Hi. I am now finalizing the details of my vacation to Tokyo in April. Just need some clarifications on Nikko. I want to go to Nikko for a day tour. I stayed at Asakusa and want to take the Spacia at 7:30 am and reach Tobu Nikka around 9:16am.

I want to buy the All Nikko Pass + 1000 yen shrine pass since I want to visit All 3 shrines, Lake Churenji (Just taking photo, not taking the boat) , Kegon Waterfall & Shinkyo bridge.

As per timetable the last rapid train is at 17:59. So is it doable or should I take the Spica at 19:24?

Thanks for your help!!!

We left hotel around 7am. Our hotel is in front of Gotanda station so had to take train to Tokyo station first.
The shinkansen will only take you to Utsunomiya, after that you have to change train to JR Nikko line to reach Nikko.
Tokyo to Utsunomiya around 50 minutes
Utsunomiya to Nikko around 40 minutes (train leaves hourly, so might want to take note of that)

We reached Nikko station around 10am. Bought the World Heritage Bus Pass 500yen per person.
Took the bus straight to Omotesando bus stop that stops outside the temple area. Bought the combined ticket 1,300yen per adult, 450yen per child. This one included treasure house and botanical garden. Took our time to visit all the shrines and temples there. Had lunch at a nearby tourist souvenir shop, cost about 1,300yen per dish.

Around 3.15pm, took the bus from outside Taiyuin Temple there to Shinkyo bridge. After Shinkyo, we waited for the bus and go back to Nikko main town area to walk around. When time to go, we walk back to Nikko station and back track the way we came. Reach Tokyo around 6pm.

When are you going? Winter not much daylight so we had to rush a bit in visiting the temples.

Is that about 3 months stay in Japan?
I read that in Japan embassy site, but the 90 days more like the duration you may stay in Japan instead of how long the visa will last before it expired...
*
Like previous poster had said, the visa valid for 3 months after the issue date. It is for 15 days stay. If you have all the documents, dont worry. For my visa, I prepared RM6k for 10 days holiday in Tokyo. I just go to counter, within 5 minutes got the receipt and 3 days later got the visa. Easy!!!

My visa is valid for 30 days stay in Japan. I will be staying in Tokyo for 16 days. Maybe i prepared more than RM10k + FD saving documents can get longer stay?  hmm.gif

I think it is because you are staying 16 days in Tokyo already. 15 days mana cukup smile.gif Got a friend gave 10k also got 15 days only. I think base on your itinerary.

Hey guys, I'm planning to go Japan next year April. I want to got there with cheap ticket so i have two questions here.
1. What price consider low for two way and how should I give an eyes on it. should I buy it now and wait until is cheap or wait for matarfare or any other method?
2. I have to buy tickets first only apply for visa right?

Just give me guide. thanks.
*
1. My trip last april by Airasia x cost me RM820 all inclusive with luggage 15kg & 20kg and 4 meals. Booked last year may.

2. Yes, because when I apply for visa. They ask for flight itenerary. Also, visa only valid for 3 month. So, you only apply near to departure date.
