i applied for a hong leong bank HLB cashback credit card last year during big bad wolf in mines dec17, promoter promise got rm300 lazada voucher after spending rm1500 for 1st 3 months after activation. I've spend more than that amount but have not receive any news from HLB. unfortunately i've lost the contact of the agent and when i call HLB they said they don't have info on the promotion. any ideas on how to proceed?

Not aware of any at the moment. Perhaps you should look at other bank's cc. Quantum from PBB is quite good.

Yea me too 5% cashback for dining is pretty good. Many discounts for certain restaurant using this card. Going to call them to cancel and see what they say

called to cancel mach last week. received retention call offer - swipe 6x within a month of any amount and they will cashback rm25 on the anniversary. i proceed to cancelled though.

How I wished I can cancel the card with this kind of retention offer.. too bad I’ve ongoing BT with HLB which I can’t do early settlement due to the penalty.. else, I will try luck to cancel it..

nope. anniversary in may actually. but decided to cut anyway, with the rest of my other underutilized cards. usually we can reinstate a credit card within 6 months, but the lady said this is not the case of mach cus no longer offering.

My AF charged on 1Sept, but no SST charged. May be because of the card expiry in August.

Anyone managed to get the bank absorb the SST for Mach?

it's unlikely, they do not replace mach cards anymore.

I'm so disappointed with HLB now. Last month I forgot to pay my bill by one day and immediately paid off with IBFT.

I just realised my latest statement today which was issued 10 days ago that I am charged with late charges for all CC and BT accounts. Total: RM 142.30.

I just called HLB about this that their policy has changed since 1st Oct and they no longer provide grace period for late payment. They used to give 4 days as confirmed by the CS. However, this communication is not shared with cardholders which I think fair because this kind of thing is for internal only.

Now I appealed for waiver as it's my first time and it cannot be done immediately until I clear off my latest statement which will due on 16th. Then only I will call back to request for waiver.

Though it's my mistake but I find this is too harsh for cardholders. I cannot recall other banks are doing this? I learnt the hard way but you all need to take note with HLB from now onward.

My anniversary date for this card also on Jan, I guess will be charge soon
