Hi all. Just thought I'd ask what is the current recommended PDA out there to get now. I was looking through the hx2490 or the 51v but then my friend suggested the 1950. Was checking out the reviews on CNET and come to realise that the 51v has less battery life, and the 1950 is very basic. So I'm confused. What are the better ones out there?

Criterias:
1.) Long Battery Life.
2.) Windows Mobile 5
3.) Wi- Fi
4.) No phone
5.) Bluetooth
6.) Something that wouldn't require daily reset

Intended use:
1.) Mainly for keeping schedules
2.) Light gaming/media/mp3
3.) Something that could last me for a while, and not realise that its obsolete next month.

Price is no object. Pure PDA, no phone. Or are there any better ones that I should wait for?
Thanks for taking the time to read, and gong xi fa cai.

sincerely,
Jin

Try HP new range any models! If you want to have a PDA that comes with less 'reset' my advice is only install 3rd party software that you need only. My PDA also need to be done 'soft reset' from time to time and sometimes 'hard reset' because some 3rd party software somehow 'jammed' the PDA! I've learn my mistake and I'm passing this down to you!

Hope this helps!

I'd have suggested the HX4700 if you needn't WM5 and do not mind the the price & bulkiness. Go for VGA PPC, Dell 51v.

Hmm...thank you all for your feedback, but i heard the dell 51v has very limited batt. life...any confirmations?

I considered the 2790 as well but just thought i really dont need such a speedy /powerful one...although the fingerprint recognition sounds awesome, thus the 2490/2495 seemed a better candidate. Although everyone seems to recommend the 51v...i guess i should go to the shop and really check out both models.

still undecided,

Yeap. Buy for their all-in-coverage warranty. It's worth it. Just RM60+ extra.

You don't have to worry about battery when you carry another set. Definitely you could afford a spare battery.

do u mean dell 51v can change the batt as like a handphone?. If it is, then it's easy. cos compared to my palm, it needs to be sent all the way to singapore just to have the batt replaced.

A word of advice, look for something that will not lose value over time.

From my experience, I always tempted with new pdas, so resale value is also an important criteria for me.

For me, I will try to get a pda that has everything built in. Wifi and Bluetooth should no longer be an option but a must in a pda.

You should also try to look into the prospects of having GPS builtin in you pda.

This is a very useful feature and I can say that with all these feature built in, your pda will be one of the longest lasting in the market.
