I also thought so, but the profit includes one-off gain on disposal of 4% of Thai AirAsia shares.

...the AirAsia Berhad investment in Thai AirAsia is now accounted for in accordance with MFRS128 Investments in Associates, which requires that the equity method be used.

Kuala Lumpur (Aug 29) – INGENUITY SOLUTIONS BHD [] (Ingens) announced to Bursa Malaysia Wednesday that it has on Aug 29 received a letter from Ninetology, offering to purchase “all and not partial of the shares” held by Chin Boon Long and three privates companies at an offer price of 55 sen per share.
Chin, Firstwide Success Sdn Bhd, Landasan Simfoni Sdn Bhd and Titanium Hallmark Sdn Bhd together hold a total of 214,297,656 ordinary shares of RM0.10 each in Ingens, representing 39.44% of shares in Ingens, Ingens said.
In its announcement, Ingens said there was a condition laid for the offer.
“This offer stands for 14 days from today. The offer will only be executed on the premise that all and not one or some of the above named persons accepts the offer unconditionally,” it highlighted in the announcement.
In a separate filing at noon, the company requested for a trading halt immediately to 9.00 am Thursday.
In its Bursa filings, Ingens also said it had on Wednesday requested for Ninetology to furnish details of the corporate exercise that Ninetology intends to propose to Ingens, background of Ninetology and the names of its directors and major shareholders, as well as their respective shareholdings.
In addition, Ingens also wanted to know the principal activities and latest financial information of Ninetology.
“The Company had on 29th August 2012 written to Ninetology to request for the above information, and is still waiting for a response from Ninetology,” it said.
Ingens also highlighted that the information on Ninetology as disclosed in its announcement dated 15th August 2102 was based solely on information provided by Ninetology and there has been no due diligence done on the company.
Two days ago, Ninetology had said in a press invite it would announce its “intention” to take over Ingens on Thursday. However, shares of Ingens did not fly after the news as the market was sceptical about the seriousness of this deal.
Ingens rose in morning trade to end at 39.5 sen after rising 4.5 sen or 12% on trades of 25.27 million shares. On Wednesday, it was bashed down by 20.5%.

as for the change in useful life, the company can change as they wish or they change it only when it happens.. for eg: estimated five years and five years is due during last quarter but still usable so they din change?
