Those young midfielder could all be FLOP !! i hope RDM will not be pressured to field all those new player, else he could end up like AVB. Those deserve starting 11 should be those on form, regardless of age, status, price tag.

ESSIEN and MEIRELES still play good football, even they dont start, they provide a strong backup, the only player i think should go is MALOUDA, he did play a lot minute last season and he offer nothing.

Base on KAKUTA first half performance, i guess he should be loan out again, i dont think he will have a chance to sit on the bench. At some point i thought he was playing MIKEL role doing all those square passes once he receive the ball. As a winger he seem lack confident to be a bit more adventurous trying to hold the ball a while to create chances.

Ya striker position is very worrying, dilemma dilemma, is better for LUKAKU to go out on loan (provided he dont sit on other team bench) but with TORRES and STURRIDGE hardly convince yet, what more if injury hit then we will be short of striker. LUKAKU also a different type of player than other 2 which can offer plan B.

Worse come to worse will RDM drop all 3 striker and play 4-6-0 ? since we are overloaded with midfield at the moment

For me, his performance was just average, and i dont think he is suitable for central striker role because of his poor first touch. As a central forward, he will be surrounded by opponent close by, a poor touch means either ball been rob or defence have time to recover. I still think is his ego thinking being central striker he can score more goals. I could only see him play as RW at the moment, as RW he have less attention by opponent, so he can do what he do best which is in at the right place at the right time to tap in a goal.

If i didnt remember wrong, he didnt quite make it at the big league, eg. RM and AC, we also have a scoring machine from ANDERLECHT but he only play for CHELSEA reserve

Added on August 11, 2012, 2:25 amQuite agree there, since LUKAKU already loan to WBA, we only left 2 unconvincing striker, but a striker in CAVANI class will not be good for TORRES. But i am willing to gamble half a season on TORRES for him to prove his worth. With all the AM we bought and as the main striker, if he still fail then is time to get another striker to totally replace him in JAN windows. But i wont mind a MOSES or PIAZON on the lineup as backup. And hope PIAZON have the impact like WELBECK that able to get into starting lineup ahead of 2 senior in CHICHARITO and BERBATOV.

Good spirit show by our players, guess IVA gonna miss 3 matches, too bad his tackle was just a second late, no complain on the red. TERRY unlucky with his stretch clearance but is still a great strike from YAYA. Maybe RDM did not remember ESSIEN actually play a makeshift RB before, should have sub him in because we concede 2 other goal coming from the right side, no people is helping RAMIRES there.

TORRES looks full of confidence today and have a good game, but the real test is yet to come, against team that play to win like MANC there is space for him to move, we have to see how he gonna fare against bottom team that play for a draw with parking the bus.

Check out the goal replay again, see where is MIKEL at 2nd and 3rd MANC goal. The person suppose covering the front of defender is not there, i dunno maybe RDM task MIKEL to cover right midfield side.

DROGBA is irreplaceable but i do hope we can have a striker that can work well in tight space against parking the bus team.

LUIZ did offer the speed we does not have in our other CB, but i would have pick CAHILL over him, he still feel like a time bomb in the squad. The budge/body check on TEVEZ inside the box could have been a penalty and a red, luckily TEVEZ did not make the most out of it. He did conceded a similar penalty before yet he still havent learned.

Errmm that is our best eleven already, you cannot expect OSCAR and MARIN to start ahead of LAMPARD or RAMIRES at community shield even if they are available. And always remember those we sign are "hot prospect" not "world class" player yet. It will take a few matches to see whether they will be able to fit into CHELSEA, asking them to replace LAMP and RAM is just far too early.

At the moment i cannot imagine we start with (as suggested),

RAMIRES, OSCAR
MARIN, MATA, HAZARD
TORRES

Suddenly our team lose a lot muscle and height, which might have problem in winning ball from the midfield, maybe later is possible when those new player already gel and can adapt with BPL physical game. Meanwhile i guess is back to the trusted line up + 70min sub for the newly signed to see how they fare + playing some good football + getting the result. Cant wait to see how TORRES and the team fare against parking the bus team.
