wow someone mastered it. Dragonfly the closer you get the nicer it is. For your info taking still objects are the easiest it wont run. Try take bee flying from flower to flower. Try take a bird . Those are challenging not still objects

Thanks for your compliment sifu notworthy.gif , still no where as ur 38MP showcase gallery brows.gif . While I'm practicing with N8 recently, i learn that the traditional center way would aid me on trying out the full resolution focus shots. So i just use what i learn on N8 to 808, luckily it does pay off a little, but still learning...

As for bees or birds, they don't come by my area (i even wander my neighborhood in search of them in the morning during weekends while jogging laugh.gif ) .But i don't think im at that level yet to capture fast moving object, and i haven't learn their behavior sweat.gif ...or worst.. will the bee sting me? haha

I will take ur advice for the next challenge in future. thumbup.gif Rooms for improvement i guess...

First of, "for fun and practice", y so serious? biggrin.gif It was never intended to compete. so im not sure why sifu are so speechless with it laugh.gif

Secondly, i already been there, and i know how stock camera performs smile.gif But, even with crop or lossless zoom, you are still bound to 15cm focal distance, here, im at 10cm now (same as N8) smile.gif Without using zoom at all (Preserving pureview supersampling, if using in 8mp/5mp/3mp ), and significant bokeh & details. Just wana c how to improve on utilizing the 38MP in macro (well, in that case i guess you haven't seen David Detko FLICKR's with the use of Minolta MD Rokkor lens in 808 for creativity shots tongue.gif ) FYI, the reason i crop at 1st is that i haven't get used to the "new" focal distance for the "new lens" yet. You can refer to my full 38MP shots without crop on 2nd shot, which is my true intention.

Your sample shot here clearly uses zoom (although no cropping), thus Pureview supersampling is lost at this stage, if you viewed at original resolution, you'll see what i mean) anyway, as usual your shots are at best and im not making a comparison here. Just to be clear.

3rdly, this is just a test\experiment of my own. End of story. Though might be interesting to share and gather some useful guides on improving the test. Guess I'm on my own then whistling.gif
