This is bullshit. Client ALWAYS rejects visual. Getting the visual approve with 1st try is the RARE scene. That's why some company will prepare 2 design / 2 concepts for client to choose.

The boss have to see the art director's portfolio and skills before hiring him. Such mistake can be easily avoid by giving more information during the interview.

Reduce offer = slap your own face. This is too evil for ANY industry.

Erm, this is subjected to the project workload too. I have seen many art directors in small studio do project by themselves. This is quite common in web design field. Sometimes you are more like a "senior designer" than an "art director".

Regardless, if they simply push a big project and expect u to handle it alone with unrealistic timeline. That's the time u need to have serious talk with the project manager / account executive / boss.
