Different asset class.

Bond is a debt notes issued by corporation or government for specific amount of money loaned in return of certain percentage of return upon maturity. It's works like FD but has risk implanted with it.

Equity is investing into various stocks (dividend, growth, penny, etc) in the share market.

izit people want higher return but less risk so they choosing bond fund?

you have answer...return higher than FD.

FD basically is BANK fix income product to their bank customer and part of bank business way taking deposit to give loan.

While BOND is a structure fix income security which promise given by a enterprise/company(NON BANK) to loan money rather borrow thru commercial bank.

Loan money from bank the interest may be higher and volatile rate, the reason enterprise/company may be prefer using BOND to gain financial, only way attract investor by giving higher than FD rate.

By LAW FD is only offer by bank, non other than bank which take/put your money in their account by return % rate is Investment structure.

Furthermore BANK FD is insured by PIDM up to rm250k max, and always NOT categorize as investment product.

No Tax Imposed on EPF Withdrawals
Following the video, articles and comments circulated over the Internet concerning 20 per cent tax rate imposed on EPF withdrawals, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) advises its members that the allegation is untrue.

The EPF would like to clarify that no tax is imposed on all EPF withdrawals and the Fund is not related to the Private Retirement Scheme (PRS).

We hope that with this clarification, the issue regarding tax imposed on EPF withdrawals is addressed.
