Newbie to Gunpla. May I know is it that, as long as we see the product is from BanDai then it is the Japanese product? Next, how shall we spot whether the kit is pre-painted or need paintjob? I don't wish to go into paintjob yet for my first Gunpla.
most knockoffs dun hav Bandai logo and hav weird names like gundoom or something. If u c Bandai logo chances are its the real deal (ive seen some boxes whr thr is a Bandai logo but its fake but those r quite rare), to be safe just buy from a reputable seller/shop then u wont hav to worry. All Bandai kits r pre-painted, its just that some r less detailed then the others. In NG, HG and old MG for instance, alot of color separation are done via stickers if u dun mind this then u wont hav to paint but most of us here hates stickers n treated it like its an incarnation of hell thus most of us avoided it with a 10 foot pole. Me personally ill burn it then pee on it to put the fire out then stomp on it and flush it down the toilet....
New MG n RG hav excellent color separation even small small stuff usually is modded in a separate tree (with diff color if required) thus newer kits there is no reason to even paint it unless u dun like its default colors.
