Hi ppl, helping friend to look for a notebook recommendation,

1 Budget - around 1.5k to 1.8k
2. Usage - daily usage not for gaming
3. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14" or above
4. one important factor must be light weight

Pretty much those unless if you (i) omit the light weight requirement (then a lot of options there); (ii) include 13" (some nice models there too) tongue.gif

then ignore the light weight requirement and what else u got thr brows.gif

14" (prices in RRP, can bargain)
Asus A43Sd- VX419V/420V/421V/422V, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT610M@RM1899[2.4kg], W7HP, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), colors: black/blue/red/white
Dell Inspiron 14 (N4050), i3-2350M + Intel HD3000@RM1799[2.2kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)
Dell Vostro 3450, i3-2350M + Intel HD3000@RM1819, 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), W7HB
Fujitsu LifeBook LH531, i3-2350M + Nvidia G410M@RM1910[2.1kg], 4GB, 640GB, spill-resistant keyboard, colors: black/maroon/pink *prices should be much cheaper now
HP Pavilion G4-2110TU, i3-3110M + Intel HD4000@RM1799, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HP
Lenovo G470, i5-2450M + AMD HD6370M@RM1899, 4GB, 500GB, W7HP; color: grey
Toshiba Satellite L840-1001, i3-2350M + Intel HD3000@RM1699[2.12kg], 2GB, 640GB, W7HP

The HP is currently the only one running on Ivy Bridge processor. Not that you'll notice much differences if you're only using it for normal stuffs nod.gif
I would recommend the Vostro 3450 over the others because of the faster HDD speed, program load times would be shorter, leading to a faster computing experience

However, do take note that the Vostro 3450 runs on W7 Home Basic instead of Home Premium ya.
