match ended as 1-1 draw with Dundee United

QUOTE
David Moyes revealed he is 'much closer' to bringing Steven Pienaar to Everton on a permanent basis.

Chairman Bill Kenwright has reportedly been locked in talks with Tottenham over a £5million transfer deal for the South Africa playmaker, who spent the second half of last season on loan back at Goodison Park.

After a 1-1 draw with Motherwell in Stevie Hammell's testimonial at Fir Park, where Well midfielder Nicky Law levelled a first-half header from Shane Duffy, Goodison boss Moyes said: 'I think we are much closer to Pienaar and hopefully in time I will have something, but I don't quite have it yet.'

Goodbye, Timmy!! Wish you all the best!!
QUOTE
Everton have agreed with Major League Soccer (MLS) that Tim Cahill can be transferred to the New York Red Bulls.

Tim, 32, will move to the Red Bulls for a nominal fee, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. He will travel to the US in the next few days.

He has played 278 times for Everton since his move from Millwall in 2004, scoring 68 goals. An Australian international with 55 caps, Tim has scored 24 times for his country.

EFC The Sun Soccernet Daily Mail Telegraph

Tim Cahill: An icon for Everton
QUOTE
Cahill's arrival was the product of David Moyes' thorough approach to scouting and the Scot's willingness to trawl the lower leagues was justified. Cahill's explosive second appearance set the tone for his stay; he was sent-off for celebrating a winner at the Etihad Stadium. A role as the scourge of Manchester City was a recurring theme; predictably, it was Cahill who scored the opener when Everton triumphed in Manchester during the big freeze of December 2010. In temperatures of minus nine degrees Celsius, the Australian was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. Gloves and snoods were never his style.

Perpetual running kept Cahill warm that night. He was an irrepressible, at times irresistible, underdog who harried the moneyed. Yet it was also the beginning of the end; thereafter, only three corner flags were punched in his final 52 Everton appearances. For six-and-a-half years, however, he was the closest to a guarantee of goals from midfield outside the elite. Five came against Liverpool, making Cahill Everton's record post-war derby scorer.

And yet it is not the statistics, the 278 games and 68 goals, that made Cahill the most significant player of Moyes' reign. He was emblematic of Everton, equipped with a never-say-die attitude and a willingness to battle. Phil Neville was the ultimate professional, Leighton Baines the lifelong Evertonian and Mikel Arteta the artist, but Cahill was the talisman.

Java Cup Withdrawal
QUOTE
Everton can confirm that we will now unfortunately not be participating in the inaugural Java Cup which was due to take place in Indonesia later this week.

Following a number of recently uncovered issues, concerned Club officials asked the tournament organisers for assurances about the competition, especially following the withdrawal of Galatasaray.

Initially, it was indicated that Nacional from Uruguay would replace the Turkish Champions but the identity of the participating clubs and the subsequent structure of the competition remained unconfirmed.

A Club spokesperson explained: "Club officials here in the UK and our forward planning/security team deployed to Jakarta at the weekend have repeatedly asked for clarity and assurances from the organisers on the issues but unfortunately have not received the answers we required in the timeframe necessary to ensure our participation.

"We are grateful for the support today of the Indonesian government in this matter, however the unresolved issues mean that the risk of travelling was too great.

Pienaar rejoins Everton from Spurs
QUOTE
Everton have re-signed Steven Pienaar, with the playmaker returning to the club from Tottenham in a £4.5 million deal 18 months after moving to North London.

Pienaar, 30, left Goodison Park in January 2011 but after struggling to make an impact at Spurs following the £3 million move he was sent back to the Toffees on loan this January.

The South Africa international impressed during the second half of last season, prompting David Moyes to try to make the move permanent - with the two clubs believed to have been negotiating a deal for a number of weeks.

Everton have now confirmed on their official website that the transfer has been completed after Pienaar passed a medical on Tuesday, with the player signing a four-year contract.

"I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton," Pienaar told evertontv.

"There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done."

The next Jack Rodwell, introducing Francisco Junior

user posted image

PROFILE
QUOTE
Francisco - or Francisco Santos Da Silva Junior to be exact - joined Everton on a free transfer in February 2012, penning a four-and-a-half year deal.

Born in Guinea-Bissau in West Africa, the young midfielder stepped up his footballing education after joining Benfica's well-renowned academy and has been capped twice by Portugal at Under-21 level.

Equally comfortable going forwards or back, Francisco is an energetic box-to-box midfielder who is happy in possession and can operate with either foot.

He is wearing Everton's number 30 shirt.
SCOUT REPORT ANALYSIS
QUOTE
Pre season has given us a tantalising glimpse of Francisco Junior; a player who could  play a prominent role in the toffee’s midfield next season. In light of today’s news that Jack Rodwell is departing,  the player will fancy his chances of game time given that the pair play in a similar midfield role. This quick scout report will assess Junior’s playing style.

Going forward

From watching a couple of the pre season fixtures he appears to be competent in both the defensive and offensive phases of play. Offensively, he will look to take the ball of defenders and distribute to the flanks. Unlike Rodwell, he appears a very self confident character who is always looking to get on the ball. The former Benfica graduate is quick in possession and will enhance our moderate attacking tempo. The standard of opposition he has come up against is not really a good indicator but he looks capable of driving forward when required with very decent mobility and playing one two’s with the more advanced players.

With him, Gibson, Osman and Pienaar we have the players capable of a more proactive style next season on the ball, rather than the more reactive defensive game we are accustomed to.His rocket against Morecambe also showed he had a decent ping in his locker from outside the box.

Defensively

His physical frame isn’t as immense as Fellaini for instance, but in reality you could say that about every centre mid in the top flight. He seems very right footed. His high energy game would appear well suited to the Premier League and for the defensive phase of play. He’s well equipped to hassle opponents and can protect himself and shield the ball well.  Unlike the departing Rodwell he appears fairly durable with no history of recurring ailments. Whilst he is more right footed he has been deployed on the left side of centre prior to coming to Everton and would thus provide decent balance in a midfield 5 as shown here.

Conclusion

Junior has bags of potential and could be a useful squad player as the season unfolds.  Whilst I was a fan of Rodwell’s passing game and ability in the air, the deal could turn out to be an inspired bit of trading from Moyes given we will be getting a hefty wedge of cash from City – the same club whose youth squad we plucked Junior from for next to nothing.

but i think only can get Adam Johnson.. cuz right winger is our current weakness, although AJ natural position is left winger but can switch with Pienaar during match.. & got news that John Guidetti will be loan back or permanent to Feyenoord.. SOS

now moyes is looking for striker to partner with Jelavic.. recent rumours are Kevin Mirallas (Belgian striker) & M’Baye Niang (French striker, who is now having trial at Finch Farm)..

