QUOTE(fookyuan @ Aug 13 2012, 02:14 AM) Vw still have its fare share of issues. Rattling n squeaks are just the normal bit Other serious issues are with the dsg itself, the mechatronic unit at clutch are the main issues Other than that misfiring due to plugs and coil pack
Worst bit is the service ctr. They take at least a week to diagnose an issue, but not fixing it. Vw msia better buckle up ang get their act together, and not looking only at sales volume. U can imagine the frustration over it. At the rate they are going, could b another toyota-ish scenario I was under the impression that VW service was really good. Care to share more?

QUOTE(Error404 @ Aug 14 2012, 04:28 PM) My case, my 1 month old golf having some sound on suspension.
1st time sent to SC to check, but unable to find the cause then they asked me to leave my car there for 2 days for them to check again, but no spare car was offered to me.
I have to make another appointment for them to check again why the suspension is making some weird noise, finally they found the cause which is faulty absorber. They dont have spare part & have to order. WTF such a big SC dont have spare part for absorber?
I need to make another appointment to fix the absorber, & now still waiting for parts to arrive.
Need me to visit them 3 times to fix a faulty parts.
VW is very good car, just the SC is shitty... Yes i think many car manufacturers are being let down by our local SC's. Pity since the car itself is quite good. Which SC is this btw?

What are your instant FC (not average) readings during highway cruising for various VW models at say 110kmph and 160kmph? Has anybody tested?

Are there any plans to CKD the Jetta? If so what would be the estimated price?

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Oct 2 2012, 12:45 PM) Passat Sport now officially sold by VW. In addition to the standard features found on the Passat, the extra stuff you now get are: • 8Jx18'' Kansas alloy wheels framed by 235/40 R18 • 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function • Electric tilt and slide sunroof • Electrically foldable side mirrors with auto-dimming function on driver's side • Sports suspension RM189,888.00 excluding insurance. That's a cool 25k extra at least including insurance over the "CKD" unit. I kind of feel sorry for those people who paid for the earlier batches of CBU versions though So with insurance the Passat Sport would cost RM 197K? Is this CBU? More money to add to this eh: http://paultan.org/2012/10/02/najib-car-ex...rm30-2-billion/This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Oct 2 2012, 01:14 PM

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Oct 2 2012, 03:41 PM) If there's one thing that's damn impressive about the Passat, it's definitely the boot space, 565L of it in fact. Just 5L short of the 570L on a BMW X6. Is it a good car? That depends on what your definition of good is... it certainly is good enough although far from perfect. Im not really sure about the accuracy of those boot space figures. I just found out that on the brochures, the Forte supposedly has a bigger boot than the K5 but in reality the K5 boot is really huge. I even find it bigger than the Passat. The Passat boot is deeper but the K5 is wider. Not sure if you feel the same? Have u seen the K5 boot?
