Surprised to see our friend ass did not JV with the channel,so most likely it may not be on assto! tongue.gif
*
Most likely will end up on ABN and/or Unifi- they don't carry any Japanese channels at all at the moment, and assteruk already has NHK World Premium locked down to them. hmm.gif

Also, most likely assteruk won't want because they already airing dubbed version of Ultraman on Ceria hmm.gif

my astro byond decoder only works and appear on tv when i take out the smart card...when i insert my smart card there is no signal thru hdmi and i cant even switch channels on the decoder...what is the prob here
*
Did you sign up for HD option? Assteruk not only disables the HD channels, but also the entire HDMI output if you don't subscribe to HD (yeah, it's plain stupid of them. But only in Bolehland...). If you didn't, your options are to fall back to composite (yellow-white-red cable) or sign up for HD.

Some schedules are different, they must be planning to sell prime airtime to local advertisers, make more money strategy! vmad.gif

I agree that I don't approve of this "local version" of the channel as well. Although the reason I disapprove of it is different: it smells of Rice's censorship.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Feb 28 2013, 03:21 PM)
anyway... hopefully the package is attractive enough as I currently are paying more than RM300+ for Assteruk Superpack3+multiroom+1mb screamyx
*
Well, it depends on what you want to watch. If you like high quality BBC like Top Gear and Doctor Who, or SyFy, or Channel M or [V], then TM is worth it. But if you prefer Korean or Chinese dramas or football, or most other mainstream stuff, then stick to Assteruk.

No harm having both tho. Since TM's system is ala-carte, they charge you per channel.

Can always verify my quote. Those telesales people only care about their commission and don't have real fact sometime. I was offered 'upgrade' to those 8mbps screamyx line too at RM160 from my current underutilised 4mbps screamyx but I rejected as Unifi is coming soon to my area. The telesales guy still trying to persuade me for the 'upgrade' although I tell him I will wait for Unifi. Those are 3rd party telemarketer.
*
I also suggest verifying with TM by calling 100 first before upgrade.

Uh, bro, the Star networks has always been under Fox/Newscorp. Thats why they have The Simpsons and Futurama, as well as used to carry Fox Kids. I guess they're just stepping up the branding to make more people aware that they're owned by Fox/Newscorp.

Padan Assteruk. People ask politely for channel, dun want to give because they think they know the viewers better and that we must STFU and enjoy what they give us. They forgot who has the power to stop paying them.

just wanna check with you guys, whenever it rains i can't watch my astro beyond. is it the same for everyone?

if so what is the point of providing satellite services that doesn't work under rain in a tropical country? what a rip off
*
Blame assteruk for choosing the Ku/Ka band despite the ITU already warning that the band is not suitable for tropical region instead of the more rain fade resistant S band (which is used by IndoVision). Although Ka (which is used for HD channels) is supposed to be more resistant to rain fade than Ku. So in the event of rain, all SD channels will drop off while HD channel is still watchable to most people. Only during monsoon storm (hey, it's monsoon season!) that all channels will drop off. S band is supposed to be resistant even during monsoon storm, unless it's very heavy monsoon storm.

Glad I potong assteruk years ago. Between their arrogance which they believe we should watch what they give us and we cannot complain, and "signal hijacking" to insert local ads and censor unnecessarily, I rather have no assteruk...

Try changing to a shorter HDMI cable. If it still persists try a different TV set.

I would advise waiting for your Unifi contract to end because TM's disconnection fees aren't worth it (I had to terminate my 1Mbps Streamyx contract prematurely when I moved house from Penang to Selangor two years ago).
*
IMO, he should keep both. Unless Assteruk throws out their arrogance and start carrying TM channels as well and share what channels they have with TM. TM has some gems that Assteruk refuses to carry and vice versa.

Just my two cents tho tongue.gif

I don't actually use the TV hypp tv at all, I told the installer not to bother setting it up as I don't have a TV in the room with the router so no idea what I'm missing on it.
*
Well, tbh, the only channels worth it on UniFi is SyFy HD (though most of the programs are upscaled since their lineup mostly from the pre-HD days), BBCE and Channel News Asia, and if you're a educational cartoon head like me or have kids, CBeebies, Nick Jr, Discovery Kids and KidsCo. They also have a few other worthy channels like Universal Asia and Fox Crime HD. But aside from that, nothing else.

Oooo...No wonderlah... sweat.gif

Also, Astro Maxis IPTV is available at end of this month.
*
Comedy Central? How is that possible? Badly butchered version?

In any case tho, it's just too late with BBCE- happy with it since TM brought it back for Malaysia first, and I don't believe in Assteruk handling Comedy Central because I believe it will be badly chopped up. Plus, they still dun have CBeebies.

QUOTE(smileguy @ Apr 13 2013, 07:43 PM)
Maxis is in unifi area but sadly unifi is also NOT availibale in most parts of the country, corrupted regime, coverage is selected,I help u ,u help me.......so the fact no unifi no maxis, for all we know best TM gives to many parts of the country is only 1mbps at its best, what a fool TM is! smile.gif Maybe one day Maxis wl buy TM tongue.gif
*
Its a possibility since both are run by cronies... Although I dread to think what will happen to CBeebies when that happens since Assteruk has no regards for children whatsoever and refuse to bring in more childrens channel!

Assteruk still has TVB8? I thought they threw it out and TM rescued it from Assteruk's dumpster, just like BBCE.

This is astro thread. why discuss hypptv ?   doh.gif

Because there is no HyppTV thread and it's more convenient?

This should be renamed into "The Pay TV thread", since there's also Starhub and MioTV discussions, and sometimes ABN criticism tongue.gif

Hi to all sifus here, just subscribed to astro b.yond recently. I have a HTS with optical digital input and the astro decoder comes with digital coax output, is there a converter to interconnect the digital audio? Currently using analog audio.

Thx.
*
I think you can use one of these: http://www.amazon.com/C2G-40018-Coaxial-Op...4/ref=pd_cp_e_0

Not sure where to find in Malaysia tho- most likely Pasar Road.

Exactly! This kind of ridiculousness is shaming our country. What provider disables the HDMI port if you don't subscribe to HD?

Have to show assteruk that their ass is ass and we're the grassmen!

Please call Astro to verify your area coverage. I heard from a friend using Maxis fiber in landed property. She called Astro to ask on IPTV, ended disappointed - not covered.

Also, I thought assteruk saying that they're trying to work with TM to allow their IPTV to also operate on UniFi? What happened to that?
