Those effect kinda DIY... I distort an image of sparks and apply some other filters and a lot of layers blending.
I guess faster way will be recycling some of the effects you used before but it depends on how much you have experimented up until now..
I learned a lot following those tutorials written by pro artist.

exactly what you wanna learn to draw? perhaps you start with basic fundamentals, studies/observation in drawing still life.

boring start = draw straight lines without using ruler/guides.. vertical and horizontal. this is like basic sword mastery in drawing
not so boring start = try doodling anything that comes to mind.. but try to reduce stroke count.. to avoid having the bulu-bulu effect
try tracing (not putting a piece of paper over a picture and trace kinda of tracing) when youre already confident with your strokes.

i've been drawing ever since the day i could remember so i cant really give much or any solid advice especially on how to begin from scratch... but i do believe that practice makes perfect, even when it comes to drawing.. so just draw draw draw and dont be surprise if there's a bump growing on your middle finger  sweat.gif

Thank you for your advice. I guess I bombarded myself with too much info (video tutorial, books etc) doh.gif

I hope I'll be able to do matte painting. Do you think taking classes will be worth it? Will it help me learn faster?
