My shortlisted place in Tokyo as follows:

1. (reach shinjuku in the afternoon)
Shinjuku
Harajuku
- Meiji Jingu Shrine & Yoyogi Park
Shibuya
[Stay around Shinjuku Station?]

2.
Sensoji Temple
- Nakamise Dori
Ueno Park
Akihabara
Ginza
Imperial Palace
- Imperial Palace East Garden (Kyoko Higashi Gyoen)
Tsukiji Market
Tokyo Tower (Nightview)
[Stay around Ginza/Ueno? for 2 days]

3.
Disney Resort
[same hotel before this]

4.
Sightsee Rainbow Bridge
Odaiba - Gundam

>> Evening time take Shinkansen train back to Osaka and overnight at airport.

So, does my suggestion look convenient? Please advice on where should I base in these days in Tokyo.
*
Day 1: Is this a Sunday? Harajuku is best visited on a Sunday.
Perhaps you can consider Sunroute Plaza Hotel Shinjuku or Century Southern Tower. Depends on your budget.
You can make Shinjuku your base so you don't need to keep changing hotels.

Day 2: It's better to go Tsukiji in the morning. before 9am. Or 4-5am for the auction.
You can try Shinjuku Tokyo Metropolitan Government building for viewing. It's free

Day 4: Lots of things to do in Odaiba. Gundam, Toyota Megaweb, Onsen, Tokyo Joypolis, Miraikan...

Have fun!

Ah not Sendai Fukushima, exact address is  Fukushima 7-chome, Fukushima-ku, Osaka-City.

So like you're saying, if I want to commute within Osaka/Shin Osaka - JR lines is the best choice , yes? Do you think I should be getting a -day pass as well? thats aabout 2,000 Yen if im not mistaken.

I planned to go Mount Fuji by following a group tour for one-day trip on 13 November. Heard some people said that Mt Fuji's fifth station will be close on November probably due to snow. Should I book the tour? If the tour didn't make it 5th station, will it be a waste? How about visibility to Mt Fuji?

The itinerary of tour:
On your full-day trip from Tokyo you'll travel by coach to the Fuji visitor center to see cultural art dedicated to Fujisan. As you drive up to Mt Fuji's fifth station at 7,607 feet (2,305 meters) you'll be inspired by the beauty of the Japanese landscape. Lunch (if option is selected) is a traditional Japanese-style meal.

After lunch, you'll enjoy the crisp mountain air and Mt Fuji views while cruising Lake Ashi and riding the aerial cableway at Mount Komagatake overlooking Hakone National Park.

Your day trip to Mount Fuji concludes with a ride on the famous Shinkansen (Bullet train) super-express for the return journey to Tokyo.
*
Do you need to book so early? It's better to wait and check weather forecast when it's nearer the date. The 5th station will be closed if there's snow or the tour will skip if there's heavy traffic.

Perhaps you could get the Fuji Hakone Freepass or Hakone Freepass when you're there and go around yourself.

Hi, I'm planning out a 1 day Hakone day trip for end of Oct.
Planning to get the Hakone free pass, and do the round course.
Any advice or pointers from anyone who done this before? How early to start, interesting places to visit and weather?

Thanks!

Thinking of renting one for a week, just in case we get lost or have an unexpected place we want to go.

Heard this one is good

Just got back from my week at Tokyo. Had a really nice time. Weather was great (only 1 day rained) and the food was so good!

My flight was delayed 2 hours, no thanks to AAX. When i reached and got out was already 12.45am. Only choice was taxi. 8800 yen including toll, to Shinjuku.

Went around Tokyo including Disneyland (Halloween theme and everyone was dressed up), Odaiba (Tokyo Joypolis was fun!) & Hakone.
Was lucky to see Fuji a few times.

Yodobashi at Akihabara really has great prices on models and figurines. Even the shops around there or Nakano Broadway arent's so cheap.

Hope to go again soon!

HI.. just curious, what did you buy? Anything that's cheaper there, than here?

Hope AA won't delay mine arrival .. die lah doh.gif  cry.gif

I bought mostly Gundam and One Piece models. Lots of small boxes that you don't know which character u will get.
Quite fun.
Also went to Square Enix showcase in Shinjuku. Small shop selling merchandise from the games.

QUOTE(Lacersan @ Oct 31 2012, 09:00 PM)
Damn worried about this.
My flight is supposed to reach around 11pm, if delayed like hot-choc die la.

What's the most economical mode of transport to tokyo downtown? Should I get a van of some sort? Does airasia provide such services?

I think I have to factor in the possibility of flight delay causing me to arrive when train and bus all out of service already.
*
I think my delay was not a norm? Because never hear ppl said delay till so late before.
Depends how many persons traveling together with you. Can calculate whether taxi or van service is worth for you.

How much does "Tokyo Banana" cost per box ?
*
I bought it in Haneda airport, it costs less than 1000 yen for 8 pieces. About 953 yen if not mistaken. They also have another design which is giraffe prints on the cake.
Green tea and sakura matcha kitkat is 1500 yen per box of 10 pieces.

mind to share how much is your gundam?
just want to know how cheap over there.
*
My gundam 1/100 model is about 1650 yen.
Different models different price. And sometimes got sales.
Msia gundam prices seems to be increasing. Last time can get for RM120-140, now it's RM200++
Go survey your models first.

Hi there, do you bought Disneyland's ticket online or at the counter? Is there any limitation on how many people per day that can went in?

Thanks
*
I bought my Disney tickets from Disney Store at Takashimaya Shinjuku. Very easy and just go into Disney when u reach, no need to queue.
If you buy online, u need to get your tickets when u reach Disney at the Ticket Center. And u need to buy 7 days in advance.
http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/online/en/index.html

Not sure if tickets will run out, but you probably should avoid public/school holidays there. Even on weekdays there are many ppl already. Check this unofficial website to see the predictions.

For Visa application, the downloaded itinerary form:

"The schedules of stay in Japan of the visa applicant ________________ and ____ others are as follows:

The first blank is applicant name, second blank is number of people in same itinerary?

Also, for the Contact (table), is it refering to our contact or the accomodation's contact?

TQ  biggrin.gif

Question about disneyland. When check website (http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/ticket/adticket/index.html), there's no "fast pass" mentioned. Anyone knows got or not?

Is it possible to buy entrance tickets at airport or city hotels? Scared no tickets when reach disneyland.
*
You can get Disney tickets at certain Disney stores, like the one in Takashimaya at Shinjuku. Even can get it 1 days before going.
Another option is from their online website. But that you must by 7 days ahead of the date u want to go.
You can't buy fast pass. You need to get it inside Disneyland/sea.
