QUOTE(MeToo @ Jul 13 2012, 07:22 PM) Its all about branding and perception bro. Is there any functional difference between a bonia bag and a LV bag? Look at the price difference. don't know bout cars but difference between a bonia bag and LV bag would be the quality. a 5 year old bonia would probably have torn compartments and torn leather but an epileather LV would maintain its quality As for difference between local content of both car, some poster have already mentioned, Civic have more local content then Inspira (currently around 25%). as for inspira, i don't see any problems with the car since its a mitsu and well proven. unless, the assembly side has a poor QC department. i've sat in my worker's 2.0 before, and in fact it was kinda nice and i don't see any quality issues, except for the horrible looking proton logo which is basically embossed on the steering lol Added on July 14, 2012, 1:35 am QUOTE(feelfree @ Jul 14 2012, 12:46 AM) This thread is like school boy arguing something, the saddest part is still got forummer thinking that the Honda is so premium that is comparable to Audi or BMW, which I found very funny inside this thread. No doubt, Honda has built a very good reputation in Malaysia, and proton in the other hand has been making some cars that the quality is lower than market average quality, but come on, Honda just a mere 3rd biggest Japanese car maker after Toyota and Nissan. It does't belong to Audi and BMW class, wake up please. i don't see anyone comparing honda with continentals, unless your sense of sarcasm has failed you.Added on July 14, 2012, 1:37 am QUOTE(stormlcc @ Jul 13 2012, 10:27 PM) i'm a BMW guy. but it really doesn't matter in LYN because i can make it up easily. some ppl here even drives lambos and ferraris pics? Added on July 14, 2012, 1:40 am QUOTE(kadajawi @ Jul 13 2012, 11:25 PM) Sure? I know every car, be it Proton or Rolls Royce. i know nuts about driving dynamics and all the mumbo jumbos but one fine feeling that i get from driving continentals are no matter how fast i drive, i always feel 'planted' on the road. i've sat in accord/camry before and they do good in lower high speeds. when it reaches 170> hell breaks lose for em Added on July 13, 2012, 11:28 pm Sure? Most Contis (and Koreans developed in Europe) I have driven or was driven in are rather stiff, more about handling than comfort, at least the newer ones. Only exception is Citroen and some D segment and above cars. Japs seem to be more tuned towards comfort. Contis are better at striking a good balance though... QUOTE(kenso77 @ Jul 16 2012, 11:07 AM) To quote the writer in CBT here (read the comments section): lol, never knew perodua does any research. i thought they are a copy paste manufacturer? well one thing's for sure. all the restrictive and protective policies screwed up our chance to be one of the biggest auto mobile hubs in asiahttp://www.cbt.com.my/2012/07/12/9th-gener...ed-in-malaysia/ "Proton benefits from additional rebates via Industrial Adjustment Fund (IAF), which allows car makers to receive a proportionate rebate not just on the local content but also R&D investment. Obviously nobody except for Proton / Perodua does R&D work here. Also, IAF rebates takes into account cumulative investment made, meaning the figures can be back dated. It's a loophole that allows national car makers to continue getting protection. Foreign car makers would not want to build another facility here when they already have mega advanced facilities around the world, complete with proving grounds, climate chamber and all. So yeah, 20%, 25% makes no difference .... Proton still continues to get protection from the government from this policy Added on July 16, 2012, 11:44 am QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Jul 16 2012, 10:19 AM) 4) Proton has not allowed to enter some others country market. This cause Proton only depend on local market to compete with others car maker for their existence. maybe that's about to change since proton has a new bread winner, one which is considered as on par with continentals. the one and only global car This post has been edited by stix: Jul 16 2012, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Jul 16 2012, 01:03 PM) Kindly do comparison with Korean Automotive Policy (Protection), are they better than us/Malaysia or else. Definitely worst than us, this are the fact & known Globally... New car maker like Proton, Seat & others don't dream to enter their car market unless they already there before Hyundai/KIA exist... uhm, hyundai/kia vs proton. need i say more? koreans started early is not an excuse since their cars were pretty much rubbish till the late few years.Proton protection not the problem at all but Proton "ACHIEVEMENT (FAIL)" as at today costs us a lot of money to own better car... |
