Don't know why...my phone...can connect to mobile data...seems like it is working Cause I can receive whatsapp and Facebook updates....but play store seems to forever not able to download updates, browser takes forever to load.but signal shows I'm at 3g and h+.... sometimes after loading for a long time...it says something about cannot authenticate or connect via proxy server.

Nope. On maxis.. I can't seem to get it straight... Restored back nandroid backup, still the same. Only a factory reset seems to solve the problem...

However, restored back my backup and wanna find a work around first... See if I can find it. On wanamlite1.8rc1 and siyah 1.3.8a

now.... data seems to be back... or at least I hope it is... I don't think I still know what exactly happened... here's what I encountered:

1. Turn on mobile data to surf.
2. Receives e-mail, facebook updates, whatsapps... etc
3. emails/whatsapp seems normal
4. facebook loading a bit longer than usual especially when signal shows 3G or H+... which normally is speedy
5. Gets to E quite often
6. Load ICS+ or Stock browser, takes forever to load whatever page.. comes back with an error of something to do with either not authenticating or connecting with proxy server.

I don't know how I changed it back to normal..

blocking me? any reason for it to be so? How do I find out?

How do I fix it via VPN?

The exact pop-up in the browser was "authentication via proxy server was unsuccessful"

I would like to think it was a Maxis issue also.. but my girlfriend using also another siii side by side with me... damn fast line... she's of course everything stock unmodded la.

But I don't think the ROM or the kernel has anything to do with this. Frustrating la... cause onlining is my most frequent use of the phone

That's just strange. What game do you play that causes that? Normal games keep the screen on when there is activity even IF you don't touch the screen. However, that still shouldn't happen if you have Smart Stay on. check your game. reinstall or something.

BTW, what modems you fellas using? DXLF3? I'm using DXLF3.

Go to contacts>export to SD card. I always find this way the safest. TiBU and Gmail also not so safe as this one.

A hard reset should always solve a software problem. If you were having screen dimming because of a software tweak that was causing the issue, it should be fine. If after a hard reset and still happening. I'm almost 100% sure it's hardware related... hence: SC

TiBU is an excellent backup/restore app. However, do take caution of restoring SYSTEM APPS. In my experience, it does SOMETIMES make the apps a bit f***ed up. Try redownloading system apps from Play store, then restore DATA from TiBU.

Sounds like you're on stock. Pull down your notifications panel, slide the toggles to the left, and most probably your notification toggle is off.

I remember reading somewhere that 10/10 people who were tested to determine which headset/headphones produced better sound quality from the same device, can't tell the difference.

It is more of a placebo effect. The thing that does differentiate are:

1. Comfort when wearing
2. The device that it's plugged into which has the ability of producing better sound quality through the headphones.

How many music files do you have? As usual, with a lot of songs, it tends to load for a while. This applies in searching too.. Not to mention the loading of album art.

However, it should not freeze and reboot while doing that. Try reinstalling or using another 3rd party music app to see if it happesn

150 is NOT a lot at all... so it shouldn't be the lagging problem.

Try to reboot and clear cache, see if it happens again? I should assume not especially if you're stock everything.

Nokia saves it's contacts individually. It doesn't import all into one .vcf file like android.

If I'm not mistaken.. it uses vCards 2.1/3.0

Erm... wow... I think that was when I was still in Maemo-land... which I think should apply to all Nokias.

One thing is, there is no 1 single vcf file, but you can select all and just sync it to a PC. then just copy those into the SIII... or... if you're willing to wait over bluetooth, then just bluetooth them over.

Some Nokias can't bluetooth contacts... it is in a 'sync' function. Especially those ol' generation nokias.
