Read you guys discussion. One thing I don't understand, is that a good frame so important? Groupset, I understand... But frame quality is important as well?

budget 2013 - government sponsor rm1000 for each bike purchase. sounds good?

this year is utilizing the 10speed tiagra as opposed to 9 on the 903 you saw...and the price is around RM3.1k...

it's cheap and rideable is all i can say... don't expect too much out of it... it won't be a bad bike for a beginner...

only 2 things you won't know... condition of the bike, never trust owner and check it out for yourself if you are really interested... and if the sizing is right for you?

i am not saying a 2nd hand bike is no good... but you definitely have to factor in if there are any problems that might pop up and catch you by surprise since you won't know how well the owner took care of it... and you will have no support from the bike shop he bought it from since they don't know you..

ask the owner to see how old is the bike before you decide further...

on a another note, a current 901 which has only a sora 9s is about RM2.5k and i think the shop might include you some accessories like meters, lights and maybe helmet... i heard them selling to a customer the other day...

ohh...u should then stick to your shop in your area...i know they do distribute their bikes to other states...maybe you should tkae some time and look around

i think for 5'8". size 52 should be your limit. personally, i'd go with size 50.

you can try contacting some of the shops here. some of these shops are willing to ship you a complete bike. i've seen bikepro and avanti do it.

Buy BMC: cheaper, nice riding experience, but what kind of opportunity riding experience forgone if im were to riding Pinarello... how's the feel of riding Italian horse when riding Swedish horse...

Buy Pinarello: more expensive, feel like boss when riding it, but are these riding experience im enjoying worth every penny i paid compared to BMC which much cheaper? are the italian horse worth every penny?

depends on what u want. the cheap ones like ironmag can provide good protection too. actually, cheap or expensive, branded or not, they provide the same safety features (because designed to the same standard). the differences are; cool factor, ventilation, lightweight, etc. for example, a rm800 helmet can have 24 vents for good ventilation, weighs only 220g. a rm100 helmet will protect ur head the same as the expensive helmet, just that it can only achieve that with much less vents, maybe 8 vents, and weighs 400g. just an example.

reasonable price to me might be unreasonable to you, vice versa. so quite hard to answer ur question.
