hi guys! another wira owner reportin in smile.gif

talkin bout the strut, yes it does make ur car feel more stable when cornering, but this mentallity will make ur tyre cepat botak, since it's stable, u'll tend to take sharp corners or accelerate more when goin thru corners, so it end up makan ur tyre, save ur tyres! ahaks! tongue.gif

I predict it's mostly ur air-con compressor belt being the culprit. If so, tighten it according and only use a silicon based lubricant for the belt. Petroleum based lube will damage the belt smile.gif
*
air-cond compressor belt aarr? well, the loud sound starts even before i switch on the aircond? or the belt, no matter air-cond on or not, will still moving ar? noob! tongue.gif

btw, first time i heard timing belt oso we put lubricant, again noob! hahaha!

the lubricant, any particular name for it? cool.gif

Yup, regardless of whether you turn on the aircon or not, the engine will still drive drive the aircon compressor. It's just that the magnetic clutch in the compressor is not engaged, so no cold air biggrin.gif

Hope u understand laugh.gif

And btw, check ur other belts like power steering and alternator as well.

EDITED: Don't get me wrong. I did not ask you to apply lubricant to your "timing belt". I'm referring to the aircon/alternator/power steering belt, if the squeking sounds still can be heard even after you tighten em' belts.

Again, do not apply any sorts of lubricant to ur timing belt, it's a stupid thing to do. The lubricant that i mentioned is something like a belt dresser. Spare part dealer should know what's that. It's not exactly a lubricant..so in this case, i'm da noob, not you blush.gif
*
hehe, it's not 'squeking' actually, it's just gettin louder, not that it's gettin louder everyday, it's louder compare to few months ago, well, i do admit lst few months maintenance not so good, no money wan to bring to service. well, will be bringin my car to service this week (gaji! tongue.gif ), have been surveying those so called 'improve ur engine' liquids, some even say can reduce engine sound, maybe will get one, will share with u guys the result.

went for service today, semi synt shell oil, change oil filter & labour RM112.

continue with my 'loud engine' sound case, i asked this apek, so he listen to the sound, ram2 my engine a bit, he said air-cond 'bearing mau tukar'.. so he said have to take out the compressor to take out the bearing, bearing RM25, then have to put in air-cond RM80, then forgot oredi bla bla this and that, all added up RM200 plus, then he said if compressor head oso rosak have to change add RM70.. i was so sad, luckily that time not enuf time he said can come tmr..

so i went back to puchong, stop by this service shop, the fella check the sound, he said only need to change the 'density bearing', no need kacau the compressor bearing, RM25 only, no labour charge!!!! then his macai, an indian guy, his name is 'ganesh', change my bearing and ask me to change the 'belt' oso, then he charge me bearing RM20 (instead of RM25 mentioned by boss earlier!) and RM18 for the belt!! now my mother said engine sound not loud oredi, so no need to worry every morning wake up all the neighbour when i start my engine! tongue.gif

almost 'kena potong' today!!! blush.gif but then they said my car come out 'white smoke', have to change 'vasui/vasu/visu', donno lar wat oredi, if wan change RM400 plus like dat, but have to leave car one day..

my next question, do you guys know what was meant by them? is there any other way to 'improve' the white smoke (to make it un-white! haha!)...

White bluish smoke mostly mean either a worn out piston ring or valve seal. Might require an overhaul. That should explaim the RM400 plus repair bill.

I'm feeling you man sad.gif

aiseh, so there's no other 'cheaper' alternative ar? aiya, baru gaji goin to broke oredi! cry.gif

and the engine feels gets hot easily......darn man!

cry.gif ....i have no idea what is goiing on.....the water level in the radiator and reserve tank seems okay...
also, does the radiator fan pusing all the time or it will have intervals?  icon_question.gif

erm, and how much is the average price if want to change the whole radiator?

hope my message here is not confusing....

-cheers-

*
try to change the radiator coolant and see how it goes, better don buy the cheap2 wan, i've used the cheaper once but i'm more satisfied with those that i bought from the petrol shop.

Anyone of you all know how to increase the NVH on my car?
I noticed Im getting a lot of feedback from the road.. especially when I go on rougher road.

I plan to:

-Sound proof the bonnet
- have soundproofing on the doors.

Guys, im driving the 1st gen wira ,13 yrs old already. What im experiencing lately that during cornering to the right i can hear some "tak tak tak" sound at the rear wheel section.
What could cause this problem?? Thx
*
i dont think wat i'm goin to state here is ur answer, but i hope it helps.

i experience this tak tak tak sound before, but that is when i changed my engine oil to another brand. I red before in some other forum stating that this has sumthin to do with the type of engine (carb or injection) and it's engine oil. so what i did i started to use shell's engine oil (believing it's a good engine oil), well the tak tak tak sound now no more.

i juz afraid if i misunderstand the concept all together, hopefully the sifu's out there can elaborate and explain better.

few cents cool.gif

I think its called the speedometer cable. I replaced my cable the last time because the meter made noises when I hit more than 80kmh.

Which part of your speedo doesn't work? The speed, trip meter or the odometer?
Yep, all the meters in your dash can be changed. They are modular and independent. You can change the rpm meter, the speedo, the temperature or the fuel gauge.
*
wow! i didn't know that the meters are independent, i tot once one of them broken have to change the whole meter, good info! thanks! rclxms.gif

today went to proton authorized SC..

1st - ECU tuning + throttle body cleaning(juz spray n wipe, didnt take out TB) = RM50

2nd - use PDT2000, detect 2 sensors faulty (speed sensor & ISC sensor) = RM80 x 2 = RM160

Result - rpm still low n vibrate.. he said is throttle body kong, n he show downpart is melted, which he claimed has the circuit, he adviced to buy a new TB or buy half cut TB from chopshop.

3rd - buy new throttle body(RM660) n go back to the mechanic to fix it.. labour charge = RM35, TB gasket = RM15

Result - rpm juz slightly higher to 300rpm-500rpm when engage to D.. knnccb...

he said its like tht one..  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif

Total money tht spend = RM920  mad.gif  mad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif

first thing u should do before trying to modify anything is to see if your car is up to it. i've seen some customers who's cars are smoking, but still want to fit race cams............don't understand the concept.......... best to check the condition of the car first. next, make sure your brakes & tyres are up to scratch. then we can talk about mod jobs
*
hi maddriver, just wonderring, do u know how much it is to change the engine's 'valve seal'? any place to recommend to change these? if no idea nvm, i'm asking oni, thanks blush.gif

there are shops doing just the valve seals for 200 inclusive of parts and labour. or u can do a top overhaul. i would recoment the top overhaul as we can check the condition of your piston rings as well. usually the going price for a top overhaul should be less than rm400
as for the super stiff shocks, the plus side is that after travelling on bad roads with your girlfriend, u either get milkshakes or bra size goes up a notch thumbup.gif
*
hheemm.. the workshop here offered me around RM400 to change the valve seal, but am not sure whether they'll only change the seal or they are doing top overhaul. Does top overhaul includes changing the valve seal?

one more thing, they suggested me (changing the valve seal) bcos whenever my car being ram, white smoke coming out, so on this case, will it be ok if only changing the seal?

where's ur shop btw? wink.gif
