The pay will depends how good you are and which industry you are.
There is TOOOO many software engineers in the market but the good one is less.
Assume the skill level is from 1 to 10. Fresh graduate is level 1.
Some ppl work for 10 years but the skill level might be only 3, but some ppl work for 2 years already can reach level 3.
This is one of the reason why some young ppl earns more but some old ppl earns less.
