What's the current price for Lenovo Y480 because I noticed there's a range from RM23XX - RM2599 and normally if I add SDD in it how much will it sum up to?

Finally is there any good thread with all the full required drivers download location for lenovo Y480?

Thanks in advance for all the info appreciate it
*
Do refer here for better feedbacks from owners nod.gif http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2375417

The RRP is RM2599, meaning that you can still bargain and slash the price some more depending on how good your bargaining skills are laugh.gif
SSD price varies depending on the capacity you want hmm.gif
I'm not very sure about the price, but you should be able to get a 128GB SSD for around RM400? hmm.gif
As for the drivers, they should all be available in Lenovo Malaysia's website nod.gif

Hi all,

Need some help here.

I'm considering the MacBook Pro Retina Display but read about the Ghosting screen issues.

If I go back to Windows Notebook, which brand or model is closest to the MacBook Pro RD?

Budget around RM 7000 +-.

Prefers good quality screen HiDPI if possible , 8 or 16GB RAM,  256gb SSD, 1Gb discreet graphics card, and preferable looks slim and not too heavy.

Is there such a Windows based notebook with these preferences?

Thanks
*
Don't think so... at least not at the moment nod.gif Can consider Dell Precisions if you don't mind the pretty bulky chassis laugh.gif

There are upcoming ones though i.e. one from Asus- http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2488593

Hi, i want to buy new laptop for work with some light game on it

1. Preferred brand : Any
2. Budget : <RM 1800
3. Usage : some work and light game and
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 15.6 inches matte screen (anti reflect)

Do u think i should go for the ultrabook  than the laptops?

Thanks very much!!

Ultrabooks are out of your budget I'm afraid...
Closest would be these if the matte screen is a must have:

I have a question, If i get a Mac book Air, did I need to change all my accessories to apple product like mouse, external hard disk and extra USB port ?
Besides, will there be any problem or risk if I wan to install Window to the mac air ?

Your accessories should work if they are Mac-supported (which most are) nod.gif

Bootcamping should be fine

How do I know is the accessories are Mac-supported ?
Since I have no idea the bootcamping thing, so will the retailer have me done it ?
Do I need to purchase additional original window disc ?
will the function and so on work like normal window pc ?
If u change to window, can the warranty still be claim ?
Will there be any problem if I install pirate thing ?
*
- They will be written on the box
- Most will ask you to pay I guess? And I don't think they will do it during official working hours laugh.gif
- Don't think so.. Don't own a Mac, can't really comment
- The warranty is still valid
- I doubt there will be any problem since its just like a normal Windows OS hmm.gif

Hi all sifus, I need recommendation in getting a laptop. I did some readings in lowyat forum and alot of ppl recommend Y580 . My other option which i have in mind is the rMBP which is a different whole story.

Basically, what I want is a light laptop + powerful enough to multitask between programs in the background when i'm doing my stuff .rMBP suits my need well but it is a MacOS. Budget is not really an issue but for windows laptop i wont want to stretch more than rm4000(including the upgrade for SSD). I have a bad experience with laptop too, hopefully sifus can take into consideration a durable laptop with minimum issues.

1. Preferred Brand - None
2. Budget - 2k-4k
3. Usage - Playing dota2 , the rest are common usage (browsing, songs, assignments)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - FullHD or maybe any sifus can recommend me light + small laptop and I will get an external monitor for it when im using it at home.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Hi PF. I've seen the models u recommended. The sager one looks good but after sometime I prefer getting a bigger screen of 15.6" FHD. Is there any laptop which is 15.6" and lighter than 2.5kg with high performance as well? Lets put the budget higher, 5k and below.

I saw the ASUS zen book which is 15" but it's not yet  release and the Sony vaio s15 series (I couldn't find it from the malaysia sony official web), is there any laptop similar as them which is currently available?

Many thanks.

Heyya guys,

I'm looking to purchase a new laptop, here are my preference
1. model - any model that comes with OS/Drivers or at least options to have it installed (only best recommendations pls for price value)

2. usage - university assignments (word), daily streaming videos n movies online (upload multiple videos at one time), multimedia (Photoshop and video editing; sony vegas),
smooth browsing multitasking for research .

3. price - RM2000 to RM3000

4. size - any screen size, slim but performance matters most

5. preference- included windows office software or add on options for uni use, 3 yrs warranty or extended warranty option, backlit board, good audio,
relatively good customer service, sound cooling system but with strong CPU, better if can be purchased online.

Thank You

The Y480 is cheaper, but comes with a relatively weaker GPU and a non-FullHD screen... You can still use your remaining money to extend the warranty to 3 years (preferably on-site)
As for the Y580, its a lot more powerful and heavier as well... but warranty extension will mean exceeding your budget sad.gif
