Datasonic Group Bhd has entered into an agreement to acquire a 30% stake in Electric Vehicle Automotive (M) Sdn Bhd (EVAM), an entity that intends to undertake an electric vehicle (EV) project in Malaysia.

Datasonic said EVAM plans to undertake the development of EV for tropical megacities in Malaysia.

It added that EVAM is currently working on the details of the transfer of technology and know-how from foreign experts into Malaysia, and with the technology and existing research and development (R&D) prototype unit, it would embark on developing the commercial prototype for commercialisation.