Everton close to £6m signing of Belgium striker Kevin Mirallas
• Mirallas due on Merseyside for medical on Thursday
QUOTE
Everton are close to signing Kevin Mirallas, a versatile 24-year-old Belgian forward who plays his club football with Olympiakos.

The fee is understood to be in the region of £6m due to a clause in his contract and would represent around half of the fee the Goodison club received from Manchester City for Jack Rodwell only last weekend.

Belgium are playing Holland in a Brussels friendly on Wednesday evening and Mirallas is expected on Merseyside on Thursday for a medical and to complete the transfer.

The forward, who can operate on either wing as well as through the middle, has also played for Lille and St Etienne and was the top scorer in Greece with 20 league goals last season.

He has 27 caps with five goals and would link up again with his international team-mate Marouane Fellaini, who is about to start his fifth season at Goodison.

The Guardian
QUOTE
Toffee Scout Report: Deconstructing Kevin Mirallas

Belgian winger / forward Kevin Mirallas is in talks to become the latest Everton recruit of the transfer window. Let’s analyse what we could be getting….

Position

Deployed mostly as a striker in the Greek Super League, the double footed Belgian is equally effective playing as an inverted winger on either flank cutting inside, rarely going on the outside which is good as his crossing isn’t fantastic. The option of  playing him on the left  could release Pienaar into the number 10 role –  a position Mirallas is also comfortable in. Given our weakness on the right its more likely he will feature there..

Creativity

He loves tricks and in this respect is a bit like Ronaldo with step overs aplenty. He has two good feet (although he will invariably go with his right) so defenders are often not sure how to play him. His speed and ability to expedite  the defensive to offensive phases of play is his major asset and in this respect he is ideally suited to a reactive team like us who play counter attacking football.

He has craft as fellow suitor Arsene Wenger will testify after he created 8 chances against the Gunners in Olympiakos’ ecl win this season. He is always looking for the forward pass and in this respect will help our often slow attacking tempo.  ‘End product’ can be an issue though; for someone in a predominantly attacking role a career assist average of 2.75 per season is average.

The following stats are from his six appearances in Olympiakos champions league run last season in comparison to other players in the competition……

Ranked 14th for most shots per game (3.3)
Made 1.7 key passes per game
Joint 8th most fouled player (2.8 per game)
11 th most successful dribbles (2.5 per game)
4th most offsides (1.3 per game)
77.7% pass completion
38% Crossing Accuracy

Finishing

Whilst I’d guess he would be deployed on either flank he is a more than accomplished poacher with 20 goals from just 25 league games last season and he could be pushed further up field should Jelavic be sidelined. As a cautionary tale his time in France wasn’t quite as productive with just 15 goals from 153 starts. His strike rate at International level is 1 in 5 although remember he is often played out wide.

Off the ball

In the ECL he was used to playing in a reactive side with little possession so our strategy wouldn’t be too much of a culture shock. He has ok positional play and understands the principal of shape. In the ecl games he averaged 1.8 possession regains per game so in this respect he doesn’t work as hard off the ball as say Pienaar who registered 3.9 per game last season. His ability to win fouls is also notable as the stats above show; he is capable of drawing fouls with his quick feet and fast movement – he would rival suarez in this respect – however his simulation can be excessive and might not go down well with some of the traditionalists at L4.

Mentality

He has good self confidence with few off field issues, characterised by a decent disciplinary record on the pitch. In football psychology terms he would be classed as a Type B’ player (the best type) who have high ambition and low performance anxiety with limited fear of failure. In comparison with previous wide men, KM doesn’t have issues with authority or temperament problems like a drenthe for example or the high anxiety issues suffered by bilyaledtinov. The only caveat here is that his self confidence can sometimes be a weakness; for example he will often look to take everyone on and get a shot on goal even when its better to pass. Whilst it comes off regularly in a weak greek league it would need to be modified in the prem.

Verdict

This deal would basically solve the striking and wide right berth conundrums in one go,  delivering a  proven goalscorer with champions league and international pedigree. Age wise he is in the 22-27 bracket so also assists in Moyes desire to even out the imbalanced age group of the squad (plus re sale value). In this country £6m would get you half a reo coker, almost a jamie o hara and 2/3 of the championship kid soton signed from burnley. He is by no stretch of the imagination faultless and has areas of his game that need development but he has genuine game changing qualities and proven experience of delivering results in top flight european football. Put simply, It would be a corking transfer if it came off.

Source
really hope this deal can be done... Belgian "Cristiano Ronaldo"!! can play as striker & winger... international teammate with Fellaini, which can be the factor to keep Fellaini at Everton..

Everton seal deal for Olympiakos striker Mirallas
QUOTE
Everton have today completed the signing of Belgian international Kevin Mirallas from Olympiakos.

The 24-year old arrives at Goodison Park after agreeing a four-year deal and passing a medical on Saturday evening. He will wear the number 11.

Discussions between the two clubs had been ongoing during the course of the last week and after an undisclosed fee was agreed late on Friday evening, Mirallas headed to Merseyside to complete the formalities.

Speaking exclusively to evertontv ahead of training with his new teammates for the first time at Finch Farm, he said: “I am very happy because Everton is a big club and for me it's a very good opportunity.

“I've known Everton have been following me for a while and after talking with the manager I decided coming to Everton was the best opportunity for me.

“I know this is a great club with great supporters and a club that has the ability to win a lot of games in the Premier League. That's why I came.”

Everton have won the signature of Mirallas ahead of a number of top European clubs who had reportedly been keeping close tabs on the forward player’s progress after he scored 20 goals in 25 appearances for Olympiakos in 2011/12.

"We're really pleased to get Kevin," said manager David Moyes. "He'll hopefully add a bit of quality to the squad, give us some more options and we need him. We've lost one of two players so we're delighted to get Kevin in."

Due to his signing taking place after Friday’s 12pm deadline, he will not be eligible to play in Monday’s Barclays Premier League opener with Manchester United but will be at Goodison Park and unveiled in front of what is hoped to be a capacity crowd.

Prior to his arrival in Greece, Mirallas had spells with St Etienne and Lille in France, having earlier started his career at his hometown club Standard Liege.

