I saw a tablet blatantly titled 'Intuos Manga' in the formerly Bamboo line from Wacom.
...The specs... ergh... Anyone here used it? Is it good or is it just a marketing ploy to snatch on the poor mangaka hopefuls out there? lol I've been using a Genius M-712X(12x7") for reference. |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Dec 25 2013, 05:40 PM) I didn't get a clear, defined answered when I asked the question myself on the forums and some Youtube videos that reviewed this. From what I can tell, we're supposed to get free, full softwares for drawing, but it depends on the region. Some say that they get them in discs along with the drivers. Some say that we have to register the product at Adobe's site to download them. I think you'll need to ask your retailer on that. |

QUOTE(DragonReine @ Dec 25 2013, 10:07 PM) It's basically Bamboo with shiny new name LOL Then marketing ploy it is.EDIT: It comes with a scaled-down version of Mange Studio, IIRC, rather like how Bamboo used to have PS Elements and stuff like that. I wish Wacom has a real competitor so we won't see the kind of bullshit we keep seeing now. |

QUOTE(seba @ Nov 24 2016, 10:46 PM) easy, yes. just time consuming to build your rep. and not just pixiv. Even on tame sites like deviantart, if you're good, people will ask for pornographic commissions in private....Now seba, i dont wanna lecture you what to do, but since you're Muslim, I am obligated to tell you 'don't'. You are a good artist. You can make a living out of honest artworks without resorting to straight up porn. You just need to find the proper platform. There was a time when I seriously considered going dirty(because you can get away with poorer art quality as long as you find the audience for your fetishes), but I ultimately refused to. Just doesnt sit right with my principals. It became the other half of the reason why I had quit drawing and started makan gaji kat kilang. Pay is dirt cheap, but I can solat more soundly knowing that my salary is halal. |

QUOTE(seba @ Nov 26 2016, 02:32 PM) Yea bro. altho I like to draw boobies and hips, I think I'll pass on drawing smut The cliche answer is deviantart.com, but it's the most prominent platform. With your skill level and favorite subjects, you can become noticeable in no time if you mingle with the community a bit(find your favorite artists and comment on them, join a group, offer a few slots for 'requests' which are basically you drawing for free, post in the forums at least once a day, etc). Can u suggest what platform? I tried showing off my works on fb groups, but nobody really give a fuck, joining Comic Fiesta countdown, also nobody give a fuck Have I ever told u about my religion tho? The other platform that I know is pixiv.net. You don't need to know complicated Japanese. Kinda hard to explain, so you should try yourself. For a less 'show-off' platform and more 'professional/lifelong learning' one, go to conceptart.org. Guys there are harsh critics, but be brave, follow community guidelines, and create a thread showing your daily artworks. Ignore the insults, take what makes sense, and be patient. Eventually you'll come across real industry players who might be interested in using you for their commercial projects. As for your religion.... isn't your bank account yours? You do know that I get to see your name through there. |

QUOTE(drpsyko @ Nov 29 2016, 12:45 AM) I got that shit for free with my Intous Draw. Thought I'd start drawing more since I'll be using an actually legit/legal copy.......But my already poor drawing skills take a deeper dive whenever I try to draw seriously with a tablet. The strokes just won't come out as accurately as I'd like and I'd end up pressing the undo button dozens of times before I can finally get ONE stroke right. I can't draw at my best unless it's direct-contact, but I'm poor and I refuse to take a loan for Cintiq, so I've been sticking to traditional art for drawing animu and use my tablet for multimedia projects instead. |

Not exactly the best thread to ask, but this is the one I'm most familliar with anyway so...
Anyone here knows where, in Malaysia, can I find a shop that sells Cintiq alternatives? Namely display tablets from brands like Huion, Yiynova, etc. Preferably walk-in shops, because I'm not comfortable with online trading for shit worth over 1k. |

QUOTE(drpsyko @ Dec 21 2016, 01:12 AM) From my research, Huion display tablets are a good bang for the buck....But nevermind that. I went to a Samsung shop a few hours ago. They had Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1(2016) With S Pen at the try tables, equipped with a sketching app, and it was a fairly responsive device as far as drawing goes. Drawing on it feels a whole lot more direct and natural to using the regular tablet while looking at the screen. Couple this with Medibang for Android and I basically have a poor man's Cintiq Companion, so it should be a definite buy, right? ...Alas, I didn't buy it. Because: 1. It's an Android tablet, and they're destined to get damaged after a few years. 2. No app on Google Play that can transform it into an actual graphics tablet to my PC, like people did with their pricy iPad Pro and Astropad app 3. At only 3GB RAM, I can't do any complex painting job on it(multiple layers, high resolution up to 10k square pixels canvas) 4. RM1.6k for something that will depreciate in value real fast is a lot in this dreadful economy of our unfortunate country A part of me still wants to buy it. A teenage me would have spent that much money in a blink of an eye, but being an adult, I feel too conflicted. I stood outside the shop for a good half hour trying to justify spending money for this, but I ultimately walked away.... Man, if our economy isn't as bad as it is now, I would've bought it in a blink. |
