Yeah I think so too. I want to play DayZ as well but don't want to spent so much on ARMA II coz i won't even touch the actual game. I just want to try DayZ.

Hope it has a flash sale like 75% drool.gif

Trying to avoid DLC as much as possible. Want to grab the base game, try it and I believe base itself is already have quite a lot of content which can keep me entertain for awhile. Svae money from buying those collection with DLC, more cash to try out more games!

I am getting Oblivion for collection sake, but Trine 2? It is worth the co-op play time smile.gif Cheap, decently fun and innovative too. Should give it a try especially if you can find kaki to play with.

*I used to be picky...until I started to check this poisonous Steam thread out.

I am getting Oblivion for collection sake, but Trine 2? It is worth the co-op play time  smile.gif  Cheap, decently fun and innovative too. Should give it a try especially if you can find kaki to play with.

*I used to be picky...until I started to check this poisonous Steam thread out.
*

Clicked Assassin Creed 2 liao, Damange $4.99.

Now have to resist Oblivion temptation. cry.gif better dont win, I voted it. sweat.gif

For those who want to buy Arkham City, better wait for the GOTY edition.
You should be able to play the game in offline mode with all the DLC then.

I think Wargame Europe Escalation could be interesting. Been hearing a lot of positive feedback from people who have played it with Eugen, the developers supporting the game very well with updates and free DLC content. If i am not wrong, even if you dont want to play MP, the skirmish AI is very competent too for comp stomps.

It seems a lot harder to play compared to SC2 or CoH, due to the game's depth where you need to manage your flanks and supply to your units.

Highly recommended from me, its funny at time and it is fun as hell to do all the crazy stuff with the grappling hook, like using the hook to drop the enemies off the ledge. The story is quite alright too.

Still, if you are buying, i recommend you to start playing the game on Casual, because the game's difficulty ramps up exponentially towards the end.

I played about 40 hours.

Probably 15 hours in campaign, while the rest is spent messing around in the game. Like hijacking cars, scenic drive, trolling with cops, and so on.

That will be Driver Sans Fransisco.

The other 2 isnt very good. Test Drive is buggy, but otherwise decent game. Hot Pursuit is just garbage in every way, considering the MP is dead now and its garbage single player.

It's worth it only if you use them at the start. Some are there jst for lulz. And with the MP mod coming soon, using them against players would be pretty cool.

Driver Sans Fransisco. That is probably the best driving i played last year.

The rest, dont bother. Hot Pursuit is garbage unless you got friends for MP, while Test Drive is buggy.

I have finished it, and i actually find the single player story to be actually quite good. Kinda love the twist at the end which is awesome while at the beginning, i like how they design their missions to be rather entertaining like trying to scare the driving instructor to reduce the tuition fees or troll around in an expensive late game to annoy the sales man.

Multiplayer wise, i love the coop, but unfortunately, split screen is only available on console. Their twist on survival mode is amazing where you get tonnes of cops driving like mad man chasing you where you drive from checkpoint to checkpoint in different cars. It is funny.

This video actually convinced me to buy the game. Yea, its TB's videos again but i admit he does his job quite well.

It is Criterion with their lies. Even if they put shit in the box and sell it to you, they'll still get 86 out of 100.

Zone Alarm is my firewall + Anti-virus. Its only my security software. What I mean in in previous post "full expose to net" is really FULL exposed no security software at all.

I dont really wanna drag this ubirant thing out of topic in steam thread. But yeah....

Actually my previous post is my rant post or also serve as a warning to any new customer what I am experiencing. Dont buy Ubifail thing. mad.gif 5 bucks USD already can test UbiFail color. haiz. Already contact Ubifail customer support liao -.-

This isn't steam, but http://www.gog.com/news/gog_gem_promo_the_...s_the_witcher_2

It's 50% for an individual game but 66% for the pack.

But the best part? If you already own one of the games, you can still buy the bundle and they'll subtract the price of the game that you already own, while still applying the 66% off instead of the 50% off!

Although they don't win, I think some games do come out as flash sales or daily, so keep your eye out for them.

I voted for Simcity 4 Deluxe, although I already have it. Still EA, but pre-Origin. Best city simulator ever when you combine it with the NAM. biggrin.gif

CitiesXL just plain suck.

I couldn't care less for Anno cuz it's from Ubisoft with their always-online DRM. No thanks.

I didn't need a CD Key to play GTA IV. I bought it during the Christmas sale.

Play offline, that is. Using a 'Local Profile' in GFWL so saved games are not transferable.

Fortune Summoners is the first game I've bought from the daily deal. Others before it all comes from normal discounting or flash/community deals.

Anyone thinking of STALKER, should get it. One of the best FPS I've played.

Doesn't have any complex RPG element, just equipment upgrades. But there are more things going on around which makes it more fun than a typical corridor shooter.

Just be warned Stalker is really buggy. The complete mod fixes quite a number of them, but there were still some. The last time I played I got stuck among some rocks I couldn't get out from, and lost 30 minutes of savegame progress. xD

Yeah... S.T.A.L.K.E.R is quite buggy, if you know the specific bug, best to avoid. Save everytime you can btw.

For me, I do love S.T.A.L.K.E.R, the environment is very nice, it's like you can actually feel to be in the game if you enjoy it properly. The AI is not like generic shooter which you can simply guerrilla on them.