Mirallas, who can play behind the striker or on either wing, featured for his national team in last Wednesday's 4-2 win over Holland, a game watched by Blues boss David Moyes.

Great to see Tony Hibbert career rejuvenate. I could almost swear his career with Everton nearly came to an end few season ago when the club signed plenty of defensive options, and Sheamus Coleman took his place few years ago.

Congrats for knocking the swamp dwellers off their high horse (or donkey - hee haw RVP) and on to their backsides (or ass) biggrin.gif

So it was no fluke that this Merseyide club helped to knock the swamp dwellers of their r high perch last season . City says Thanks Again.

Distin (ex-City) was awesome too.

A review on Monday match

QUOTE
Everton 1-0 Man United – Tactical Deconstruction

Teams & Formations

Everton lined up in the usual 4-4-1-1 with the same forward 6 players that played in the 4-4 draw at Old Trafford in May. Further back, Distin’s superior pace gave him the nod ahead of the unfortunate Heitinga. United went in with a 4-2-3-1 with Welbeck and Nani on the flanks with new signing Kagawa in ‘the hole’ behind Rooney. Rio Ferdinand’s injury meant that Carrick was deployed at centre half with Valencia at right back.  The game played out in a familiar manner, with 2 distinctive phases of play.

Phase 1 – Aggressive Attacking

Our main strategy was to maximise the colossal threat of Fellaini, playing a more direct game perhaps in response to United’s central defensive injury crisis. The Belgian was immense; as we noted last season our goals output goes up 50% in the games he plays in an advanced role to those he plays as a defensive midfielder. The Belgian received the ball 28 times in the final third last night with 49 touches in the final third which was more than any player from either side.

His aerial prowess was crucial and in a more than deliberate tactic we looked to bypass Vidic and get the ball forward to Fellaini who was looking to pull onto the back of United’s fullbacks to win diagonal balls from Howard and Baines. This perhaps doesn’t do Fellaini justice – his chest control for example is better than anyone in the Premier League by a distance. He made plenty of gains and United couldn’t handle his physical prowess as the game developed. Firstly he outmuscled Valencia and rolled Carrick to hit the post, and then he provided a knock down for Osman to strike the bar.

It was third time unlucky for United though; Fellaini again dominated Carrick (the hapless stand-in centre back won just 28% of his aerial duels) as the curly haired dynamo shrugged off his attention to arrow home a great Darron Gibson centre to send Goodison into raptures.

Phase 2 – Containment

With the goal in the bag ‘Operation Goodison’ shutdown commenced. United dominated possession, moving from 64% control in the first half to 69% in the second. This is nothing new for us though. For example, the wins against Man City, Chelsea, Spurs & Swansea last season were achieved with an average possession of just 35% with Moyes happy to retreat 10 yards, concede possession and get as many men behind the ball as possible.

Whilst United dominated possession (692 v 308 passes), they were less incisive getting the ball into the box and creating threatening chances. The Blues had significantly less touches (571 v 933) but crucially we had more touches in United ‘s penalty box than they did ours (42 v 27) with us having 22% of our chances in their 6 yard box compared to United’s 0% in ours. The below image shows this nicely with United’s passing meeting a brick wall around our penalty box…..

With the centre of the pitch congested United were attacking down the flanks rather than utilise Kagawa through the middle with an emphasis on crossing which we were happy with given our organisation and prowess in defending such situations. United’s crossing accuracy was poor with just 17% accuracy, half the figure we chalked up. Van Persie’s introduction on the right side had limited rewards and he cut something of a peripheral figure as United continued to chase the game with minimal gains.

Jagielka’s display in the defensive phase was crucial; he won a crucial one on one with Welbeck following a great through ball from Kagawa and then foiled United’s best chance of the game, sensing the danger to clear Cleverleys shot of the line. Distin also performed heroically with some crucial headers at the death.

In Summary….

This was a classic Everton display of recent times and was very much an extension of what happened from January onwards last season at Goodison. On this form Fellaini is unplayable and his aggression combined with our ability to win the second balls around him were crucial in the attacking phase of play. Defensively we are resolute – Goodison is a real fortress with 7 clean sheets in our last 10 games at home – and in truth we never looked like conceding with United creating little from their large share of possession. In summary, this was a well deserved victory and a great start to the campaign.
SOS

Rodwell will get his 3R's (recuperation, recovery & rest) if he is injured which he will not at Goodison Park because of limited resources. It's a a career enhancing move. See already he is a starter displacing a WC Dutch player to the bench.

City can afford Fellaini, can Moyes afford to let his marquee player go? Already Fellaini fellained and stuffed the daylights out of MU team. thumbup.gif

All football cognoscenti can attest that Everton was the superior team over MU. Only plastics (blinded by smokes and mirrors) or retards (by dint of sheer arrogance) can't accept it. shakehead.gif

Marriner did a decent job. He should have sent Scholes off for his bad tackling and fouls from behind.

Rodwell is a good buy.. promising, young & most important is England domestic player.. hope he can combine well with Yaya..

I think for the moment, Fellaini won't leave Merseyside cuz there is new Belgian team-mate signed - Kevin Mirallas..
& summore, Moyes is looking to finish Top 6 place in order to get Europa spot for the following campaign.. d ambitious motivates Fellaini to stay..

EVERTON 5-0 Leyton Orient

Summer signing Kevin Mirallas marked his home debut with the opening goal following a clever Steven Naismith pass, before setting up Leon Osman to make it 2-0.

Mirallas added his second, with Victor Anichebe rifling in a fourth from distance to utterly crush the Londoners. Magaye Gueye's fifth in the second half completed the rout and booked Everton's place in the next round.

The Blues handed Belgian summer signing Mirallas a start and he operated in a free role just off Anichebe.

MAROUANE FELLAINI has admitted he is coming to the end of his Everton career.

The Belgian midfielder, 24, is under contract for the next four seasons at Goodison Park.

But he said: “I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last.

“I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship.”

Fellaini joined Everton in a £15million move from Standard Liege in 2008.

He has scored 22 goals in 130 appearances for the Merseyside club

'Kevin Mirallas and some other good players joined us to make a better squad.

'So with Everton, I am ready to play all the season and to reach our goals of this season.'
which mean he won't leave at January transfer market.. but if can't reach the goals & after play all of the this season, can see him wearing another Blue shirt maybe.. sigh~~

ya.. frustrated.. shud hav been 3th place.. sigh~~

yet again, gibson absence is a major factor.. neville slow & lots of mistake.. time for Fellaini to move back to DM!!

