Short answer - You will void the warranty.

Long answer - If you need to open the PSU and sleeve it all the way into the chassis, yes you will void the warranty. As soon as you cut off Corsair PSU sleeve/cables, you void the warranty. If you do not send in full set of parts, you will not be able to RMA the PSU. For most other brands, the same policy applies to a certain degree.
