QUOTE(lichyetan @ May 31 2007, 11:55 PM) @gsan looks like u got a good toledo steppings, my opty 170 reach 2.6ghz already need 1.55vcore, gotto tame it with water... especially for the weeks end of the year 06, there are awesome stepping QUOTE(overclockalbert @ Jun 1 2007, 02:59 AM) @gsan, nice OC u got!!!!!!!!! mind to share how to do it? burn in for how long? lucky to get awesome stepping, prime for 1 day and then go straight 2.9GHz already

@amyhs99
what's your temp for both core when priming 2.5GHz @ stock vcore?

QUOTE(amyhs99 @ June 14, 2007, 6:14 pm) i cant get it to run stable. but core temp shows 48/52C before ir fails... why ask like this ler? I just tried my friend's X2 LCBQE 0648SPMW, overclock to 2.5GHz @ 1.328v w/ ihs off, but temp. quite still high.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 16 2007, 11:31 AM) Not bad what. My x2 4200+ will fail at 2.7 Ghz at stock vcore after a few hours of orthos. Only stable at 2.69 Ghz at stock. In order to get stable at 2.74 Ghz need to pump up to 1.40v from 1.35v..... Haven't really tried the max at higher voltages yet as I'm not too happy with core temp above 55'c..... I believe that is the mobo limited the proc, maybe vdroop cause it unstable at stock.

I found that the memory controller of x2 LCBQE 0648SPMW is quite weak, my bh5 cant run 180MHz divider stable @ 2.7GHz which yield 242MHz ram speed, timing is 2-2-2-5, 1T and vdimm is 3.2v.

QUOTE(uzairi @ Jun 20 2007, 10:58 AM) 242mhz ? Highest you can get is 250mhz ? To me it is still ok.. Mine, instead of 300mhz i only get 280mhz at most. Limited by mobo. 250MHz is for my X2 LCBIE 0621VPMW but this LCBQE really weak, I tried 2.7GHz with 166MHz divider which running at 225MHz ram speed @ 2.9v prime failed too.

regarding this issue, I knew it from XS before, but so far I have not experience it, maybe it will happening one day later and atm I limited the vdimm up to 3.3v

well, the LCBQE 0648SPMW finally can prime 2.7GHz @ stock vcore stable with the FFT is from 8k to 512k. at first, I tried 2.7GHz @ stock vcore but it prime failed within 3 hours and pump to 1.375v it still prime failed within 10+ hours provided the vdimm is 3.2v. the reason I set vdimm to 3.2v because the others X2 running 2.7GHz with 180MHz divider need this vdimm. but for this X2, it need 3.3v to prime it stable and I believe that FFT more than 64k is more stress to memory.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 23 2007, 03:55 PM) You mean to say that vdimm also affects max CPU OC speed? nope, what I want to point out is FFT more than 64k is stressing memory than cpu.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 23 2007, 04:22 PM) Ya, that's what I was thinking. Everytime the FFT is high e.g. 380k, the CPU temperature drops. This probably means that it is not stressed that much. So, the recommendation of setting the FFT to 8 - 512k is actually to stress the whole rig right? I thought initially it was solely for the CPU.... for testing whole system stability, use blend test, FFT 8k-4096k

QUOTE(uzairi @ Jun 24 2007, 09:25 PM) , currently im using 2.7v for my tccd. Should i increase the vdimm ? you can raise it up to 2.9v provided you have proper cooling to it.

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Dec 1 2007, 08:38 PM) i saw lotsa people got diff core temp between core0 - core1, i also experience this, difference of 8c+ make my x2 3800 cnt go higher with high vcore even with water cooling as the oc failed because of one of the core reaching 59c while another still held at 49c at noon. i can oc higher at midnight compare to day time, LOL... i think its amd ihs problem hehe... it is the time for you to take off the ihs
