Dear all sifu,

(1) Currently both my front tyre botak edi but behind one still ok, so the workshop staff recommended me shift tyre behind to front and put new tyre on behind...after shifted when i drive more than 110km/h and slowing down noisy sound will appear, the staff said it was normal and after 10k come back again to shift front to back...then will be no more noisy sound...is this normal?

(2) My tyre size now are 215/45/17, if i change my back tyre to 215/50/17 but front still using same size as before, is there any problem will occur?

(3) Yokohama S drive (made in japan) and Michiellin PS3, which one will you recommend?

Thanks for your advise.

(1) new tyres should be put at the driving wheels. Check whether your car is a front drive or rear-drive.

Bro, i don't know how to differentiate front drive and rear drive, my car is Mazda 3 (current version)

for your "2", please maintain same tire profile/width so you have same contact pattern/tread for safety/stability purpose smile.gif

for only comfort, definitely XM2 and it is much cheaper.

for 17" tires Michelin ps3 confirm over 300 per piece, xm2 maybe still in the high 2xx? not too sure.

Also you might want to consider yokohama c drive 2 instead if you're only looking for comfort. if your budget permits, and since you're on 17" wheels, you can also consider yokohama Advan DB (their flagship comfort tires smile.gif )

Bro, i bough a pair of S drive 215/45/17 tyre at Kuantan cost me RM450 per piece...the technician told me if i want to change bigger size must put behind...

Aiyo, i should choose XM2 instead of yoko S drive coz looking for comfort drive...i don't want to change 4 of the tyre coz back one still not yet botak...feel wasted if change...

understeer is a whole lot easier to correct than oversteer, that's why most manufacturer dial in that characteristic to their cars, no amount of counter steer can save u in high speed oversteer & snap oversteer when u have less grippy  tyres on ur rear

so conclusion is new tyre should be put on rear right? Why i have been told put the new tyre on rear back to front after 10k? Any purpose?
