» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Oct 7 2014, 08:30 PM) Extracted from its Product Highlights Sheet: Investment strategyThe fund seeks to achieve its goal of capital growth by investing in blue chip stocks, index stocks and growth stocks listed on selected global stock markets.
The fund may also invest in collective investment schemes which focus on a diversified portfolio of blue chip stocks, index stocks and growth stocks listed on selected global markets. The fund’s equity exposure will range between 75% to 98% against its net asset value (NAV).
The balance of the fund’s NAV will be invested in fixed income securities and liquid assets which include money market instruments and deposits.
Extracted from its Prospectus: The benchmarks of the Fund and their respective percentages are as follows: • 50% Dow Jones Industrial Average; • 20% STOXX Europe 50 Index; • 10% TOPIX Core 30 Index; • 10% customised index by MSCI based on the Top 30 constituents of MSCI AC Far-East Ex-Japan Index*; • 10% 3-Month Kuala Lumpur Interbank Offered Rate (KLIBOR).
... The component stocks of Dow Jones Industrial Average, STOXX Europe 50 Index and TOPIX comprise major stocks from their respective markets.
The component stocks of the customised index based on the Top 30 constituents of MSCI AC Far-East Ex-Japan Index comprise major stocks from key regional markets including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The ratio stated in the composite benchmark index is representative of the Fund’s investments in global markets over the medium to long-term.
* As indices which focus on Asia Pacific markets have a relatively high index weight for Japanese and Australia stocks, an index which excludes the Japan and Australia markets is used as the Fund’s equity benchmark as it is more representative of the Fund’s investment strategy.
thanks for the information 50% are into DJIA, not so high meh?

QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Oct 10 2014, 02:46 PM) Fresh from the press: Australian sharemarket dives after horror week.http://www.smh.com.au/business/markets/aus...010-114bon.html- Take a look at the performance chart on the Aussie fund. Its benchmark is S&P/ASX 200, adjusted to ringgit... it has given up all its YTD gains of about 10% since early Sept, now underwater -3.xx%. With today's drop of 2%, it will be about -5% YTD. And the million dollar question: Will it go further down? yes, it may go down again next week. wait & see for now

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Oct 31 2014, 05:26 PM) I am always confused by distribution... i thought actually what PM refer to as distribution is basically taking our own money and split them into more units as distribution... very misleading... So how can they said they declare RM312m distribution, as if they are giving out the money? Pls help clarify if i am not understanding this correctly... what u said is correct. if they said that, then how the agent & company to cari makan

QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Nov 1 2014, 03:52 PM) If that is true, this board would have been getting lots of replies... maybe shutting down Lowyat. If that is true, you will see agents going amok on the streets... throwing stones at Public Mutual and bank branches. If that is true, investors would be pulling out money from other funds... maybe some fund companies will tutup kedai. well said

Public Mutual has launched a new fund, Public Strategic Growth Fund (PSTGF) on Monday that focuses on index, blue chips and growth stocks.
It said PSTGF is an equity fund which seeks to achieve capital growth over the medium- to long-term period by investing a significant portion of 75% to 98% of its net asset value (NAV) in a diversified portfolio of stocks.
About 50% to 75% of the fund’s NAV would be invested in index stocks, blue chips and growth stocks in the domestic equity market.
“The fund will look to invest in sectors which include financial services, infrastructure, consumer, plantations, healthcare, telecommunications, utilities and manufacturing in the domestic market. The balance of the fund’s NAV will be allocated to fixed income securities and money market instruments,” it said. Public Mutual also said PSTGF might invest up to 30% of its NAV in selected foreign markets in Asia, US and other permitted markets. The initial issue price of PSTGF is 25 sen per unit during the 21-day initial offer period from Dec 8 to Dec 28, 2014.
The minimum initial investment is RM1,000 and the minimum additional investment is RM100.

QUOTE(dhui @ Feb 18 2015, 06:13 PM) I have been investing in Public Mutual since year 2002. My understanding is that mutual fund is type of long-termed investment and is more to passive mode. I also aware that the fund is handled by fund manager. All I do since 2012 is to invest a monthly sum into it. Since this is one of my investment portfolio for long-termed purpose, I would like to ask for experienced sifus' advice & recommendation if Public Mutual Fund a good vehicle for long-termed investment (i.e. 20 years & above)? From my research and my seniors' experience, most of them did not trust in mutual fund. From my current prospective, I do not wish that after 20years only I know I invested in a wrong place and regret... In short, is Public Mutual Fund a good investment vehicle for long term i.e. 20 years and above? Appreciate to all sifus' opinion. can give the list of fund u invested under PMutual
