How is the HD7670 vs GT640LE? are the performance difference huge?
And is the optimus tech in the GT640LE is useful compared to HD7670's offering?

Thanks =D

Do take note that there is a faster version of the Asus S46:
Asus [Ultrabook]S46CM-WX023V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M + 24GB mSATA + 500GB HDD@RM2599, 4GB, W7HP

Can't really comment on the build quality since both models are very new.
The Asus will have shorter battery life because of the smaller battery and also the dGPU (especially when you're using it)...
I've never used sketchup and CAD before, but based on some Googling it seems like it could benefit from having a dGPU... in which's case the Asus would be the better pick nod.gif

That's weird rm400 extra for just 24gb msata? I checked the website and the specs are identical except the msata hdd

Ya, very weird pricing right?
But that's what I'm getting at the moment and the specs appeared to be true  rclxub.gif
Might as well just get the RM2199 version and then use the remaining money for a true SSD  tongue.gif

Yup man.
But i recall press release mentioned that K and S series will differ in size and weight.
K series wont have ultrabook size and weight. But i checked Asus site and it seems both K and S are exactly the same except for the msata hdd.
Weird.

Anyway, Singapore has the S46 i7 version @ SGD1.3k, or about RM3.25k.

The new Asus S46 and K46 will hit a really nice sweet spot for those that wants portability but with sufficient gaming power for latest games. AND, it has a good build quality.

Only thing I am still unsure is the actual battery life. If its at least 5 hours of surfing, I'm SOLD. The next best contender will be the Sony S13, but its much more expensive, and it has a less solid build quality. But due to that, its lighter, and its also a full fledged notebook (with non ULV proc).

Well, there are these two as well:
14"
Acer [Ultrabook] M5-481TG-53316G12, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT640M LE (28nm Kepler) + 128GB SSD@RM2899[1.85kg], 6GB, W7HP
HP [Ultrabook] Envy4-1043TX/1053TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP

Well I was looking at the Acer and the hp, but Acer ports are all behind and I think the ram can't be upgraded? And hp, well the graphics card isn't as good as the gt635. While hp's build quality is better than acer's, both don't have good reputation for reliability (IMO), so that's why I overlook these two tongue.gif

Just seen a real unit today, not bad, its quite nice looking... din't have the chance to play around with it though sad.gif
The thing about the S46Cm is the price... RM400 for an mSATA HDD is not exactly worth it.
Asus
[Ultrabook]K46CM-WX090V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M@RM2099[2kg], 2GB, 500GB, 4-cell battery, W7HP, OD
[Ultrabook]S46CM-WX023V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M + 24GB mSATA + 500GB HDD@RM2599[2kg], 4GB, W7HP, OD

If you are feeling adventurous, you can consider getting the RM2099 one and then upgrade the HDD to SSD yourself brows.gif

May I know where did you see the actual unit?
I've tried one in SG, and i thought the body is made from aluminium, but after checking out their website, they mentioned that its a single mold piece.
What do you think when you saw the unit? smile.gif

Might as well go for a 15.6" notebook. They perform much better hmm.gif

Saw S46 at Challenger in Mines
Definately its aluminium for keyboard area, and behind of screen. Bottom is molded plastic.
And price is RM2399 for the i5 with msata =D
Real good price for a just launched item!
