first only will get reasonable FC.
maybe your driving style?

QUOTE(SWIFT88 @ Jan 12 2013, 07:34 PM)
Hi all, I am having some issue with my 6mth old vios (5,000km), there's crankling sound coming from the engine sometimes when accelerating. Besides that, there's also rattling sound from the dashboard (near the drawer and behind the meter) also noises from ard the front passenger side door.

When idling, the car seems to be vibrating a little bit when the RPM is near to 0.5.

Anyone got any suggestions to the problem?

Any recommendation which service centre in klang valley is the best for repair the defects?

Thanks!
*
for the rattling noise coming from the drawer one, it could be due to the drawer lid, when moving over uneven road, there is a gap where the drawer lid will hit the drawer and produces rattling noise, try some simple test to identify it by putting heavy stuff like book in the drawer and let the book lean towards the drawer lid, then close the lid and drive through uneven road, if the rattling noise disappears, then meaning the drawer lid is the problem. Can fix it by attaching some cushion or sponge pieces to the edge of the drawer lid to close the gap. Once the gap is sealed, then the drawer lid won't hit the drawer anymore when the car going through uneven road surface. can ask Service Center to do it if under warranty, i think this is common issues among all Vios.

yalo, before repaint i was thinking of looking the same Sport Rims to replace the scratched rims, but this type of rim only can find on G Limited version, so it is really hard to find. I tried to ask Toyota, they quota me RM2202 each. LOL.
*
RM2202 for 4 original G limited rims including labor charges?
