When you need to send for RMA, you just need to remove all the sleeve and restore it to the original appearance. Abit troublesome. Why not get sleeved extension?

if i sleeve it already, it wont be possible to restore back to original state. Well that is the last solution la, i prefer to sleeve myself because its cheaper that way & i can reuse the cables. No point buying another set of cables since i got already & cables dont get spoil fast also hmm.gif

Currently the psu cables are like the picture below:

I want to transform that into something like the picture below:

But will that void the warranty? Because once i cut the original sleeve i wont be able to restore back to that state. icon_question.gif

Your PSU fully modular? As long as you do not open up your PSU its fine. Maybe you can send it out without the sleeve, if the worst thing happen tho. I've seen people ask this question at corsair forum, and they do allow as long as you do not open the PSU and your cable is not hardwired. You want to do individual sleeve, gonna take alot of hard work. Do it neatly sure the result going to looks cool.

yup fully modular. No need to open for sleeving just need to cut the current sleeve & put the new 1 with heat shrink. Well i hope that is possible then they couldnt find an excuses to not rma it. I know some companies are good while some are quite strict but not sure about silverstone though.

Hopefully somebody can share their experience if they manage to rma theirs with sleeved cables hmm.gif

It's better for you to ask silverstone directly. Don't want to end up couldn't RMA it later. BTW how many years of warranty does silverstone provide?

I've read somewhere in this forum, Corsair PSU need to return with all modular cable for RMA. But not sure for Silverstone. Confirm first with Silverstone is better pre-caution....

Short answer - You will void the warranty.

Long answer - If you need to open the PSU and sleeve it all the way into the chassis, yes you will void the warranty. As soon as you cut off Corsair PSU sleeve/cables, you void the warranty. If you do not send in full set of parts, you will not be able to RMA the PSU. For most other brands, the same policy applies to a certain degree.

I see thanks for the reply notworthy.gif

Emailed silverstone already & will wait for their answer which most likely they will say warranty will be voided. I guess now the best option will be is to buy separate cables & keep the stock cables somewhere safe. More money to fork out now sad.gif

ok guys just to clarify this up, i called inter asia today. They said if want to RMA just bring the power supply. No need to bring the cables, so i guess doing custom sleeving dosent void the warranty. This is because even if i change the sleeving colour they wouldnt know since i didnt bring the cables. Just the power supply box.

right? hmm.gif

Make sure you got the black and white. For all the RMA process i've gone thru, all of them want me to return the complete package. For my previous corsair HX620, all cables must be return. For my logitech G500, even the weight catridge and holder also need to be return. doh.gif

Distro for the PSU, cudo tech. Satisfied with their services. Fast and done accordingly. thumbup.gif
