QUOTE(Springdale @ Jan 27 2006, 04:19 PM) precisely, spot-on, <insert other synonyms here> though you'd never find any of the good clocking steppings at shops anymorewhile we are constantly looking at the databases of other forums such as xtreme.org etc, hopefully we can achieve the same with reference to our own local scene. with that, then more powah to us when we decide to go shoppin for the next CPU etc... so it doesnt really help u there unless you're tryin to get a proc of some fella that doesnt OC |

QUOTE(rendl @ Feb 18 2006, 10:08 AM) mate, 1.6 will kill my manchester~ hmm....is 1.6 very high for a manchester?even @1.5 priming is already 59 degrees closed case... i think the RAM/mosfets/nb is holding me back... the manchester definitely can reach at least 2.7~2.8 @1.435 Vcore so far on the Venices i've tried, up to almost 1.7V is okay for benching |

i normally limit myself to 1.7V (set in bios, detected slightly lower) on air cooling
for benching only of course but most ppl would say that will fry your proc |

QUOTE(KidsCode @ Apr 5 2006, 10:21 PM) Ppl, want to ask something on o/c on AMD64. I know this question been ask alot of time, but still need 2nd opinion again. As just got my new Opteron 144, still tweaking it. That depends on how big a difference there is between the 2Which is really prefer: 1. Max the core speed but using non 1:1 divider 2. Max the FSB running on 1:1 divider Understand that in AMD64 o/c max on the HTT is more important then the max on FSB on the 1:1 divider. Correct me if you think that Im getting something wrong here... Thanz for helping... If your max proc speed is 3ghz @ 333HTT X 9 and your rams can only do, say 280mhz, you'll be running 2.52ghz @ 280HTT X 9 There's such a big difference in speed that that the obvious choice would be the proc's speed If its 2.7ghz @ 300HTT X 9 and your rams can do 295mhz, then going for 295HTT X 9 might be a better choice Just hit for the highest proc speed, then figure out what dividers to put on Btw, the proper thread is here http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=239123&st=260 |

QUOTE(gsan @ Apr 15 2006, 09:23 AM) Haha, i sold it to you to get a NinjaThen traded the Ninja for a 90C again That Ninja is 1 fat bugger...damn troublesome to take it out everytime QUOTE(Cyclone87 @ Apr 15 2006, 02:43 PM) Overclocking result ..is the same. all the same..Except..Ultra got Sata2 but..around rm100 more expensive. So if u wan to use SATA2..den Ultra..if not..Normal ver. The LP series also has better cooling, lotsa extra memory tweaking options, better components and some other stuffThe difference in OCing capabilities shouldnt be big, but i doubt it'll be the same This post has been edited by KilJim: Apr 15 2006, 03:10 PM |
