Me and my wife are planning to go to Bukit Kayu Hitam. We plan to stay in GM Hotel in Changlun. We would appreciate if you could help us with info on the following : Can we drive to the customs area and park? Can we then walk across with our international passport and shop in Thainland - all walking distance ? Is it safe? What is interesting in the nearby areas? Am interested in things which is not available here - places for shopping? Food? Please help us ...we have never been there before.

QUOTE(stimix @ Sep 20 2013, 04:33 PM) There are many taxi services between BKH & Hatyai for sure. Bus Service should be avilable at Danok just after the Thai border side. The buses there are converted pic-up truck wth wooden/steel seats & canopy. They called this "Songthiew" or bigger version of Tuk-Tuk. I last took taxi from Chanloon to Hatyai ~ 15yrs ago.. so not sure the price right now. Easier just drive in if you have your own car ..Procedure to drive in on pg1 Thank you.

QUOTE(desmondck218 @ Sep 21 2013, 06:05 PM) if driving to Hatyai. must sure you get the import/export form from thai customs. otherwise when u meet a road block or checking, you will be in deep shit. first is the language issue. not to forget is Car Insurance. cos lately the security checking is very tight there. so everything must be well prepared and becareful while driving. enjoy your trip there. -Welcome to Amazing Thailand- Thank you.