& defence chaos continue from WBA game.. lack of anticipation.. time to consider to use Heitinga!!

but positive sign is Mirallas.. yet, bit selfish as he want to prove himself.. it's like CR when he 1st came to MU..

& also hope that Jelavic injury isn't serious...

it should be 3-7 if all chances can be finished off... Again, Fellaini bossed Swansea's defender!!
and this game proved that Heitinga can defend better than Distin.. Howard also brilliant with those saves!!

Evertonian!! we are 3rd place above, while our neighbour 3rd place below!! Enjoy this moment!! thumbup.gif

just back from Bangkok.. i tried the beer & bought some Chang beer shirts icon_rolleyes.gif
but sad to see that there ain't any toffee jersey at there.. guess need to improve the marketing system..

Jelavic.. as usual, clinical finishing!! 10 times cheaper than Torres.. Moyes did his magic trick again!!
Pienaar & Baines combi, plus Mirallas & Coleman combi... now we have good combi at both sides...
vs Swansea, total shot is 18.. vs Southampton, total shot is 22.. playing like Barca?! LOL~~

but, still feel sad about lose to Leeds at Carling Cup.. lost 1 silverware opportunity.. cry.gif

Moyes is no pal of referee Friend after Everton are held at Wigan

Another draw match caused by referee's decision vmad.gif

Fellaini was completely marked & played an awful game.. & Heitinga lose pace against Kone.. doh.gif

Need Gibson back from injury.. Neville is not a very good holding midfielder.. old & slow doh.gif

According to the data, prior to the Wigan match, Everton have tallied up 124 shots in six matches (20.7 average), which is ahead of trailing Real Madrid by six and Bayern Munich by 12 shots respectively. Against Wigan, Moyes’ men racked up 17 more shots.

Currently, the club have scored 14 times in seven matches, with Nikica Jelavic on four league goals and Marouane Fellaini on one less. The latter, who has pushed up from a defensive position to the slot right behind the striker has proven incredibly devastating both in the air and when working in space against opposing defenses.

However, Everton could certainly be more fruitful with their finishing despite averaging two goals per league match. With 141 shots and the type of chance creation provided by players such as Leighton Baines, who is at the top of the EPL creation list, Everton’s finishing has simply not measured up

You should know who I'm quoting. but you don't know why. Let me try to explain.
We're broke, things aren't going to change anytime soon unless Big Bill decides to sell. We've been that way ever since we failed to capitalize on the Premier League formation. You should know what the Premier League era is about. But make no doubt, we refuse to bow. We refuse to take on a busload of debt in the form of "investors", even with the promise of success and silverware.

No sir, we are Everton.

And in these times and age, we ARE a small club. even if we've been doing it the way we always have. Mancini can say all he wants, our neighbours across the park can spout all the crap they want. But have no doubt. Denigrate us as a small club, but small doesn't equal weak on the field as they're finding out. We're making them eat their words each time they discount us.

I don't know why you seem offended. It's not like we're United, spoilt for success and always whining when perceived to be insulted or humiliated by other clubs. Our mentality is different, you should understand if you have been around for long. Let them talk, the fact doesn't change that we're stubbornly traditional and proud in the esteem of our history.

We do things our way. And we always will. Our soul will never be bowed.

Our soul will never be bowed.

now you talking.. hehe!! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I do proud with its history & stubborn traditional to run the club - The Passion & Love on the Club.. The People's Club, not The Investor's Club.. LOL!!

I offended because I don't think EFC is a small club, in my heart & my little opinion.. though we have the smallest squad in recent years sweat.gif

Even few years back, i did think the quality of EFC squad is capable to qualify for Europe spot, at least.. but disappointed with the trendy "slow start".. this season hope it will repeat what DM did as season 2004/05, or maybe better.. who knows? still early in the season..

We're small, not because we are incapable. It's because while everyone around us has been busy splurging on things they can't afford, we've stayed true to our roots as a people's club. Not going to comment on whether that's a good choice or not, for every City there is a Leeds. But these are our values, and they are never going to change. We fight the fair fight in our own dignified way, others be damned.

Again, WE ARE EVERTON!
and we have fun every week sticking it to CashMoney FC.

LONDON (Reuters) - Former Germany midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger could return to Premier League action this weekend after joining Everton on a short-term contract.

Hitzlsperger, who has been without a club since recovering from a long-term injury, has been training with Everton and signed a deal through until January, the Premier League side said on their website (www.evertonfc.com)

Providing international clearance is processed in time he will be eligible for Everton's match at bottom club Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The 30-year-old former Stuttgart player, who earned 52 Germany caps, has had previous spells in England with Aston Villa and West Ham United.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Kevin Mirallas

Brilliant until his enforced withdrawal. He made a series of superb, slaloming runs through the Liverpool defence.

While it was expected Everton would miss the suspended Steven Pienaar, they did not as long as Mirallas stayed on the pitch.

1 League defeats for Everton this season. If the Blues avoid defeat on Saturday it will represent the fewest number of losses in the opening 11 games since 1978/79, when Everton went 19 games undefeated from the start of a campaign.

7 Goals scored by Everton in our 7-1 defeat of the Wearsiders in November 2007, the biggest victory of the David Moyes era.

12 Matches played by Tim Howard, Phil Neville and Leon Osman for Everton against Sunderland without suffering defeat.

17 Matches in all competitions that David Moyes has taken charge of Everton against Sunderland. The Blues boss is yet to suffer a defeat against the Black Cats, having won 12 and drawn five of those meetings.

200 According to Opta, the number of attempts on goal by Everton in league matches this season – the highest of any side in the so-called ‘big five’ top-flight leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.

399 Premier League games in which David Moyes has taken charge of Everton. The Scot's win rate during that time stands at an impressive 40 per cent.

Roman Abramovich is ready to break the bank and splash £30million on in-form Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini in January.

The Belgian has dazzled for David Moyes' side this season and scored his sixth goal of the campaign on Saturday as Everton came from behind to beat Sunderland at Goodison Park.

Now Chelsea’s billionaire owner is keen to bring Fellaini to Stamford Bridge to deputise in midfield.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...e-Fellaini.html
QUOTE
Fellaini has suitors around Europe – Chelsea and Paris St Germain showed an interest in the summer – and his talents would clearly fit neatly in many teams. Moyes, however, believes the prospect of leading Everton into the top four will render interest in him futile.

