QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Feb 1 2013, 08:34 AM) Recently I bought my wife a Galaxy Nexus (was gonna to buy XPP but get the AP GNex at the end), and updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I found that whenever GNex screen off the phone will be in 'sleep' i.e. the battery usage page will show screen off and sleep as the same pattern. My XPS on the other hand, is almost awake all the time, be the screen on or off. Wondering what bloatware is hogging the battery... when the screen is off, its suppose to go to sleep, unless you're hearing music.if your phone never goes to sleep at all when screen off, then you have wake lock issue, your battery will drain very fast. |

QUOTE(patrick94 @ Mar 11 2013, 09:20 PM) Yes ,the 3 dot is hard to press.. sensor is between the dot and the screen. not the dot itself.Alot of people have this problem too. But dunno is software or hardware give this problem its hard to aim. better to a swipe up motion to surely hit the button. if you know how to root, and install a custom rom, try aokp or cm10.1 you can then enable on screen keys. or try lmt launcher. root require. |

QUOTE(Luqman999 @ Apr 6 2013, 09:54 PM) i've seen the display set before, the flap is very secure, unless you use your nails to pry it, it wont come out.its more secure than the usb flap on xperia s. i cant imagine any sort of bumping or vibration can pry it open. even by the washing machine |

QUOTE(xzulx @ Apr 9 2013, 08:11 PM) Sony ultimate flagship Xperia z still on 4.1.2.Surely they are focusing on bringing 4.2 to their flagship. Xperia s is way at the bottom of their priority list. If you're keen on getting fast updates, get the nexus 4. If the no expandable 16gb bugs you, get a Samsung flagship instead. Even my s2, 2 year old flagship is running 4.1.2 since November last year. I check this thread once every few weeks hoping to see the jellybean update. I want to update for my moms phone cos she complain lag quite frequently. |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Apr 13 2013, 01:52 AM) Not bad liao Lol...how can you compare to galaxy w. that is Samsung low end phone, cheap single core phone.Remember Xperia S went from GB to ICS to JB Two upgrade cycle and you are complaining Of course priority is given to newer devices first At the very least they bother to update older devices Most sad case is Galaxy W I'd say any phone that manufacturer give out two update cycle be it slow or fast is very impressive already The only exception to that is Nexus line of devices of course Xps is Sony flagship of 2012. |

QUOTE(ecneret @ Apr 28 2013, 01:32 AM) the prob are: the leak version is quite safe to use i think.1) Sony is darn slow on support previous flagship (if I bought a low-end model, I won't be complaining much) just to put things in perspective, the Korean rival manage to update theirs as early as Oct, (note: taking previous flagship for comparison sake) i.e. SII release on May 2011 - JB update on January 2013 Note I release on Oct 2011 - JB update on October 2012 XPS release on Feb 2012 - JB update on ???!!! 2) it's a promise that count. 1st Sony said Q1 2013, later Apr, now it's May... if they tell from starts, JB update only available June, at least the expectation will be different 3) let's say try on leak version, if anything screw, who shall we complain to ? rather go customization path if I would want to give up my warranty i have S2, leak JB was released since november 2013, been using since then. there was a lockscreen bug in the leak version, but xda people solved it in december. the official release and leak release same only. leak release is probably still waiting approval to be distributed that's all. |

QUOTE(GameSky @ Apr 30 2013, 12:07 PM) try take pictures with flash..and you'll notice purple-ish (ics doesn't produce this, tho) Hi gamesky, you seem familar with flashing roms for xperia s.or..take picture in room with lights turned on wana ask you some things. have you tried aosp roms for it? like aokp and cyanogenmod, they should be 4.2 right? you prefer sony 4.1.2 rom compared to aosp ones? are they any known bugs for aosp roms for xps? the white balance issue you said you having, 3rd party camera same issue? |

QUOTE(GameSky @ Apr 30 2013, 02:43 PM) currently I'm on OpenSEMC Beta 3 CAF, used as daily driver and really smooth..battery friendly too. But there are limitations such as camera resolutions and no 1080p video recording and sometime the network will gone. I guess due to some proprietary drivers from sony aren't released. opensemc beta is the sony leak 4.1.2 rom?If you mean current leaked 4.1.2 rom.. I prefer the cm 10.1 tho, since I'm used wit the customizations and leaked sony rom still got issues (lol wb issue as well) if you read the xda forums. 3rd party camera still got problems, too. suddenly network gone sounds like "ril crash" issue. common issue for s2 during the early cm10 days. for cm10.1, do the HDMI port work? if it does, i plan to root the xperia s and use cm10.1 are they any compromise on the hardware by using cm10.1? thanks for your help so far, share one tip for u incase you duno. in any jellybean rom 4.1 above, add this line at the end of your buildprop and restart to have on screen nav buttons like nexus phones. since the xperia 3 control buttons are easy to miss. qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 |