Considering how much I have 'ahem' on my Medieval2/Rome - I am thinking of getting the pack now to compensate for it. Problem is, it is very likely that I won't be playing it at all (bought at least 3 new grand-strategy games and still haven't complete my Rise of Samurai too).

Hmm - any comments? Buy for collection or skip this, and buy others for gaming only?

*On Stardock games, damn, Dread Lords are still pricey for such an old game.

Wouldn't use SC2 for comparison - this game plays more like Civilization or Alpha Centauri to me. In one sentence; you build up your planets, tech up (research) new stuff, expand to new planets, and build your space armada - and run down ignorant rivals/AIs if they dare to stand in your way (or simply wipe them out for fun).

*Think most people played/gotten Recettear already but if you haven't, please click <warning -NSFW language> spoiler below for the reason to buy the game:

Well, there are a couple of games that i actually bought it on steam to redeem my sins for pirating it. Namely Flatout 2 because i played the game a lot when i was 14.

If you have the money, you could buy those games.

Yea, it plays more like Supreme Commander in space than other strategy games. It is paced very well, in a way that the game will never overwhelm you with too many things to do.

I actually have 4 games to consider now. Either Sim City 4, Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl or Call of Pripyat and Thief 3.

I like city building and Sim City 4 with mods might offer me what i am looking for.

Stalker, i think i got on the wrong start with the series because i started with Clear Sky. So, might try to get one of the other game but im not sure which game.

Thief 3, i want to try the infamous Cradle mission where it was said to be one of the scariest level ever

if you dont mind spending more, i think Rebellion, the standalone game for Sins of Solar empire offer a much better value than Trinity. The reason being Rebellion offers a lot more content than Trinity.

However, if this is the first time you try the series, Trinity would be a good option too since its cheap but you are missing out quite a lot of cool stuff that Rebellion brings.

See whether you like detective games or not. It's not like GTA4 action pack all the way. Some people might get put off by this genre.

See whether you like detective games or not. It's not like GTA4 action pack all the way. Some people might get put off by this genre.

I know. Detective games seem like something I would enjoy. Also, I got D3 last month, Bastion last week and Sins of a Solar Empire 2 days ago (GARGH!!! on sale now!!!!). Its like crazy game buying.

if you dont mind spending more, i think Rebellion, the standalone game for Sins of Solar empire offer a much better value than Trinity. The reason being Rebellion offers a lot more content than Trinity.

However, if this is the first time you try the series, Trinity would be a good option too since its cheap but you are missing out quite a lot of cool stuff that Rebellion brings.

Many Stalker fans is saying SoC is the best. Just keep in mind the game is quite old, so the graphics is more dated. If you don't mind, its a great game, most probably the best one.

Call of Pripyat is more newer, so the graphics is up to date, maps are bigger too, and its also generally a great game.

I have played the game over 100 hours, yea, it is a good game in a sense that it plays a lot like Supreme Commander in space where you build an empire that spans over dozens of planets and command really huge fleets. You get heroes too, that is very similar to heroes in Warcraft 3 which they level up, gain new skills and become more powerful. There is also a huge tech tree that is a feature in most 4X games featured in Sins of Solar Empire.

What i think about today's Sins deal would be, if you do not mind spending more money, get Rebellion because it is the most recent release of the series and this series adds a lot to the game, from Titan (similar to heroes in WC3, but bigger and more powerful), Corvettes (a medium sized strike craft to harass ships) and a handful of new researches that changed how each race plays. The 3 original races have been separated to Rebels and Loyalist that offer different play style. In Rebellion, you can consume entire planets to a dead asteroids for resources or ally with pirates to do your dirty work. On top of that, you get engine upgrades that make the engine look even better than Trinity, especially the shadows in Rebellion which enforce the sense of scale. For example, when a Titan cruising above a couple of smaller frigates, the Titan's shadow will cover the ships below in its own shadow. The developers also revamp some of the textures in the game to make the game look better.

If not, you can get Trinity, which doesnt have all the additions in Rebellion, i think this is a nice starting point to the series since it is very cheap now. You'll still get the first 2 expansion's content that adds more defensive structure and more options for diplomacy. If you like playing Trinity after this sale, i highly recommend you to get Rebellion on the next sale.

tldr version: Trinity if you dont have much budget, Rebellion if you dont mind spending more.

DA: O Ultimate gooding?

I like DA: O but I lost all my save files already

Don't know if playing through all of that even though I already know the storyline is a good idea or not.

Besides, too much other games biggrin.gif

recommended, but i would suggest to watch some videos, demo(if any)

because the graphics/hud and a chance of making one having headache might make you regret it

It looks like a very painful game to play.

I played the first ARMA. It's like a combat simulation rather than a COD or Battlefield game.

But ARMA II famous for DayZ mod. Check out the youtube videos. Kinda like zombie survival mod but play multiplayer like MMO.

The reviews/hype for ARMA2 really went off the lid thanks to DayZ - never try it but judging from the Tube vids and reviews, it is supposedly the next big thing like DotA and CS.

More hardcore if compared to those 2 games. Most people won't like it at all because you lose everything if you die and get looted.

I have Arma 2 from a sale last year I think. Really suck at it. Usually 2-3 shots is enough to bring you down before you can see where the enemy is. Its very realistic tongue.gif

most of the time u end up become bandit anyway cos some dude try to shoot u and u try to self defence, and the system mark u a bandit.

basically the system is flawed, player is riskier than zombie. In walking dead, zombie is more dangerous than player.