‘Everybody knows where he is and if they want to come and watch him that's up to them,’ said Moyes, whose side retained fourth place after goals from Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic cancelled out Adam Johnson’s strike.

‘It would be a big price on his head but we've got no problem in people coming and watching him. I'm not in the mood now to keep the fight going all the time because we've had to do it with a lot of players.  We’ve sold some big ones but the club will always be bigger than any player, any manager.

‘But Felli knows what I think and I know what he thinks and I think more than anything he'd love to take Everton into the Champions League and that's what we'll try and achieve.’

JANUARY TRANSFER RUMOUR

1. Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe
QUOTE
Everton manager David Moyes is stepping up his pursuit of Belgium midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe after ordering a form report of him in European action on Thursday night.

Eager to bolster Everton’s impressive push for a top-four finish in the Barclays Premier League, Moyes has earmarked Odjidja-Ofoe ’s energy as the ideal addition to his midfield and is ready to try and sign him at the second attempt when the January transfer window opens.

A deadline-day bid in August was thwarted by red tape, but Moyes is back on the trail of the 23-year-old after dispatching one of his top scouts to watch him in Bruges’ Europa League tie with Bordeaux.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...fer-window.html
2. Craig Gordon
QUOTE
DAVID MOYES admits Everton need to add competition to their squad – as the Blues are linked with a surprise move for goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

“We need competition in all areas and that extends to Tim Howard in goal, absolutely,” said Moyes. “Everybody has got to make sure they are at the top of their game. We have got to make sure we are not continually giving away things, making mistakes that are leading to goals which cost us.

“We need competition and there hasn’t been enough of that in the last few weeks when we’ve had a few injuries. It is something we have to think about in January.”

3. Vegard Forren
QUOTE
According to TV2 in Norway, Vegard Forren will be on Merseyside either tomorrow (Tuesday) or Wednesday to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move to Everton in January.

David Moyes has watched the defender play for Norwegian champions Molde and reportedly met with his manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last week about the possibility of signing the 24 year-old.

Talks were deemed to be at an advanced enough stage for Molde to allow their player of the year to travel to England and hopefully put the finishing touches on his move to Goodison Park when the window opens.

DAVID MOYES will finally sit down with Everton chief Bill Kenwright in the New Year and talk about his contract.
Boss Moyes, 49, is in the final months of his deal and has constantly insisted he wants to wait until the end of the season before deciding his future.

He said: “I want to see how we’re going and where we’re looking to move in the future.

“But it will be in the New Year when I talk to Bill about that.”

DAVID MOYES believes Everton will shut up shop in the January sales and hang on to their top players.

Midfielder Jack Rodwell’s £12million summer move to Manchester City brought in cash and the team has hardly suffered in his absence.

Boss Moyes said: “I’d like to add if we can, that will be the hardest thing. I don’t fear losing anyone.”

He added: “I have learned you can’t play one way. We went 4-4-2 and won in a different way.

“And it was a good lift for us to win without Marouane Fellaini.”

At least Moyes is brave enough to fight on even after losing the team best players to other teams for so many years.
So, if Fellaini go to other team, Everton will rely on their trusted existing players + 1 or 2 new transfer in.

Apart from SAF and A.Wenger, I believe DM is one of the longest serving Managers for a single club in the BPL.

IMO, Everton has "churned out" many outstanding players for the other clubs.
Say, an unknown player was drafted in Everton team. After he had proven himself, other clubs came and took the player away. A good example - Rooney.

Leroy Fer completing £8.6m switch from Twente
user posted image
QUOTE
Leroy Fer yesterday set his sights  on helping Everton return to Europe after he completed an £8.6million move from Twente.

The Holland international, 23, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after Everton boss David Moyes spent a week working on the deal to land  the midfielder.

Fer, who started his career at  Feyenoord, took a private jet from  Rotterdam yesterday afternoon.

‘Everton are in the top five at  the moment and they have a real chance of playing in Europe next  season,’ said Fer. ‘Since I was a young boy, I have always wanted to play in the English Premier League.

‘And now the fact that I am going to do it with one of the biggest teams in the Premier League makes this move even more special.’

Fer, whose strapping physique earned him the nickname ‘The Bouncer’ in  Holland, hit the headlines last year after splashing out £22,000 on a pet horse for his girlfriend — only to realise that she couldn’t keep the stallion because she lived in a block of flats.

Fer got various nicknames. In his youth he got nicknamed De Uitsmijter (The Bouncer) by Feyenoord youth coach Jean-Paul van Gastel for his strong physical appearance. Other nicknames are Lerra and Ferovic. Cor Pot, coach of the Netherlands U21, compared Fer with Patrick Vieira.

Everton consider summer move for Japan's Keisuke Honda?

user posted image

seriously??? blink.gif

QUOTE
Everton are reportedly considering making a summer swoop for Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda.

The 26-year-old CSKA Moscow player was previously linked with the Premier League when the Toffees' Merseyside rivals Liverpool were said to be interested in the playmaker.

This time, Everton are thought to be chasing Honda, who is keen to prove his worth in the top flight of English football, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Honda, whose contract with the Russian club expires in December, has netted nine goals in 19 games so far this season.

Everton’s new badge draws ire of supporters

user posted image

QUOTE
The current design, released yesterday, has removed all of these iconic symbols but for a single, plain tower. The biggest complaint concerns the removal of the wreaths and the motto, aspects that the club – in a meeting between Everton and their Shareholders’ Association- described as signifying heritage, history and tradition. The decision to keep the club’s founding date (1878) and the word “Everton”, have been kept as the club pursues new marketing directives.

Fans, however, see the club’s marketing goals as being strong evidence of a club that’s growing increasingly out of touch with its fan base. Making matters worse, Everton’s official site claims that the new “modern” design was allegedly created “following an extensive consultation process with fans, supporters’ groups and branding experts,” which includes Season Ticket Holders, Supporters’ Club officials, Corporate Members, Shareholders, fans from the Everton Disabled Supporters Association, Nike and Kitbag.

This claim has drawn the massive ire of the fans who, upon the leak earlier this spring, voiced strong opposition to the badge’s comical nature. Disregarding these opinions, the club nevertheless released the new badge. Since the unveiling more than 10,000 supporters have taken to a vote over fansite Toffeeweb with 91% disliking the new design (64% hating it, 27% did not liking it, 7% liking it and 2% loving it).
How do u guys think of the new badge?

