can use either wifi or just use the sync cable, if ur pc is connected to the net, u can use ur dopod to surf.

i have my dopod 818pro for 1 year 2 months. no problems like speaker etc. of course sometimes the s/w hang need to soft reset, never needed to do a hard reset.

dunno why people keep getting these problems

wow which rom did you use???

want to try and upgrade to wm6 as well.

btw dopod has taken 818pro out of their product lists on their website.... sad.....

i've installed bejewelled 2 and it plays fine no probs.


u can get a 2.5->3.5 mm adaptor, no need to do mod lar

so sorry to hear all ur problems using the 818pro. i think i'm considered lucky in that i didn't have any problems with it. even my speakers are still ok and never needed to change....

after 1 year & 3 months my rear speaker failed me today... dammit... was using my fon like normal, then heard cracking sound then no sound at all... soft reset, all was ok, then same thing happened.

tried opening the case to see if the wire 'cabut' or not but could not open the top 2 screws... don't enough gadgets to open...

where can i get the speaker changed in new zealand?????

dual core processor??? never heard of it, it uses omap 850 processor

btw, my speaker suddenly went back to life again! dunno what i did but i can hear my ring tone again!

wow, wm6... heard at xda development site that the wm6 roms are not that stable at the moment.

ya, if u oc battery will drain faster. i used omapclock to oc to 240, did make a difference to battery life.

guys i have a bit of a problem with vista/wmdc

just bought new lappy with vista & updated wmdc, sync was ok but everytime i sync, my device id will change to WINDOWSMOBILE30. i dunno what to do, i've deleted the profile & made new sync partnership etc but to no avail.

any help?

i have a proggie that uses registration based on device id, need to change the device id to my own & need to input reg key for it to wor again. really annoying lor.

everything else syncs fine.

sounds like your speaker problem... very common in dopod/htc. just open up your 818pro & put some paper/sponge on the speaker, did the trick for me, but it's only a temporary solution, will need to replace speaker if the trick eventually fails
