Might be going to Bangkok for work and would like to spend a weekend with my partner. Most probably will only be able to squeeze 3D2N.

Please recommend some must do and go and hotel as well - shopping and food are the priority. Don't have to be branded. biggrin.gif

Read a few page had the following hotel in my list (Below RM150/night)
PR place
Pratunam pavilion
Ecotel
Bangkok City Hotel
41 Suite

Can skip all the night life thingy.

Lowest possible fare

KUL - DMK - RM84
DMK - KUL - RM127

Not inclusive of meal / luggage / other add ons and of course if you can suit your travel date to the limited tickets out there.

^wow so lucky u bearbear

I didnt manage to book zero fare tho  cry.gif

i suspect there is very limited tickets available yesterday, perhaps leftover from previous sales. when i check at 12am sharp the date i choose already left certain time slot only, either fly on sat night (RM30 ticket) or sunday afternoon (RM0 ticket).

I hesitate awhile and tried to change back to fly on Saturday night even the RM30 ticket also sold out. I will miss out the famous chatuchak market as a result and also take one additional day of annual leave to suit the cheapest ticket.

just booked Bangkok City Hotel, RM370 for 3 nights.

Dude, i will not advise you to go pratunam hunting for food. Area too big n u would rather eat whatever u think its good. Food should be the last thing in mind , u only have limited time. Trust me.

Thanks!

Changed my accommodation to suit our shopping.

1st night - Bangkok City Hotel
2nd & 3rd night - Metz Pratunam

bangkok city hotel have tuk tuk going to pratunam area for THB 80. i traveled mostly in Tuk tuk. I don't take taxi even though price is not much different. I gave tuk tuk mostly about THB 100 baht for short trips. the experience in tuk tuk is marvelous especially at night. near to this hotel , has a street tai chow, the seafood really good and cheap. u will noticed a lot of people dining there.
*
Thanks, originally booked BCH for all 3 nights but later felt that its not worth to go so far if i need to put all the shopping bags off at the hotel, choose something closer to suit the shopping need.

Any other thing notable to do around BCH so we don't spend silly money on transport?

Flight on arrive late afternoon so upon check in first thing would be dinner then maybe a nearby night market (any suggestion?) and massage to finish the day off.

Any early market around the hotel area?

After lunch will check out and move to Pratunam to explore.

good to hear they willing to refund to you, the thing with AA now is they don't take calls and their live chat shiat is not working. Doubt i will get a full refund unless they shut down the airport / announce Bangkok as unsafe to visit else how TF can expand AA?

The loss i have with Hotel is minimal just some cancellation fee to pay, majority is the air ticket sad.gif

EDIT: Reply from AA representative in live chat

Hi. Please be informed cancellation/ route change is not allowed for the DMK route yet. Our flight will be operating as per normal at the moment. The team will notify passenger once get the notification from the DMK airport for this political issue, and service recovery will be offer for affected passenger only if the notice come out.
