unless proton rebadge civic..then u can get cheaper civic. honda already ckd their car long time ago in mlk. while inspira is 'new' to proton. so it takes time for proton to produce their own parts.

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Jul 12 2012, 11:42 PM) It is actually true on the local content parts. The more local content on the cars, the less excise duty you can get. when u talk abt ckd, of course related to local content. u assemble the car locally thus u'll use mostly locally made item. But we never know how much the local content on the cars, only manufacturer knows. This is like an incentive via NAP to help local vendors and suppliers. However, we don't actually see the benefit of having local content because automakers will keep the price as it is. Added on July 12, 2012, 11:44 pm CKD is one thing. We are talking on local contents, which parts is produce locally. DSZ mention that the more local parts you have in a car, the less excise duty you will have. As low as 60% i guess. Compare to non local content CKD is 75% tax (for 1.8liter and below). |

QUOTE(xin @ Jul 14 2012, 01:14 PM) sos or no sos its a fact la, our Proton and Perodua cars has screwed up the car pricing bracket for other makers. You poor ? buy proton or perodua, got money to waste ? then buy other overseas brand cars. We are forever Proton n Perodua slaves thanks to your frenly neighbourhood GOV .. yep, no need sos actually. we all knew that vios is actually a normal basic car..especially the J version. its the price structure that make vios looks like a 'luxury' car. |