Everton apologise for unpopular new badge, which will be used for just ONE season
QUOTE
Everton have apologised to their fans after the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the club's proposed new crest, and want supporters to help design another badge for the season after next.

Due to time constraints with kit manufacturers Nike, the unpopular new design - which does not feature the club motto, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, meaning 'Nothing but the best' - has to be used for the coming campaign.

But in a turnaround from the board, the crest will be redesigned again in the next year with wider fan consultation involved in the design process.
but still, need to see this shXt badge for 1 season.. definitely will skip next season jersey..

Is Martinez really the right boss for Everton?
user posted image
QUOTE
And if there are no hiccups in talks with Goodison chairman Bill Kenwright over the next couple of days, the Spaniard could be the Toffees new manager by the weekend.

Martinez, 39, told Latics owner Dave Whelan he wanted out during an emotional meeting yesterday afternoon.

Everton, who had already requested permission to talk to him over replacing David Moyes, will now have to cough up compensation of around £2million, to cover the remaining 12 months on his contract.

And if, as expected, Martinez and Kenwright are in agreement over factors like who comes as part of his backroom team, he will be confirmed as Goodison’s next gaffer.
Personally, would prefer the Porto Manager, Vito Pereira.. but, Martinez is one of my fav gaffer oso.. wink.gif

I'll take Everton to the Champions League!
New boss Martinez in vow to go fourth

user posted image

QUOTE
Martinez has signed a four-year contract to take charge at Goodison Park, with his appointment confirmed on Wednesday, and Kenwright insists that he knew he wanted the Spaniard to be the club's next manager within 45 seconds of meeting him.

He compared their first meeting to the one he had with Moyes before bringing him in from Preston, then a second-tier club, in March 2002.

Kenwright said: "When David Moyes first came to see me 11 years ago, we were in a bad state. And the first words he said were: 'You're not going down.' With Roberto, almost his first words to me were: 'I'll get you in the Champions League.'

"That is extraordinary for a man who doesn't know much about the football club from the inside, but had obviously studied the football club. He'd obviously looked at what we'd been doing over the last few years. He's obviously recognised the massive achievements that David Moyes has made.

"But he sat and talked to me, and he showed me how he beat Manchester City at Wembley. He got out his little card and he said that he did this, this, this and this. And I'd gone to Wembley on that day and sat among the crowd, not to see Manchester City and Wigan, but to look at Roberto. And I watched him and studied him.

"He came into my office. Look I'm not going to say to you that it was like David Moyes, and he got me in 30 seconds. It took him at least 45 seconds.

"He understands the game. He understands Everton. He told me all about the history, all about our players, all about what he wanted to do, and it was a terrific meeting.

"It was the start of a couple of terrific meetings. All I can tell you is that, when you know, you know. There were other things that had to happen, and other people, and they were great."

Pointing to Martinez, Kenwright added: "I wish that 50,000 Evertonians could have been there with me for all of these meetings, as 50,000 of them would have turned round and said: 'Him.'"

ROBERTO MARTINEZ is set to make Antolin Alcaraz his first signing as Everton boss.

user posted image

QUOTE
Martinez brought centre-back Alcaraz, 30, to England from Brugge three years ago.

Now he is returning to former club Wigan for the Paraguayan, who is a free agent.

The arrival of Alcaraz increases the chances of John Heitinga moving to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce to boost Everton’s transfer kitty.

EVERTON FIRST SUMMER SIGNING

user posted image
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE
Arouna Kone has signed a three-year deal at Everton for a fee of £5million to follow manager Roberto Martinez from Wigan to Goodison Park. Martinez has sealed a reunion with the 29-year-old, whom he managed when he was in charge at the DW Stadium.  And the Ivory Coast star is honoured to be back under Martinez's guidance once again.

'For me it’s an honour to be back working with the manager once again, Kone told the club's official website, 'last season he really helped me a lot.

'For my first season I did the absolute best I could, but I think that joining up with him at this club is like another dimension for me and I hope that I’m going to continue to improve alongside him'

The Ivory Coast star scored 11 Premier League goals in his first season in England and helped Wigan lift the FA Cup, but he has made no secret of his desire to leave after the club were relegated in May.

'I feel delighted. For me it is the fruition of work that has been going on for a month now.

'hope that everything goes well and I can have a great season for the club, just like I did last year with Wigan.

'I’ve played against [Everton] in the Premier League and in the FA Cup and it is like moving up a level.

'Every player dreams of playing for a bigger club, and coming here is a big step up for me.'

Kone turned down a £6m move to Newcastle last week after both clubs were given permission to talk to the forward after meeting the release clause in the three-year contract he signed at Wigan last summer. His new Everton team-mates are heading off to Austria for pre-season this week Kone will not be joining them.

I’m raring to go, because when you join a club, it’s that desire to start working that first comes to mind,' said Kone. 'I’m ready and willing to get started and can’t wait to meet up with my team-mates. The quicker I settle both on and off the field, the better it is. I hope to settle in here really quickly which will help me to be at my very best from whenever I play my first game.'

Wigan reunion continues as Alcaraz and Robles join Martinez

↘ Joel Robles

QUOTE
New Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been reunited with two more former Wigan players, signing Antolin Alcaraz on a free transfer and goalkeeper Joel Robles from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee.

Paraguay international Alcaraz was a free agent after his contract with the relegated Latics expired and the 30-year old has agreed a two-year deal with Everton. Alcaraz made 14 appearances last year and kept six clean sheets, including a particularly commanding performance at Goodison Park as Wigan knocked Everton out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage.

The Merseyside club have also confirmed the signing of young goalkeeper Joel Robles from Atletico Madrid on a long-term contract. Robles, who turned 23 last month, played in goal for Wigan during the club’s heroic 1-0 victory over Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final and will provide competition for the Blues’ American international Tim Howard. The 6ft 5ins shot-stopper could make his first appearance for the Blues in Everton's friendly against Austria Vienna on Sunday.

Martinez hails 'diamond' Deulofeu after completing deal for Spanish starlet

user posted image
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE
Roberto Martinez hailed the arrival of Gerard Deulofeu and described the exciting Spanish forward as a 'real diamond'. A busy 48 hours for the new Everton manager concluded with the season-long loan acquisition of the 19-year-old following hot on the heels of the arrivals of Arouna Kone, Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles.

