His post contains 2 stupids.

QUOTE
Solution: Release Ladder, with no RMAH and no GAH. The bartering system, while primitive, seems to avoid all the problems of the AH system.

AH will just be driven into non-official sites just like D2, where people get scammed.

QUOTE
Before they doubled it, it was probably possible to beat the game with 98/99 gear. So it might take a few days to farm the top 1%/2% gear, but you can do it without much sweat. But once they "doubled it," instead of being able to beat the game with 98/99 gear, you must do it with 99.99 or 99.999 gear, the top 0.01% or 0.001% gear.

You can beat the game with 98/99. Many of us LYNers have done so before 1.03

True. But think of it this way. Diablo games were always about the item hunt. Look at D2. Unless you're years into the game, you always had the chance of finding something good. I did Mephisto runs for years in college, and there was always an excitement to getting rares/uniques - there was always a chance something was useful for one of my characters.

D3 is 2 months old and I can barely find upgrades anymore. The focus has turned into getting items to sell for a bit of gold, and accumulating enough to get an upgrade off the AH.

Agree, you hit it right on the nail. AH allowed people shortcut the whole gearing up process where you're supposed to slowly find new upgrades, and be happy.

D3 was designed so that it would take months for bad players like me to finish Inferno. Heck I was stuck in D2 nightmare for months and never got out. But in D3 thanks to AH, I spent my 2m+ to buy some gears, and then cleared Inferno pre-1.03 with those gears.

in his own words, he already stated the EXACT reason why ppl used AH, its their choice to use it or not, so when they decide to use it, why blame the system when its your own choice?

i have repeated this alot of time already lol, some players just dont get it

actiblizz beta game release problem aside ok, ALL the rest of the issues that grew out were due to the fact that players MADE their own choices HOW they want to play the game.

for example, botting, AH flipping, buying the top tier gears they could find available on RMAH.

actiblizz didnt point a gun at you to use the AH system, you pointed the gun at yourself, and you are blaming the company, so yea lol

The part where it becomes "forced" is not Blizzard pointing a gun to your head, but the difficulty curve of pre-1.03.

You farm easier content to gear up to progression content. Farm Act 1 to clear Act 2, farm Molten Core to go Blackwing Lair. But Act 2 was such an insane leap of difficulty, then you found the lv61 stuff you get from Butchers runs are completely inadequate against Act 2. Do you remember those 500dps lv61 weapons in the 1st week of release and thought they were awesome? Well they do nothing against pre-1.03 Act 2 mobs. Farming Act 1 over and over will not help you beat Act 2. So here comes the "forced" part, people turn to AH to get Act 2 progression gear.

true about the progression part, the difficulty gap was designed in a weird way that seemed impossible, BUT, its the final difficulty lvl inferno, so does making it easier WILL improve the gameplay or not? you decide, before the 1.0.3 patch, a minority of ppl were ALREADY farming act4 inferno, so why do they have an advantage over the majority that couldnt? food for thought bro.

AH was there as an OPTION for players to take the highway to the end. Not a neccesity.

And do you remember how those gears got into the AH if the difficulty spike was so large that it was supposedly unfarmable?

Underbridge, chest exploits, goblin resets, 3 second SS, mantra of healing, Tyreal. Even Kripp was doing goblin runs for days nonstop.

Yes, I saw a couple of posts in BNet that outlined this as well.

In D2, you could continually farm Act 1 to progress in Act 2.
In D3, you had to farm Act 2 for gear to progress through Act 2. Which essentially forms now famous 'Wall'.

Exactly! I bought lv62 gears form AH so I won't get one-shotted in a content that drops lv62 laugh.gif

I think Act 4 is the only one that feels underbaked. hmm.gif

Act 2 and 3 are pretty nice and loaded with events.
