QUOTE(waeguk @ Dec 6 2012, 10:43 PM) Do our malaysian mobilephones work in Japan eg. roaming? Added on December 6, 2012, 10:50 pmAlso japan's ac power adapter is the following, right? Any issue for chargers (mobilephone, tablets, cameras, psp, etc? Mobile Roaming need to be set to 3G... and it will work. The plug is correct... 2 flat pins. Japan uses 110V... so ensure your AC Adaptor shows 110V-240V to be working in Japan.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 11 2012, 11:16 AM) i read in previous thread that there is no car park at the embassy and one can use LRT and stop at Ampang station, then walk to the embassy. However, Google map shows ampang lrt station is 5.k km away. I miss anything? There's about 6-7 carpark lots beside the Japanese Embassy. I would suggest you go with another person to submit the form and collect when ready. You do not need to go personally. Don't bother bring in your mobilephone (with camera). It's not allowed

QUOTE(ham_revilo @ Dec 17 2012, 12:45 AM) does japan accepts foreign issued credit card? i was planning to bring less cash and use credit card whenever i can. im using an OCBC mastercard. is it commonly accepted there? thanks in advanced If you have, bring Maybankard Visa/Master for "better" exchange rate than OCBC. AMEX also widely accepted (but high exchange rate too)

Here's a dirty trick to buy Winter Wear in Japan..... Buy anything you like from Uniqlo, return it for full refund when you leave Japan.
This is also a good trick to get Cash from your credit card... Pay the Uniqlo item with Credit Card, refund in Cash. BUT you still need to pay your CC bills when come back to Malaysia. Use for emergency only.

QUOTE(alimsacred @ Jan 15 2013, 04:56 AM) Hello all. It is my first time in T&L, do forgive me if I break any rules here. I am thinking of a visit to Japan in 2-3 years to come, and the most important place to me to visit is here Is there anyone willing to draft me a rough guide on how to go here? Any information, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Thank you. That's ADVANCED planning indeed....

Just photocopy & certified-true-copy of the bank statement. Fixed Deposits certificates will be a good supporting doc.

QUOTE(winifred86 @ May 8 2013, 10:10 PM) how much savings required actually? what is certified-true-copy of the bank statement? I have FD, also photocopy rite? Certified-True-Copy is a little shop with a signature from the bank on your photocopy. It's free (and insist it to be free)

QUOTE(fuzzy @ May 10 2013, 01:06 AM) Couple days back, friend helped me book around eerrmm, 1-2ish? You (your friend) was lucky to get the Taxes at only RM158. That means "No fuel surcharge" for your flight. Current Surcharge+Tax = RM932 (for the same travel period) Definitely a bug.... better clarify with MAS. QUOTE(hot-choc @ Jun 3 2013, 08:25 AM) I landed in Narita last Friday morning. After going through immigration, me and my hubby went to get limousine bus tickets. We got approached by a policeman, dressed in a suit. A very friendly and polite guy. He informed us of the emergency numbers in Japan and then proceeded to ask to see our passports. He asked permission to write down our passport details. During the whole time, he also made sure we did not miss our bus. He was a very nice guy, and we had a friendly conversation. Made the whole process comfortable. Why would the policeman stop you at all ???
