My hybrid just change new aircon compressor last 2 months, Saturday send in to service center checking due to weird sound from engine part. Again the technician told me, compressor shaft got problem, need to claim warranty and claim 1 unit new compressor and replace. I was shock, the compressor just 2 months old. Imaging after 5 years, how much i going to pay if no warranty.

Secondly, u guy hybrid door trim got peel off issue? I just change second time at service center too, claim warranty, change 4 new door trim FOC. New door trim is smooth matt surface and no longer like previous rubber coat surface.

Third, anyone here got drive shaft plate broken issue? Mines is third time change the plate but luckily still under warranty. I ask the service adviser to feedback this problem to Japan, he reply that this is design issue, cant be improve. Many other civic owner also facing the same problem. They just can change a new plate for u.

Need some advise from all HCH owner here. Anyone have problem with ur aircon compressor? I bought my HCH on 2013 Dec, in May 2015, my aircon compressor have problem, a very loud strange sound come out from there, send to check, SA told me need to change the whole compressor. Luckily my HCH still under warranty, if not, the compressor together with other part almost cost RM5K. After change to new compressor, last few week my aircon after 2000RPM, it autocut off and change the air intake to external air. I send my car to HSC to check, SA told me the compressor spoil, need change the compressor comp, clutch set and coil set field which total around rm4700++.

My 1st question is, is there any trusted aircon repair shop around klang valley which can repair the aircon with cheaper price?

2nd question is, any owner here also encounter the same problem on aircon? I am doubt why in 5 years time, the aircon spoil twice? How can Honda Japan can produce such low lasting compressor?

Did anyone of you written a complaint to Honda Malaysia or Japan?

well the car is just 5 yearsno warranty for the engine, but the battery warranty has 3 years left.
The mileage is around 42K, the prev owner always service on time and never skip service (according to honda call center). Check with insurance also no claim has been made.

im positively want to book this car, any sound or abnormalities that i should concern when driving the car (will check during test drive)

Thank you guys...

I own both Honda city ( my wife using daily ) and HCH ( i driving daily ), below is my personal experience.

FC - HCH is better for both city drive and highway. I m not aggressive type of driver, my HCH average FC is 18.5 km/l while my wife honda city is 15.5km/l.
Maintainance - Both almost the same.
Comfortability - HCH win 10 miles.
Stability - HCH are more stable when cornering and driving at highway.

Problem facing on my HCH which didnt encounter at city is
- Door trim coating peel off. (Change 3 times for me FOC. )
- Jerking while driving at low speed, like 10-20km/h time.
- Aircon compressor spoiled twice in 6 years time, my first change of whole aircon compressor unit on the 3rd years, still under warranty. It cost almost RM5K if no warranty. Second change at 6th years, cost me RM4700++. This HCH aircon really make me piss off.

Other that the above, overall HCH still my choice among HCH and City.

Mine happened yesterday and the switch auto jumped to outside air.  So, no air con.  Is it my compressor, cooling coil or what else?  Mine is civic hybrid 2013 from Japan.
*
Mines switch auto jumped to outside air and cannot switch back inside air. Unless stop n restart engine, then only can switch on back to inside air. Ixxit same like me? Mines also 2013 from Japan. And it take me spend spend RM4K+ to change the whole aircon compressor.

My advise to all hybrid owner, when heavy rain day, if u see sediment on road, don drive over it. Switch off ur aircon n drive slowly when pass by deep sediment on road. A honda senior technician told me, our hybrid commonly having auto jump to outside air problem even in Japan. Root cause is sensor switch in air compressor damage by rain water when drive fast pass by sediment on road. Beware when u driving on raining day.

I also kena this problem and spend 5k include service... WTF... they say out of warranty.... thats all...
*
Yes. For those who bought the 1st batch from Japan have 5 years warranty. Which is purchase at 2013. After 5 years if aircon spoiled need to "jiak ka ki" liao. This Hybrid civic aircon really have manufacturing defect or design defect. 5 out of 10 cars all having same problem. my car 6 years old but change compressor cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif twice already.

How much it cost you?  I changed tensional bearing first..hoping its not the compressor..cost rm700..
Then a week later totally no cold air n switched to green fresh air.

Sent back to service yesterday.  Rm5100 for compressor. Ordered n only can send in by Monday.  1 week hot air!

If this batch is problematic,  then should change for free...if in usa...but malaysians too few buy hybrid n too weak to fight in court.
*
You only 1 week, i drive 1 month with hot air until i betahan then only go change. Some more need pay deposit to order, after part arrive only send car to service center to change. U know how i drive my car during the 1 whole month? I drive slowly and try to remain below 3000rpm. When RPM over 3000 it will automatic switch to outside air. Then i need to put signal n stop aside. Switch off my engine and start again, then only have cold air again. City drive still ok, but when drive highway, i need to wind down the window all the way. When raining day lagi kaolat...no aircon, whole wind screen full frogging. I had go different service center let different ppl check, try my luck hopefully can repair without change the whole compressor but too bad. All service center system linked. Honda die die want to dig rm5100 from my wallet.

I read the usa car guide... air con should last 10 to 12 years.  Ours die 3 to 5 years....and replacement compressor only warranted for 6 months or 10000km!  Not even 1 year.

How long is the hybrid battery replacement warranted? I read 8 years... anyone knows?
*
8 or 10 years? I remember i received a letter from Honda saying that they had extend the hybrid battery warranty to 10 years.

Why not get outside to repair. It shall less than  rm2500
*
I had send to outside aircon expert to check too, but they said need to change the whole compressor and need order from Japan. There is not MADE in Taiwan or China air compressor for Hybrid Civic. Unless u go for half cut shop to find used compressor but warranty only 1 week. Price also RM2K+. sad.gif sad.gif

The money u spend for continue service in HCH is more than u buy the battery by ur own. Imagine you continue service at HCH for 8 years!

My car mileage about 80+k km. I heard Aircon compressor issue usually happens to Japan CBU. Is yours Japan or Thailand?
*
Mines is from Japan. But i heard from Honda CS, all civic hybrid also having the same problem, depend on ur luck, if u lucky enough, ur aircon might last 4-6 years, those unlucky need to change compressor every 2-3 years... and tis is manufacturer defect, is a design failure doh.gif which cannot solve by them unless they come out a new design of compressor.

Why there is a lot of Civic Hybrid on sale in the market, and the resale value seems so low.  Is it possible to drive when the hybrid battery spoilt?
Anyone has changed the battery before ?
How much does it cost?
*
Yes, U still can drive it like normal honda civic. Lithium battery just assist only, not main power supply. Our civic not same Prius C. Prius C is battery kong, totally cant start car, but ours still can start.
