QUOTE(maudermunty @ Oct 13 2012, 10:57 PM) Your rig - laptop, ipod, ps3, tv, phone (for all purpose laa) man..dr150 with vero cable, m50 , dt770 pro....and more....What type of usage - Music, Movie File format used in your source - Multiple sources Genre of music you listen to - All kind of song Headphone/ earphone type - No preference/ try and sendiri rasa Budget - below 700 I see online some people say laptops don't have a good audio system. so a good headphone is quite a waste since can't use to full capability. and I think this applies to most of the rig I listed. Thus the reason I ask the previous question. the amp is to support the laptop audio and give a better sound. So, which is better? |

QUOTE(eggypiggy @ Oct 21 2012, 07:13 PM) while for me i wanted IEM so badly it cos of the sound isolation! Yup...you are right indeed...when i get better sound isolation, most of the sound i listen is from the earphone itself. hence i just open very softly while enjoying my music. while for headphone, if the isolation is not good enough, i have to blast the volume which would be worst case while for my budget, IEM isolation seem better compare to the headphone on the range hehe~ hope this would help! Iem do have great noiae isolation....but like some iem like se535 ....they have a noise cancellation whuch is build in ....but the effect doea not protude out most of the time... Headphone have noise cancellation like bose headphones.... Noise isolatuon is something quite impossible to be done in headphones but I. prefer headphones to iems most of the time.... |

QUOTE(jackyyong @ Oct 22 2012, 11:11 AM) * sigh * can portability and sound quality come in a same package? I travel to work in LRT, so I prefer something like wrap-around or clip-on headphones. I do not like IEMs, coz of hygiene and comfort issues. I already have a pair of Fanny Wang, they sound really good, but they are too big, so it is banished in the store room. (What a waste huh?) I have a pair of Koss Porta Pro, they are really good, but they are very uncomfortable especially after the foam paddings are worn off. I think open back type will suit your current circumstance .....like ms1I or even grado series.....look for jaben for expert advice....theu are willing to serve you anytimeAny good suggestions? Well...for a short intro about the drvero ....
The drvero works well with acoustic songs or instrumental...since the can has a very precise separation or I mean transparency...but when it comes to pop songs like maroon 5.....( one of my favorite band ) the songs will. be focus more on the instrumental part rather than the backstage singer or the singers' themselves..... For that case I had chosen the fa006 ( recommanded by wilzc.....sorry if I spell it wrongly....hehe....) the bass is more on it....it has the grados sr60 or even 80's potential.....but with more bass.....accurate bass....quite an all rounder to me.....I played some instrumental songs like yiruma's river flows in you...( piano track... ) every key on the of the piano is separated quite well done....but this can has less transparency.... for your infomation..... Well....since everyone has their own taste in music.....so its like what music will suit your liking...pop...acoustic...instrumental...or even metals...and more.....every can have their own potential on different genres .... QUOTE(Ronald ho @ Oct 29 2012, 09:46 PM) how much you bought your fa006?how bout superlux headphones ?for clear or bass? Fa006 suits the requirement that you stated above.....until now because the headphone still under burn in period....the fa006 is a very detail headphone ...you can even hear the gulp and gasp of the singer...sometimes....and the headphone is slightly brighter....but I usually pair with martini + so that the sound will be slightly warmer....sparkling mids is the best word that I can describe...as for bass...its just ample instead of overwheming and tight!! the bass are accurate and you can sometimes able to guess how many instruments are there in a song.....hope that my little review over here could help you...Added on October 29, 2012, 9:46 pm how much you bought your fa006?how bout superlux headphones ?for clear or bass? The normal price is about rm 650...but you can get discount from jaben...don't worry.....Superlux is a studio.monitor headphone....so the isolation is slightly better than fa006...the soundstage of the superlux is like the last row of a concert where you can hardly focus on the singer's lyric....and there are slight echoes going on in the headphone.....the bass is quite deep and detail...but not as detail as the fa006...
