Hey guys. About the lenovo y480, is the gpu a geforce 640m or a geforce 640m LE? Also is 640m gddr5 better than 650m ddr3?

Hi guys, need a laptop for gaming mainly. Looking for performance, reliability & light weight.

1. Preferred Brand - none

2. Budget - <rm3k

3. Usage - Gaming (dota2 and such)

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14 inch, 13-15 also ok if weight is reasonable.

5. Weight - <2.5kg

Was wondering if there's any ultrabook with dedicated graphic card that's worth getting?

So far, recommendation is the Lenovo IdeaPad Y480. Any feedback on Lenovo reliability? Or the model itself specifically? Needs laptop to last me 3-5 years. My previous one was acer aspire 4720G, lasted me 5 years. No complaints on it despite many others that's against Acer...

Haha bro i also was also recommended the y480 by the sifus at this thread (thx TJ!). Its darn good. Feels solid and has some design cues rather than just a regular laptop. Although it comes with w7hb there are patches to unlock aero functionality. I'm enjoying it right now thumbup.gif

Oh so u bought it? Rating out of 10? sorry noob here, what's aero for? Is the w7hb original with key? Any other negative side of it? Just want to prepare myself.

Yeah I bought it laugh.gif and i'm really enjoying it. From my perpective, coming from an old compaq with a low end amd athlon cpu and ati gpu, i'd give it 9/10. Aero is functionality and some eye-candy animations when navigating through windows. Yea its original dont worry tongue.gif cant say there is.. If your priority is gaming like mine, the gt650m gddr5 gpu will not disappoint rclxms.gif
