i'll wonder whether or not to do linings after i finish a kit.. because after having a look at the overall kit then i will see where is appropriate to be panel lined

haha, no problems.. i have eagle eyes actually i think RGs look plenty detailed after putting on all the decals that lining is not entirely necessary

Yeah.. It did went a little bit crazy with the shopping. Yup.. Im planning to start with HG starter kit. And build up from there. Thanks for the advise.. Will update here once i start building - if i can actually find the time.. Haha..

bro, there's no rush in learning how to build a scale model. as for me, I would have advised first-timers/rookies to brush up on building skills first before jumping to painting. sure, it's a learning process but at the same time you don't want much damage to your kits by rushing things up and might as well ruin it by a careless mistake.

Let's put it this way: you do not learn to run before you learn to walk, right?
He's just starting, let him get the hang of snap fitting, trimming and panel linings before going further into coloring ( this includes spray cans and AB ).

If he ruin his kits during AB, worst thing is he might have to scrap the whole kit, if not losing his interest in gunpla first.

I started early last year, with MG Exia as my first kit

as for now I'm still doing snapfitting with panel lines and decals. as for painting, I only do minor touch-ups since I don't have that much free time to paint the whole thing, not even topcoating

I really take my time when building my kits, and most of my builds can take up to a few days for a HG, and at least a week or two for RGs and MGs

i'm not sure what else to say, after he said such things
just let it go, i'm not sure he's even thinking before posting

even up until now, i've probably built over 50-100 kits and i still haven't used my AB.. i've only just started painting up small details, and even then i'm a bit scared of ruining my kits still.. needless to say my AB will be in storage for a bit.. and even then it's just a beginner AB set.. the money spent there is better saved to buy another kit to practice on, or even some markers to learn lining and detailing first, get the hang of things THEN learn how to AB kits to your liking

RM165 lar i don't really know how to use still.. i know it's a lot of work but i intend to spend the time on some of my models i have an unbuilt MG Exia i intend to repaint using the AB, but it will take a while before i muster the courage to do that even now i treasure each of my kits, i wouldn't want anything to go wrong

haven't gotten that adventurous yet! so far i've been pretty much doing the same as you, clean build with decals.. some small detailing with silver and gold where necessary.. other than that, no customizing and all that as of yet

That "canon" was actually a bazooka and they don't come with either HG or MG and have to buy it separately which i think AF hobby have them but only MG ones if i recall but there was 1/144 scale one that was come with a magazine some time ago.

I also start with spray cans but now just purchase a airbrush kit (bit more expensive than HxiiiK buy  ) because in the long run you will yearning for a much better color selection and tin cans take alotttttttttttttttttt of space over time.

About RM650  and it included a compressor with a tank which was the bulk of the cost come from, at first i thinking to get those cheap ones but after alot of consideration, decided not to because since pump motor from what i read will broke in a long run anyway and noisy but it still a good start for those who want to try it but not confident enough to delve deeper because let be honest airbrush is not something you can trow away after a few weeks.   
Very impressive posing there so i guessing there must be a peg in the feet to make it happen.

both are great looking kits imo. it maybe comes down to your budget (about RM90 for RG Freedom and RM130-140 for MG Wing)

how are your experience with gunplas? how many MG/RG/HG kits have you assembled?

technically RGs are more tricky to assemble than MG.. and MG wing is quite simple.. if you enjoy RGs you should go for Freedom, if you want to try out MG, i think MG is pretty fun to build too, essentially it's the same as RG except the inner frame is assembled by you, not pre-assembled

usually I would recommend to build an MG first before trying RG, but seems that for you it's the way around

since you already mentioned that you didn't have any MG, why not try out the MG Wing?