'Gerard is a real diamond of Spanish football and a boy with incredible footballing talent and I am delighted that he has chosen to take the next step of his career with Everton,' said Martinez. 'He is a young man with a lot of potential to be a real star and the Everton family is the perfect environment for him to progress. The warmth, patience and understanding of Goodison Park is exactly what he needs to carry on fulfilling his potential. The experience that we have in our dressing room will help him in his development and he will bring a completely different penetrating approach to our group. We understand a lot of other top clubs around Europe were interested in Gerard so it is fantastic he has joined us.'

Deulofeu is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to come out of Barcelona's academy yet he also has the potential to be the most frustrating, having been described as 'a raw Cristiano Ronaldo', and Martinez will need all his coaching skills to hone the teenager for the English game.

Born near Girona, Catalonia, Deulofeu joined Barcelona's youth academy in 2003, aged just nine. He made his debut for the B team in 2011 while still registered with the juniors and a month later was called up to the senior squad for La Liga match against Real Sociedad. He has had a few flirtations with the senior side since but has caught the eye in Barca's B team where he scored 18 goals last season and was one of the star figures for Spain's U20s. However, there is a strong belief he needs to step up a level now and, with his way to Barca's first team blocked, a move to the Premier League has been deemed his best route of development.

nvm, i think u comment based on this story, "I can't stop players leaving"

QUOTE
The new Toffees boss has always spoken confidently of holding on to his two star men since he succeeded David Moyes as Everton boss last month, but he was less confident as he was asked to give his club’s supporters an assurance that the duo will remain a part of his squad.

"You should never ask a manager that," he is quoted in the Daily Mirror. "The modern game does not allow a manager to have that control."
what's he meant is he wants to keep, but can't promise due to restriction control, as Chairman is the one who accept/reject transfer bid.. & the "leaving" issue, it just some word twisting by the media, which RM can't control also..

btw, i think u hav missed out few early stories..
1. Roberto Martinez wants to keep Fellaini
2. "Leighton Baines is an icon"-Roberto Martinez

Roberto Martinez did said b4 tat he wan to keep the star players at the beginning.. & also said recruit few players to add in the depth of the squad (so far, 4 players IN, 0 player OUT).. As reminder, both players hav been included for US Tour..

plus, majority of the everton supporters have oledi bored with this Fellaini & Baines transfer saga, not d 1st season having these speculations..
in a positive thought,
QUOTE
"I don’t think speculation is healthy. We are just trying to become as good as we can before the transfer window closes. If we get clubs talking about our players we take it as compliment because it means the players have been impressing and doing really well.

Mirallas: I was in Lukaku's room on Monday and only left when he was joining Everton

user posted image

QUOTE
Kevin Mirallas believes Romelu Lukaku could prove the missing link in Roberto Martinez’s bid to lead Everton back into Europe.

Everton boss Martinez more than made up for the loss of Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United by landing a hat-trick of deadline-day signings in £13million buy James McCarthy and on-loan duo Lukaku and Gareth Barry. While McCarthy’s energy and distribution and Barry’s vast experience will bolster Everton’s midfield, it’s Lukaku’s firepower that could prove decisive in their quest for honours, according to Mirallas.

After opting for Everton ahead of West Brom on Monday night, Lukaku described how a glowing recommendation from Belgium team-mate Mirallas had helped him make up his mind. Speaking ahead of Belgium’s World Cup qualifier with Scotland on Friday night, Mirallas made it clear he believes his sales pitch could reap its rewards at Goodison Park this season.

‘I was with Romelu in his room at the team hotel on Monday night, and I only left when I was sure he was joining us,’ said Belgium’s Everton winger. ‘I was surprised to learn we were in for him, because there had been no inkling, but once I got word, I really went to work.

‘I just tried to convince him that Everton was the right step to take and he would love it at Goodison, and I’m really pleased he took it on board. With Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o all jostling for places up front at Chelsea, and Romelu likely to be on the bench, it made sense to go out on loan again. It made even more sense to choose Everton, and I’m delighted he has.

‘There is plenty of competition for places at our club, and we are looking strong, but we do need someone we can rely on for goals. We have been having trouble scoring, but I am sure Romelu is going to help in that department and make a big difference to us.

‘There have been stories about Marouane leaving since June, so it is perhaps surprising it only happened on the last day. We will miss him, but you have to say he has certainly earned his dream transfer.’

watching him play, remind me of Cristiano Ronaldo's first season at Manchester United..

flashy winger who dribble well, one-v-one situations dislodges good defences, & open space up for his teammates by attracting defenders..
but bit greedy & still not mature in decision making.. only 2 chances created & 1 out of 12 crosses that is completed doh.gif

How has Roberto Martinez improved Everton?

user posted image

QUOTE
Everton were widely regarded as a side that were functional and effective under David Moyes, so when the Scotsman left for Manchester United Toffees fans could be forgiven for feeling downhearted.

The Merseysiders were forced into a change at the top, but it's proving that it may just have been exactly what they need at exactly the right time. It was a drastic one too, and there were large sections of the support which questioned the validity of appointing a manager who had just seen his side relegated from the Premier League.

In truth though, Roberto Martinez had his Wigan side playing beyond what many would have felt they were capable of, culminating in an FA Cup final win over Manchester City. His side were open and expansive, which led to an abundance of goals at both ends of the pitch. The Latics scored just eight goals fewer than sixth-placed Everton last season, but conceded 33 more goals.

For a side that prided itself on its defensive solidity, the decision didn't add up for some. However, 14 games into the current campaign and fresh from a first league win at Old Trafford in over 20 years - against the man that he replaced no less - it's fair to say that Martinez has won his doubters over.

Moyes set his Everton side up in a very specific way. He utilised what he considered to be his key assets to the fullest and it worked. The left side of the pitch was absolutely crucial to their play, with the combination of Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar able to work opportunities for the former to pick out a target man - more often than not Marouane Fellaini - in the box. They did this whilst remaining strong at the back, so you could have forgiven Martinez for running with that game plan.

The loss of Fellaini, who followed Moyes to United, may have played its part but the Spaniard was never likely to copy and paste his predecessor's way of thinking. Martinez's task was to add new dimensions to their attack and possession play without compromising their defensive rigidity.

It's something that he went about achieving with intelligent advances into the transfer market. The defence was all but set in stone but in adding more protection in front of them he could allow his attacking players to be more expansive; no side has completed more dribbles per game this season (12.9) after Everton ranked 15th in the same category last time around (5.3). The signings of James McCarthy and, in particular, Gareth Barry were as important to the adaptation as that of Romelu Lukaku on deadline day.

