1. Manual unlocking using the key - When unlocking using the key, can the alarm be disarmed without the remote?
as i was told, just slot in the key fob and the alarm will off itself... didn't try that yet.
okay, good to know in the event in the future, i have to manually unlock the car.

2. Starting the ignition - I remember some other members experienced the same issue: after a long period of inactivity, say several hours, when the car engine is started again, there is a really short loud grinding sound from the engine.
sometimes happens to mine as well, and of coz mine got the OWV issue... still waiting for them to call me, just after raya so guessing should be next month then.
But i do realized that, if step the brakes twice (before ignition) and harder, sometimes no krek krek sound or softer... wonder if we need to step on brake harder or twice just to get the engine started properly...sensor problem?
i was told by the mechanic after my 1st service that i don't need to step too hard on the brake. and yet, when i don't step too hard, the grinding sound is still there upon a cold start. but this morning, i tried it again, and there wasn't any grinding sound.... hmm... i'll have to keep trying.

3. The car is very sluggish at slow speeds or when moving from stop. Will a retune or remap of ECU (whatever that is) help?
dont worry about this, mine before 1st service also similar, but during1st service, i did ask them to check the ecu/tcu whether the settings were ok, as experiencing higher fuel consumption.
after 1st service, car becomes more responsive but still unable to achieve good fc for 100% city drive with stop n go traffic. compare to other owner...could be due to OWV?
i've not noticed any major changes in responsiveness, i suppose, i'll have to drive it more to really take note.

5. Steering wheel veers to the left slightly - Tyre balancing and re-alignment needed? Will Proton do this as part of the servicing?
before 1k km can get it free, but you have to check whether that sc got the machine to do it or not... sadly to say setapak 3s still not yet setup their machine... wonder if insufficient skilled mechanic or lazy to setup.
i too was told before the 1km mark, it would be free. however, my sales assistant booked me into a 3rd party Proton authorised service centre, and not the main Proton 3S service centre. i was pretty disappointed. otherwise, i would have that sorted out already.

6. Rear left wheel/suspension creaks when turning at low speeds or going up the hill.
you can tell them to tighten up whatever was loose. then try see if still got that sound.
found out the issue, it was a poorly secured back seat, solved!
QUOTE
7. Dashboard rattles/vibrates, particularly when accelerating at lower gears/speeds.
i got this also, some owner don't have this... maybe when install reverse camera, then ask the acc shop to put some insulation tape or something to reduce/eliminate it.
need to wait till i'm free to install camera, who gonna order that sony ccd camera that fix on the rear plate lamp?
i'm thinking of getting a camera installed as well, i'll have to read back in the old posts to see which dealers the forum members are happy with, and i wonder for how much.

8. ESC indicator on the console - Lights up on when lights switched on. Shouldn't it light up when with the lights switched off?
ss long as ESC is working
i suppose you have a point. as long as it's working yea.
QUOTE
10. Left front grill of the front fog lights is covereed versus the right side.... I think a member hightlighted this before; is this intentional?
yes, the driver side is covered while passenger side not.
hmm.... but why is this so ah?
QUOTE
11. GPS maps/software - Do they upgrade it often with each servicing?
need to buy it from proton sc to get updated map, someone mentioned next year can buy the updated version...
oh okay, kewl. just replace the SD card from the concealed card slot yea.
QUOTE
12. Head lamp leveling switch next to the Start/Stop button is abscent - Not available for M'sian models?
oh, so that's what its for...
yeah, sad we don't have that option installed. i think it's an important feature to use whilst on the highway.
QUOTE
13. Head light flasher will not turn off when lever is pulled inwards slightly and released.
try use the high beam when using led light and driving light, u will found out the difference. also, the front fog lamp, do test it out
yeah, i noticed when only the LED lights are switched on, there isn't an issue. only with the dipped lights on, depressing the lever slightly doesn't release it. i haven't test it with the front fog lamps yet. i'll have to test it out.

2.u got the sound often?if not then not a problem...if always got sound and detected oil leak, then is a big problem..OWV
there isn't any any leak noticed, but what does OWV stand for?
QUOTE
3.after 1k sevice will better, and told the sc about the sluggish, maybe they will check/remap ecu for u
oh okay, well, i'll have to keep driving to take note. also, disappointed as my car was sent to a 3rd party authorised Proton service centre, as opposed to a 3S one. so the mechanic only gave the excuse it's normal for the Preve to be sluggish. performance will only kick in after 3000rpm.....
QUOTE
5.alignment needed, free before 1k...some sc give u free also even over 1k for 1st service
once again, not the Proton 3S, hence they didn't have balancing/wheel alignment facilities. i'm not happy with my SA

QUOTE
8.swtich off will light up a esc off light, when esc on button beside HU will light up
oh, i'll have to spot this later.
QUOTE
10.left side not covered cos need air for cooling the intercooler located there
ooooooh.... noob question. what does an intercooler do? nevermind, i just looked it up, it's to cool the turbocharger of the Prevé engine right? that's the fan i heard after the engine is turn off?
QUOTE
13.flasher will not off if headlamp on...only work when headlamp off...
oh.... is that true? hmm.... then, not a fault, but designing flaw i would think

because, i feel if you're driving at night, with dipped headlamps, then you wanna flash, have to keep pressing the lever hard in to turn off and on. that's just a minor inconvenience.
