Need a new laptop

1. Preferred Brand - Value for money

2. Budget - 3k - maybe can add abit more

3. Usage - Office software, Gaming, abit of Photo-editing & designing, Portability and battery life would be preferred.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 13"-14"

Having said the above, I believe Sony Vaio S series (can on the fly swap graphics card to save batt life right?) seems suitable for me. Suits my budget, small, light and portable. Is the performance able to play games like battlefield 3 level? This is the model I am looking at: SVS13116FG

On the flip side I am also looking at the Y580 but its bigger & heavier no?
I do move around alot..

And on top of that, I read that its best to wait for end of this month to see new laptops coming out/price drops for current laptops.

Things to look out for is the Y500? What about sony's new update to the current SVS13116FG I am looking at?

So what should I do? I guess I can wait till end of this month. Roughly when we will know?

Any news for upcoming update to something around price range, weight and spec of SVS13116FG? Thanks!