The side's average tackles per game has risen, albeit slightly, from 18.9 to 19.9, and Lukaku's influence has seen their shot accuracy increase to 38.5% from 32.7% (now the fourth best in the league). In terms of playing style they're keeping the ball better, connecting with 83.3% of their passes - up from 79.4% - and averaging 56.5% possession - up from 52.9%.

They're less reliant on individuals, with Baines a case in point. Last season the left-back delivered the most accurate crosses per game in the league (2.8) but that figure is now way down at 1.1, ranking 27th. Meanwhile, the full-back also created the second most chances per game (3.1), with the drop to 1.3 this season even more significant (down to 52nd).

His average for the latter, in fact, is now equal to that of Seamus Coleman on the opposite side, and the Irishman's combination with Kevin Mirallas down the right flank is now just as important as the partnership across the field. The team looks more balanced in turn and the focus on the collective is paying off. More players are being given the opportunity to flourish in the current system, and they are doing exactly that.

With the Toffees sitting just three points behind second-placed Chelsea and having lost the fewest games this season (1) their charge for Champions League football seems more legitimate than ever.

After Moysie cabut to MU, MU play like Everton. Martinez come to Everton, thought wouild play like Wigan, but instead power up level to passing and attacking football. On top of that , only lost one game to Mancity in which Barry din play due to loan agreement. When Barry plays, they havent lost. Now, they really can compete and play against any top sides in the league like no fear. Now the pundits and media starts to give recognition to Everton.

I really think this year is Everton's year. Top 4 finish and a silverware. Very great job to Martinez and lads. smile.gif smile.gif

yea~ quite happy & excited with the team play so far.. DM sometimes might be too cautious & sometime may apply too defensively in tactic, which quite bored sometimes (honestly, i felt into sleep during the newcastle match).. meanwhile, RM is more open with attacking mind, in which he was the founder who introduce the philosophy into the Swansea team when he was in player-manager position.. maybe this is the different between the past experience as defender vs midfielder..

Personally, i oso want DM to b success, #berdiritegang... bcuz he's one of the factors that lead me to support the Toffees.. hopefully he won't feel burden & become the next LFC "Roy Hodgson".. & of coz, no mercy when meet up, or when they r above us.. my daydream league position is 1st Eve & 2nd MU.. possible?? haha...

as important as Lukaku & Deulofeu's loan deal, i think Barry has quietly done a great & dirty job by protecting the centre backs & allow the youngsters (especially Barkley) to have more adventure in attacking.. his experience & position awareness is at top-class level... hopefully he will join back after his MC contract deal expire at the end of the season.. & oso hope he can play as fit as Distin, who has already 36 yo & still playing like 26 yo.. LOL~~

if we can play every matches like the first 30 mins at Arsenal, Top 4 can be the target to achieve.. in fact, tat's RM's goal for this season.. but the season is only halfway... still long way to go... the competition is tight & anything could happen within this x'mas boxing days.. hopefully RM can bring in few more players to add more depth into the squad during Jan transfer.. 1. Gerard Deulofeu ‘agrees deal to extend Everton loan’
QUOTE
‘Deulofeu will, in principle, stay another year in England, with the player being close to Everton manager Roberto Martinez,’ the paper reported.

Deulofeu was set to return to Barcelona at the end of the season, but after the Catalan club saw their transfer ban suspended earlier this week, the return of loanees has become a less pressing issue, with Barca set to splash the cash on multiple new arrivals in the summer.
2. Everton FC set to deliver new stadium search update next week
QUOTE
Earlier this month the Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, claimed that supporters could expect an announcement on Everton's relocation plans before the beginning of next season.

And the Everton Shareholders' Association have revealed that Elstone will provide a progress report to stakeholders on the situation during next Tuesday's General Meeting.

"With both Everton and the side from across the park enjoying this years on field activities these are exciting football times for our great city," read a statement.

"Additionally both clubs appear to be making significant progress off the field, most notably with their intentions to improve stadium facilities.

"The other side is intent on developing their existing stadium having abandoned the previous option of a new build. Indeed only this week artists impressions have shown the size of their ambition for a 54,000 capacity stadium.
3. Sylvain Distin could miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury
4. Kevin Mirallas to miss rest of the season with groin injury

Hope can cope without them & aim for another win at Southampton to secure 5th place for EURO spot..
& also pray for slip from Arsenil for the possible CL spot!! whistling.gif

Wow, can't believe my last post was 2 years ago. It was happier then when Martinez led us to 5th spot in EPL. Unfortunately, things go worse after that. Everton slumped to bottom half of table and Martinez got sacked. He is a gentleman but results didn't speak well for him. It's always bad to sack a manager but there's no other choice.

Despite the disappointing season, now it's a time for great change. Things have been quite stable since Moyes till now. With Morshiri's money, and a new manager with new philosophy, we might see great changes. I hope the board can get their ideal man soon.
I hope they get Emery but that might mean a cut in transfer budget for players. Or they could get de Boer or Pellegrini. Definitely not Moyes.

With Morshiri's money, and a new manager but hopefully good and practical new philosophy, we don't want the filosofi that bug MU under LVG.

I hope Everton FC will can get their ideal man soon.

Cheers.

Finally, it's confirmed. We have a manager. Can't wait to see who will we sign then. It's a new dawn for the club and hopefully this time we are right on track to success.

The sacking of Martinez came too late and it's affecting the recruitment of players now. I am not expecting a good start to new season but I have hope that Koeman and Walsh will get the right players and rebuild the team.

A good start in new season. New signings such as Gueye, Step, Bolasie and Williams are playing well. Youngster such as Holgate are getting better and better. Got to admit that Morshiri has did it right in bringing in Koeman. If this is performance from 70% fit players, then we can expect more when they reach 100%. COYB!

Another good win. Holgate and Gueye were both excellent. Stek was crucial in saves that deny Stoke an equalizer. Now, if we can get more good players, Koeman is good but he didn't have much choices when it comes to substitution.

13 points from first 5 games and we are sitting at 2nd in the table. A good start and while it's still early in the season, we might have the chance to qualify for continental competition next season.

I know that feeling and I still has some of it. Anyway I believe we can be better under Koeman.

Everyone is richer now, we're just not as poor anymore with that new feller on the board. Gonna miss the days of relegation battles, mid table seems a bit boring lel

Good transfer window. Compare to Walsh, Brands is much convincing as a DOF.
