I went to the shop today and noticed Rommel's Sdkfz 250 "Greif" on the shelves. Damn, why is it so tiny? Is it built to scale?

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Aug 23 2012, 10:00 AM) if you thought that is small Hahaha...thanks. The size of the halftrack looks believable in comparison to the Elefant - the Porsche, not so much.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « that is in scale with the rest as well This post has been edited by PzGman: Aug 24 2012, 02:53 AM |

Damn, why'd they have to pick such an unattractive tank as the Churchill for the latest issue! Yeah, it's got thick armor but it looks outdated and really...it's ugly

QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Sep 2 2012, 12:10 AM) QUOTE(MikeSAS1992 @ Sep 2 2012, 12:13 AM) It was Hitler's fault that Germany lost the war as he took on all the major powers at the same time. German war output couldn't keep up with the Allies because their weapons were expensive and time consuming to produce so they lost. |

QUOTE(MikeSAS1992 @ Sep 2 2012, 12:08 AM) Yeah, the Leopard 2A5 rules QUOTE(Tiger I @ Sep 3 2012, 12:18 PM) Designwise Panzer IV was erm, designed back in the early days before the War, and proved to be a good design, albeit outdated do spawn StuG, Panzerjager IV, Hummel, Ostwind, Winberwind, etc That or the German were very creative in producing plenty of variances from one design Yes, they had many types of AFVs. The Germans couldn't manufacture enough tanks during the war so they made a lot of different types to compensate for this deficiency. Then they started to make tanks without rotating turrets (e.g. StuGs, Marders, Panzerjagers) because they were cheaper, simpler and quicker to produce. QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Sep 3 2012, 07:13 PM) The Germans were pretty advanced in their war machine making and can considered ahead of their time at one point. Yup. Check out the 128 mm gun mounted on the Jagdtiger. A gun of this caliber was not seen on an MBT until the late 70s. For comparison's sake, the main gun mounted on the M1A2 Abrams is only 120 mm! |

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Sep 4 2012, 07:12 AM) Tank destroyers as such were build without turret since it fills its role pretty well: destroying tanks in ambush. Turret was compensated with more frontal armor to avoid penetration. TD main weaknesses are flanking attack since its side and rear armour aren't as thick as the front ones, and it can't be used on assault since turretless design isn't as flexible as one with turret. Correct! For a girl, you know a lot about tanks. |

My wishlist: KV-1, Hetzer, Panther, Kingtiger, T34-85 and maybe a StuG IV. I'll stop collecting after that.

QUOTE(MikeSAS1992 @ Sep 14 2012, 11:16 PM) dont be surprised. The Germans would have come out a much better tank by then as well. Leopard 3 ? Or maybe Leopard 4 ? who knows ? Yeah, I hope so. Modern tanks nowadays prioritize on crew safety, like the Abrams. I just wish the Americans would stop calling their tank as the greatest ever. |
