mine... early morning i insert the key. press twice and wait for the engine to check finish. start the car after a minute.... then straight drive also no jerking... but i dont on air con first... air till heat ewnt 2 or 3 bar first.
*
my SA who attended Proton Preve workshops were told to advise their customers to press the start button TWICE for the car to initiate checks to the engine and other systems before stepping on the break and hitting the start button the 3rd time to start the ignition.

the SA's were told that they found starting the engine only after hitting the start button ONCE, showed higher failure rates of the start/stop button upon testing.

just FYI to users if this info wasn't dispersed to the community as yet.

good morning

does any one the exact model for the Bosch HU and the Blaupunkt speakers?

i would like to replace those stock speakers to better ones, but i'm not sure if the Bosch HU would be under-powered from the new set. i like to keep the current Bosch HU, as it suffice my needs.

Any ideas , are these good speakers ?

my 2011 Honda City produces way better SQ compared to the Proton Preve stock IMHO. even in the highest treble and bass setting, there is very obvious lack in the mids, sibilance in the highs and poor bass reproduction. hence my intention to replace them.

cant remember... but i tested it first before i get it into my car... and come with built in tweeter... because i dont like the 2 tweeter hangling around the dashboard. looked so weird. overall i am statisfy with it.. RM200 - RM250 should get a decent speaker la...

where are u staying? maybe u should join me this saturday coz i will finish my remain sound proofing this weekend.. sound proof on fender, firewall, floor, roof, bonner and boot.

u can also see and feel the car with sound proof also.. then u decide u wanna do sound proof later or not.
*
ah okay. yeah, i was considering going down the route of 2-in-1 tweeter and 16cm 2-way speakers for the front as i don't fancy placing the tweeters on the dashboard.... would make it look tacky tongue.gif

i'm near ttdi, but what time are you heading in for your sound-proofing as i have plans made already in the afternoon. some have recommended this ICE shop at Damansara Uptown. heard about it?

sure, if i'm free, i would like to join you to see how the sound proofing is done smile.gif

SweeJ,
i stays near SS6 kelana Jaya and did mine at 1 of the shop at SS3. good services and experience installer. did almost most of my think there.. can nego 9 9 with them.

i will be there at saturday morning for sound proof and maybe. they will wash your car after they done. lol.. not bad services right? i dont like to go those famous and many ppl shop. u get no priority from them as a customer... so my advise.. go any shop which provide good service and willing to listen to customer.

of coz.. if u really scare con... do your homework before you buy. and google will be your best friend.

oh yeah.. u might be the first one here to see the first preve with shark fin antenna. tongue.gif
oh yeah? hmmm.... well, i'll PM you to find out more details and see if i have time in the morning to come out for a while to see what they do.

and also to check out your shark fin antenna wink.gif

heh heh!

does the new antenna improve the signal of your FM/AM frequencies?

and where did you get it from?

my thoughts and prayers are with the family during this trying time.

on a lighter-note, i find it endearing that Fulat's wife is into Low Yat forums and follows her husband's hobbies and also threads smile.gif

what type of speaker you replace it with? with or without amp?
*
well, based on my price range, he offered for me to listen and auditioned for 1, 4 and 5.

1. Boston Acoustics
2. Rainbow SCX 265
3. Eton Pro
4. Focal IS 165
5. RS-Audio Smart series

they're listed according to the increasing price range. so i just sat in the car while i listen to my favourite tunes for each of the installed set.

i ended up with the RS-Audios. they sound like much better than the Boston Acoustics in terms of trebles and mids and clarity. while the Focals put a smile on my face over the BA's, the RS-Audios had the edge in mids and forward trebles even more. no distortions even at very high levels of playing. with the RS-Audios, even at neutral setting on the stock HU, i found it produced plenty of clarity and the mids were sufficient. playing Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden reveal every single detail in the song i've never heard of. i was in bliss then smile.gif my smile turned into esctasy tongue.gif

all these above can be drived unamped very well, as the dealer advised these days, most consumers don't wanna invest in an amp, and just wanna throw in some nice components and just have great producing sounds without much hassle.

Yo yo SweeJ, all the components speaker u listed are good components speaker (high end brand), it will be a bit sayang if u dun invest on a 4 channel amp. Its a wise choice for selecting RS- Audio, very rich on the mids. somemore made in germany. Trust me invest on an amp with 4x150 rms @ 4 ohms , sure can drive ur RS- Audio to be crazy !!!:)
*
yo yo yumeno!

well, firstly, i bo lui la lol! tongue.gif

so, i tentatively, i thought the best bang for my buck would be to invest in a good component 2-way set to achieve the maximum audio experience for what i can afford at present.

yeah, the dealer was very enthusiastic to point out that RS-Audio are Germans ICE afficionados.

in the near future, i would most definitely go for an amp to further drive the RS-Audios. and then perhaps a sub-woofer thrown in later.

but i agree, i had a huge grin and sigh of joy when i heard the speakers able to bring out those mids from my favourite acoustic/rock tunes.

so you have experience in RS-Audios then? what amps would you recommend for them? again, nothing too pricey please smile.gif

How much would these approximately cost?
*
erm.... i don't wanna say how much he offered it to me, however, it was a very good price versus his competitors. and while i didn't even ask for it, he included insulation and cost of labour into a single figure.

while i've seen online dealers sell this model for RM1999 (even at discounted/sale price), let's just say his price was very very reasonable and fair wink.gif

hah hah! naw, not really, but i am a musician, and i find with the stock speakers, even with the treble and bass pumped to the max, i notice i'm straining to hear for the details i normally get at my home set up, and also i get hearing fatigue after a while.

and why not, i mean, if you spend a good chunk of your life on the road, let your car be a haven in the midst of your daily traffic and commute, and enjoy music, instead of getting stressed out on the roads, right? wink.gif

RS- Audio is power hunger components speaker, u feed her more power, she give u MORE !! If u got the budget, u can try :
Genesis profile 4 channel amp, this will be the perfect match. (Pricey)
Xetec vector 4 channel amp (not sure still got production or not)
Steg and Audison also not bad de...
*
oh alright. so say, for the Genesis Profile 4, are we looking at around RM1500?

rs audio component speaker got tweeter? if got where u guys install it? i also plan to change my preve speaker, poisoned by fulat last time...

yeap, it includes tweeters.

i had mine installed at CV Audio, Damansara Upton. Peter is your man. very helpful, friendly and honest. he will allow you to audition several speakers at your leisure, and you decide which ones is the most suitable based on your budget and value for money.

the problem is i am in Miri, Sarawak >< wat is the model btw? so the tweeter u install at where? stick at dash there? or the tweeter is together with the driver?
*
aww.... maybe you can find a dealer in Miri who stocks it, or would be able to order it for you.

there are different ranges to the RS-Audio speakers, i believe, however, with my price range, he suggest the Smart series, which is what i went for. the sound is amazing! so, i can't imagine how much better if you went for say the Pro series or higher range ones.

http://rs-audio.de/englisch/products/systems.html

initially, i was concerned about the aesthetics of the tweeters being installed in such a way it would make the dashboard look very tacky and misplaced. but they're very professional and i'm very happy with the way it was placed. in fact, they're so discreet, after awhile, you hardly noticed. they placed it vertically on the medial aspect of the A-pillars just at the upper border of the side defroster vents, as advised so that the tweeters are nearly at the level of your ears, to create a greater sound stage.

hmm... i could post photos, however, i dunno how to post photos on this forum.... anyone care to help?
